This probably the 5th time I visited this location. Staff members are always very friendly and attentive. Unfortunately this time our food took a lot longer to come out. Two other tables that arrived after us had their food served before we did. We started to get impatient and even our waitress started to notice it as well. She came over to us and was very apologetic and said that food was backed up and it will be out shortly. Finally after our food was served and we finished, she came over with the check and told us there has been a 20% on our bill. Even and the front counter the manager apologized and offered a gift card for the inconvenience. No need to stress out at this place or complain. They will take care of you. And Heather is very nice! I've heard great things about EHC over the years, yet I never made it to one. Fast-forward to an ultra busy day at Wildberry (wait was bordering on two hours) and we were hungry -- too hungry to wait. We walked right back out and drove down to EHC and were seated within 25 minutes. The packed lobby led us to believe it would be much longer, but they move people FAST. Prices are on par with Wildberry, although Wildberry has a more creative menu (crepes, etc.). Egg Harbor does have more expensive coffee, and that put me off from ordering one. We had: 1) Dynamite Veggie Egg White Omelet 2) Garden Delight Omelette 3) Winter in Italy French Toast The omelets were good, and the Winter in Italy NAILED it. Really, really good. Interesting ingredients and flavours. I could never eat a whole plate of it, but I couldn't resist slicing a piece from my friend's plate, haha. Yum. Egg Harbor Cafe is a Denny's that isn't trying to kill you; in fact, they're pretty nice! We chose to dine for brunch during the week. The restaurant wasn't full, but it wasn't crowded either. Our family had plenty of privacy to chat amongst ourselves. Not too hungry, I chose 'Cassie's Crêpes' for my meal. These were wonderful. Normally, you could expect a crepe to be either sweet or savory, yet these were right in the middle and quite delicious. Try them, if that's what you're in to. The décor, as you might have predicted, was largely egg-themed, right down to the placemats. Perfect spot for brunch. Although it's usually pretty busy and they don't take reservations, waiting time is only 15-20 minutes on 4th of July morning. We got the Harbor Signature pancakes and Smoky Mountain scrambler, both are fresh and tasty. They also serve Intelligentsia coffee, which is a big plus point too. read more

Kinda let down by this place after reading rave reviews. While service here is very prompt, some of it just felt very rushed and snippy. One of the servers had a bored/cold demeanor when she asked if everything was okay. Not exactly inviting. Interior is cozy and inviting, though, with plenty of seats available at the time I came in. The food itself is delicious, though. I had the Chorizo Chilaquiles, which had a decent amount of spice, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Had a side of potatoes which were pretty standard. Would have had a side of fruit too, if the waitress who served me bothered to remember I ordered it. Forgetfulness happens, but being too brisk about service also does lead to carelessness. I would actually come in again to try more of their offerings! Maybe second time around will do the trick. read more

I like this place mostly for the service. All the staff is kind from the moment we walk through the door. There is always a wait but they invite you to grab coffee from the front cafe while you wait. Our servers name was David and he was so kind and attentive! His energy was amazing too, just what we needed to wake up and start the day. He recommended the strawberry OJ which lived up to the hype and he kept the coffee hot, and brought to go cups for the coffee as we left! He also made sure we had enough sour cream and Jam that came with our meals which was an extra thoughtful touch that most servers don't think to ask about. Essentially what I'm saying is that if you want great service, come to here. But if you want exceptional service, ask to be seated in David's area. You won't be disappointed! Tasty food, but the abysmal service isn't really worth it. Three of us went for breakfast on a Sunday. We were quoted 15-20 minutes yet we ended up waiting for close to 40 minutes as countless other parties were sat before us. When we asked the host, he said we were next, yet even more people were sat ahead of us. When we were eventually seated, we waited about another 10 minutes for a server to show up. She took our order - which included 3 coffees - and disappeared for 20 minutes. We had to flag down another server to see where our coffee was. About 10 minutes later (up to waiting a total of 30 minutes for any real service), our food arrived with no drinks. We had exhausted the measly carafe of water that was left 20 minutes prior, so we had to start eating food with nothing to drink. Our server returned with a small carafe of coffee finally, but at that point we were already halfway finished eating. She only came with one small thing of cream for three of us and asked if we wanted more - um, yes we do. She disappeared again for about 5 minutes and finally came back, this time with cream and our check. It was clear she was over it. No offer of getting us anything else. This was the first time for my family and I and we really enjoyed it. The blueberry cobbler coffee smelled great and tasted just as good. My daughters got the Italian style french toast (beautiful and very tasty) and a combo with blueberry pancakes and scrambled eggs & sausage. My wife got the granola pancake special, also with scrambled eggs and sausage. And I got the cinnamon role french toast combo, again with eggs over hard & sausage. 5/5 for the food. Pretty much everything on the menu tastes fresh and delicious. Consistent service, even when busy. -3 for pretending they have a mask policy. Signs on the door demand they be worn, but it's not enforced in any way, shape or form. They've taken down a third of the booth barriers, and employees working the coffee counter have them halfway down. A third or half the customers amble around the restaurant following employees and walking past employees without a mask. I get it. Your political affiliations and Facebook research trump science. At least take the sign off the door, so those of us who are high risk have forewarning to eat elsewhere. read more

