Decent Old Time breakfast joint. Vinyl seated booths, wood paneling and a 60's vibe to the menu are kinda charming. Friendly & quick service, served up a Ham and Cheddar omelette and an over eggs breakfast for the little woman. The requested well done hashbrowns were medium at best. My omelette was a little dry, but not bad. House made Hot sauce mixed with the ketchup was good. I believe we've had better meals at Katrina's or Nancy's in town.

what a quaint little "hole in the wall" restaurant in Historic Auburn, Ca. John Travolta filmed some of the 90's classic Phenomenon here. Their Omlettes are absolutely delicious!!! Coffee good too! Friendly Customer Service. We will definitely be back!!!

This place and the food is older than "old skool". It's a throwback to the early 1960's. I do know, I was 13 years old when the Beatles landed in New York (1964) to play on the Ed Sullivan TV show. Back to this here restaurant. It's funky in a non-threatening way. The vinyl seats in the booths are torn to $#i+. The bath rooms look like they haven't been scrubbed in decades. The wall board above the men's room sink is crumbling. The floor in front of the toilet is sticky with dried urine. Okay you get the picture. The owner and the service staff are welcoming and friendly. The dining room was 3/4 full at 10:30am. Obviously all of them were Auburn locals as the service folks were addressing every one of them by first name. The offerings are all the diner food choices you will find at most places that are also locked into a menu from 60 years ago. My loco moco ($18.95) was merely okay. I spend 8 weeks / year on Kauai and O'ahu. I've eaten 100's of loco moco meals. The one here is did not send me into a rapture. Frankly, it as pretty mediocre. I eat at a lot of mom n' pops restaurants. Expensive ones, cheap ones, trendy ones, urban ones, out in the boonies ones. Have had some amazing meals. Many forgettable ones. I hope to forget my experience here soon. I love Auburn. Will endeavor to visit other places that offer brunch. I suggest that you do as well. Unless you are born n' raised in Auburn and this place is in your DNA.

Yes Sammy is still doing her thing at Edelweiss serving up the best breakfast! Enjoyed the Bacon and eggs with extra bacon and the number 43 omelette.

Great small town feel restaurant. As place name house of omelets suggests, the omelets here are great! A lot of choices also. Service is friendly too. Omelet I had was delicious and the pineapple waffle too! Great place to stop and eat if in the area!

Classic old school diner. Fast and friendly service. Food was reasonably priced, hot, and fresh. Chicken fried steak was good, hot home fries, excellent blueberry pancake.

What a cute diner it is! We stopped here for lunch on our way back and had a very filling and delicious meal. Personable service and really cozy inside. My mushroom and Swiss omelet was fluffy and tasty. So much food and we needed to walk around a little before getting back in our car. We were able to park right in front of the restaurant by luck (there was a single spot open) but there are plenty of parking alongside the street, and there's a parking lot right next to the restaurant as well, which we didn't see until later.

5 1/2 stars if I could. Delicious food (and plenty of it) and reasonable prices. Coffee was excellent, plenty of refill offers. Very friendly and attentive service. Edelweiss hit on all cylinders. Very close to I-80 but not visible from the highway. A perfect breakfast lunch spot for locals or tourists heading to or from the mountains. Couldn't have asked for a better breakfast experience . As Arnold Schwarzenegger said "I'll be back"!

Yummy giant breakfasts. You should go there hungry, because they give you a huge amount of food. We are especially fond of their waffles.

Huge omelette. Wanted to share but they have a sharing fee of $1.50. So we got the cheap short stack of pancakes to use for the 2nd meal.

We shared a double burger with bacon and truffle parm fries. I was pretty shocked on the portions and it was more than enough for us to share. The burger was pretty good and a solid try. I will say the truffle parm fries were delicious. Perfect amount of crispy and they don't skip on the seasoning. They were sooo good! We also got a slice of banana cream pie and blueberry pie. Probably the best banana cream pie we've had. The blueberry pie was filled! Literally no complaints. The crust of the pies were perfect too! Next time I really do want to try the chicken pot pie and will be coming back for a slice of pie. If you're in the area, I recommend you stopping by. Ikeda is loved for a reason!

They have a full kitchen menu so we tried out both of their Wagyu burgers. I liked my Wagyu smash burger a little more than the gourmet wagyu burger. They both came with veggies and were the same price so it's just a matter of preference on the style of burger patty. But both were cooked nicely and I liked the fresh veggies. They still have their signature pies and market side for all kinds of little goodies and market items to buy. I loved that they had so many milkshake options too, I wanted them all! I ended up going with the fresh peach one just because it was in season and it didn't disappoint. It was perfectly sweet and peachy but not in the artificial way. I just wish I had enough room to get the POG freeze, but next time! They have plenty of seating outside if you want to eat your meal and or dessert right away. I'll definitely keep this location in mind when we are in the area again.

When you walk up to Crooked Lane Brewing, you notice the exquisite architecture. It stands out, as it should! When you get a little closer, you notice the big tinted windows and a beautiful patio for outdoor seating. **Bonus!! They are pet friendly for the patio area! When you walk in, it's vibrant, very modern with very high ceilings. It's a very big a spacious area with long tables and tall chairs throughout. There is a long bar top with tall chairs, too. Behind them, is a window where you can see the fermentation vessels. **fun fact Throughout the various stages of brewing, the beer is moved between a few different specialized tanks, each with a specific name. My friend was already there, and I walked up to the front and checked out their beer lists. I really liked that they had craft hard seltzers. Those are so delicious in a hot summer day. I went with the pomegranate raspberry orange... aka, the Pro! They had plenty to choose from. They were nice enough to give me a few tasters. They also offer a few wines and they had 2 frozen icee machines twirling with frozen Lemon Berry Seltzer and frozen lemonade I walked with my drink to sit with my friend. While looking around, I saw that they sell the chips from a local merchant called The Crazy Gringo.. who I have purchased salsa/tamales from at the Auburn Faith Farmers Market (Thursdays). There are shirts, snacks, mugs, and more. A wedding just happened to finish on the other side where there is more outdoor seating. **Bonus, this is a great place for big gatherings whether it's a birthday or another type of gathering, book it here!! While sitting and chatting, you can smell their delicious pizza. So I walked up to grab a menu and ended up ordered the pepperoni & sausage pizza.... yes, with ranch! They brought it out to us with cheese and peppers, too. I would compare it to a small size, definitely bigger than a personal size pizza. Great amount of toppings... mmm!! This one is pretty good. It was great without ranch, but I had to try their ranch and that was tasty. We hung out there for a while and it really started to get busy. Sometimes, there is a taco truck outside and it smells super good Crooked Lane Brewery is family-friendly and offers beer flights. They have a few TVs for sports. The food here is limited as there is no in-house kitchen, but features rotating food trucks. In house they offer pizzas, small bites appetizers, salad and sandwiches.
