This is our families go to breakfast place. They have something for everyone including me who doesn't generally like breakfast or diners. I enjoy their beef hash and the soups and my daughter goes for the kids pancakes or soup. It can get pretty busy on weekends but if you can get a seat it is very worth trying this place out! read more

For me, sometimes I crave really good diner food from the past that is simple, well prepared, and just tastes good. That's what this place is like, great food from a different time. Went in to have breakfast with my boys. What place can go wrong with pancakes right? Wrong, this place served us pancakes that tasted like they were made with spoiled milk. They were absolutely disgusting. When I told our waitress about the problem, she said we weren't the first to complain. That another customer had just complained and knowing that about the pancakes, they still served us pancakes anyway?. Were they hoping we wouldn't notice. First timer this past Friday Aug 23rd and this place was on my Yelp so mom and I decided to try it. Mom doesn't like uppity places so Ed's was perfect!! We were greeted by a young man as he opened the door for us and he found us a booth in the back. The place was full outside and inside. They have vintage aircraft decor and maps of old Azusa and I'm sure nearby cities on each table. Our server was Belen but all the servers were equally as sweet! Visited this place on a Sunday around 11ish. Upon walking in the guy who greeted us asked if we wanted to sit outside or inside, we said outside. He proceeded to ask one of the girl workers if one of the tables were cleaned off and asked her to wipe it off for us. He was nice. She had a problem with it, you could tell she didn't want to do it by her attitude responding. We walked with her to the table and she told us she would bring us a menu. 10 minutes go by and she passes by and the table next to us tells her that they haven't seen their waitress in a while and if they could get a refill on their water. She goes and gets them their water and still doesn't bring us a menu. Every time she passes by us her back is turned. She comes back and gives them their water and they ask if they could pay inside, again doesn't acknowledge us. Another 10-15 minutes pass by, she isn't back from taking their payment.... I see another across bringing people food and another guy waiter checking in on people's food. I raised my hand to try and get attention, he proceeded playing with his fingers and looked around and walked back inside. At this point we have been waiting for a half an hour JUST to get a menu, that my boyfriend and I just got up and left at this point. We said we'd never give this place a try again. With dining on the street it appears that Eds had doubled their business in the morning, this is great for Ed , but the service has really fallen off, I understand that it's hard to find staff, but two servers to cover inside and out is not enough, and double the Business and not the staff effects the quality of the food, my protein was not cooked, my wife hash browns weren't hot,her eggs were cold,like her plate sat waiting for mine . First time visited this place and most likely our last. Wait time was reasonable and severs were great. However, this place is very dingy. You can see the layers of dust on every frame on the walls. And there are lots of frames, so just imagine. I got grossed out eating our breakfast unfortunately I didn't notice the dust until after we had ordered our food. We visited Ed's for the first time this weekend. Got a table rather quickly, but that's the end of the good. I understand that times are different these days, but there's no excuse for horrible service. They were out of iced tea. Out of Tabasco. Out of sourdough bread. We had to flag down servers on several occasions. Omelette was way over cooked and potatoes were mushy. We were left unattended for 15-20 minutes waiting for our check. My husband had to go in and ask for it. Another ten minutes goes by. No check. Husband goes back to ask again and finds our server eating at the counter. I am new to Ed's place having only first tried it a few months ago. Every time I have ordered the food is delicious, the portions are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. Today, I placed a to-go order and then went across the street to Classic Coffee where I had a terrible experience. When I came back some 20 minutes later, visibly shaken from the frustration I was feeling, the waitress immediately greeted me and asked what happened. I shared only that I had been at the coffee shop the whole time and my order was never filled. She was very apologetic, even though neither her nor her business had done anything wrong. She showed true empathy and even offered me a coffee to try and make me feel better. She did not have to do that and I told her it was fine, she was great and didn't need to do anything extra for me. But she insisted. The staff at Ed's always makes me feel welcome and demonstrates how to be great members of this small community we live in. I am extremely grateful that at least this small businesses understands how to treat people with kindness and respect. I encourage you to give Ed's Place a try next time you are downtown. Happy find! Finding a good biscuits & gravy spot in So Cal can some times be difficult. Look no further. Biscuits are fresh, soft and buttery. Gravy was yummy traditional sausage style. My sister got pigs in a blanket and the sausage were the big, hearty links. She said they were tasty. Kids received free refills on their drinks. We found this place on Yelp when my dad said "I could really use a good waffle." So I opened the app, and typed in waffle. I said "Hey Dad, there's this place in downtown Glendora that sells waffles. I don't know if they're good though." So my dad was spontaneous (he's not usually like that), and drove on over there. We were shocked as we walked in to find this super tiny little diner that barely had any room to sit any customers. We sat at the bar, which was spotted with obvious regulars. I was starving. I wanted everything on the menu. I ended up with biscuits and gravy. I hemmed and hawed about getting corned beef hash, but I'm picky about it and didn't want to be disappointed (turns out it's the exact kind I love). Biscuits and gravy were great. My dad got the waffles. And every time I see him since we've been there (about a month ago) he says "That one place in Glendora has great waffles. They're perfect." MICHELLE has been our waitress the last few times we've eaten here and we have complaints. she sat us at a dirty table close to the kitchen, we waited 15-20 minutes hoping she would eventually get to us but no. the other waitress, Jessica, kindly asked us if we had been helped yet, we said no and she got our waitress to finally take our food order. every time we come in and get michelle it's not enjoyable because other times we get our food with no silverware, no refills, we wait forever for our check. while we notice she stands talking to other tables and ignores everyone else. we don't not like her as a waitress, flagging her down for everything gets annoying. we'd much rather wait and have the other waitress instead! McKenzie is awesome and we always request to sit in her section. Try the pancakes they are fluffy, buttery goodness and the bacon is cooked perfectly.