Well first of all I am not a breakfast person so, I will rate this restaurant as just as normal as a place to eat eggs. I don't think any wow factor in their food but the service is fine and decent. The eggs are small in size similar to a large size quails eggs. The only good thing is the pancakes which they might have served me a crepes. Taste good but small again. If you are crazy about breakfast then this may be your restaurant and make sure you bring your favorite Starbucks coffee with you. I tried twice and this may be my last time. Me and my friends decided we wanted to eat some nice breakfast and Egg Harbour because we would always go there. We got to the Cafe and everything was going really smoothly but when we were sat down, our server treated us like we were kids. She gave us kids sized drinks which we did not ask for and talked to us in a babying way. Overall, the food was DELICIOUS!! We stopped here with a group of 10 (four of which were kids) a few Sunday's back and as expected, we had a 45 minute wait at about 10:30. We went in expecting that with such a large party. As for food - it was really good. I had the Geneva Rosti - a Swiss traditional of eggs, bacon, onions, potatoes all baked together. It was served with sour cream and a side of fruit and an English muffin (with I believe homemade jelly). I really loved my dish and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to try something a little different for breakfast. My husband had some sort of Santa Fe scrambler/skillet with jalapenos and peppers and onions that he also really liked. The others around the table also had different skillets or pancakes and everyone liked their dish. Our server was good - especially given the large party and it being busy with Sunday brunch. This is a fantastic breakfast place. It is organic and cage free focused. I had the lobster and crab scrambler. My wife had the tuna melt. Both came with harbor (cubed) potatoes. They were fantastic. Previous great experience made me stop by a second time to have husband see what all the rave was about. Unfortunately this time around it was anything but great. We were promptly seated at our table with a pitcher of iced water and our menus, only to be ignored by wait staff for over 10 minutes. No cups were ever brought to our table. The wait would not have been an issue any other time except today we were with our 1 year old toddler which made our time more limited. This was an excellent choice for our first breakfast in the greater Chicago area!!! Staff was very friendly and helpful! And the food was fabulous!!! Hubby had the Habanero Hash Skillet and he was very pleased that it was very spicy!!! So often he is disappointed when ordering supposedly spicy entrees!!! I had the Kale Yeah Skillet and it was delicious!! More than I could eat!!! The fresh squeezed orange juice and the house made jam we're both great!! Restaurant review What an amazing new brunch restaurant. I really want to go to wild berry but my sister-in-law insisted that we try this new breakfast restaurant. We were lucky because he went on December 28 which was their 30th anniversary. They had a variety of special deals that were was only one for one day. Intelligentsia coffee was only $.60 it came in a nice thermos kept it hot throughout the meal. In addition I was able to get two different entrées. One was the Shauna sun-up which was yogurt with granola and strawberries and bananas. This was likely the best yogurt parfait I ever had. I didn't get a chance to try the homemade banana bread which is included with this entrée. I also tried the meggsican frittata. This included eggs chorizo onions and melted cheese which was topped with sour cream and tomatoes. Although I didn't really care from a flour tortilla the rest of it was quite delicious. For the price of 4.95 that day it was quite a deal. The normal price is a low bit more than that for each of those. The server was quite friendly and she came in to check to make sure that our meal was okay. I'll be the definately come back for breakfast some other time. Being a newly transformed nutritarian who cheats with eggs and dairy frequently, this place has some great options for vegetarians! The veggie delight skillet is great. Assorted with sweet potatoes, zucchini, avocado, black beans and red pepper, topped with mozzarella cheese and eggs cooked to your preference. I requested spinach and mushrooms in addition to include daily nutritarian dietary requirements! It was delicious! You're given a wheat English muffin and homemade berry purée. The purée is not overly sweet but just right! Maybe it could do with even less sugar, but it's fine now too. The only thing I would change if I were to come and order this again (which is likely), I would request a lesser amount of sweet potatoes and an increase of the green stuff! I realize this is the base, but they are overly filling and I could not finish them! Not to mention, although better than white potatoes, they are still a starch! This past Sunday we enjoyed an awesome breakfast at the new Egg Harbor in Schaumburg. We arrived and as expectetd it was packed. I went in to check the wait for four and they said no more than 15 to 20 mins. Not bad for 10am on Sunday however I couldnt believe we would be sat in under 30 mins. We waited outside bc it was sunny out and they have these great heated lamps to stand near when cold - perfect thoughtful touch! We were called for our table only 13mins later! Whaaaat?? How? Well we sat and we immediately greeted and asked for a drink order. They have water available before you sit and everyone is extremely friendly. We spoke with three waitresses ensuring our visit was going well...but we only had one server. Amazing! They genuinely cared and it was so nice to see teamwork like this. We ordered and our food tool maybe 10 mins tops and it was served to order (bc we are annoying and went back and forth on what we wanted) My kids were so excited about the menu they couldn't maket up their mind! Adorable. One ordered Green Eggs and Ham bc she couldn't believe that was a realy thing!! ;-) lol and the other ordered the rainbow pancakes - which even I thought was delish. Never ran out of napkins drinks or anything. They were very prompt and efficient. I didn't feel rushed as all. They all just worked great together to turn their tables. Can't wait to return! I was here today, for Mother's Day, let's be honest- they're the best in the area for breakfast and brunch. I've met up with my friends here for years. The wait times today were certainly longer than average but these guys were so accommodating, polite, customer focused, and honest - how can I not be a tad more patient than usual and still love my experience?? The food was still fantastic and my drinks were refilled, we were double and triple checked on after the food came out. I had 2 separate milks brought to me for my coffee because I'm on a diet restriction with no issues. The owner was so personable - I couldn't imagine any small business not being a bit behind schedule today but they rocked it. They had my business before, but now they REALLY have it. Not all egg harbors are created equally. I've been to most of the egg harbors in the Chicago area, and until today I they were all the same. They look about the same, and I believe the menu is the same....but it's not. Before I sat and ate my food, I was thinking I could already write my Yelp review by saying egg harbor is the best. Every one of the egg harbors I've been to have all been great. I was very disappointed with this location. Nothing seemed the same as the other locations. Great place to go to for breakfast! But they're usually packed on the weekends, so be prepared to wait a bit for a table and for your food. But other than that the place is great!
