The wait wasn't long and the workers were chipper~ The food overall was good~ Personally, I don't think there was anything special though; the avocado toast tastes exactly like an avocado toast - could make it at home type~ The French toast was a bit dry but still sweet. Great breakfast spot! The food is very good so it's not surprising that it is always busy. Seems like getting a table for more than 4 people is close to impossible, so plan accordingly. I really enjoyed the classic Benedict and the Incredible Hulk green smoothie. The space is cute and clean but the service is a bit scattered, but probably because it's always busy. This is a cute brunch place right on Chestnut street close to Front st. I went here with my daughter around 11am on a Friday and it was pretty busy. They had about 3 empty tables, but it took the server well over 5 minutes for us to get seated. There was only one server still getting the order from 2 tables so I understood with staff shortages they were doing what they can do. However, it would have been nice just to be acknowledged that they see us and they will get to us soon. During this waiting process one of the customer ahead of us left because of the wait. Once we got seated everything went smoothly. I ordered their eggzilla, and rose oolong tea, and my daughter ordered Philly Benny. The food came out relatively fast, and the service was attentive. My order was supposed to come with avocado, but didn't (no big deal in the end, but kind of sad). Aside from this mishap the food was very good, flavourful, and plenty. I really loved how they cooked up their potatoes - really crispy exterior, but moist interior. My daughter also enjoyed her dish, Philly Benny; it was filled with thinly shaved beef, poached eggs over brioche buns with hollandaise sauce. Really cute brunch place that specializes in eggs. I love the yellow door in front as it's bright and cheery. I wasn't feeling too hungry and I'm also not a huge spice person until the morning so I wanted something light enough but provide enough energy for a later lunch. Decided to get the De Olde Omelette as there wasn't any jalapeños listed on the menu. Menu was also accessed via QR code though I did see some physical menus also. Food came in and it looked really good. I liked that they didn't overwhelm the play with potatoes as that's usually a tactic to get the customer full. The omelet was good but it had jalapeños in it which I did not want or expect. I don't know if this was in error or if it originally had jalapeños and it just wasn't listed in the menu but it's not okay. Service was pretty fast. They refilled my waters and took my order fairly quickly. Floors were kind of slippery (not sure if they waxed their floor recently?) and food came out quickly too. To pay, they come to your table and you pay with a credit card. Important question -- would I come back? And the answer is yes I could come back to try the other dishes but I would want to make sure I knew everything that was going on my plate. read more

This place is BUSY, so be prepared for a wait during popular hours. A friend and I were able to snag 2 seats at this little counter at the very front of the restaurant that was very well decorated. The food here is not only good, but also very reasonably priced. I ordered the deconstructed lox (lox, arugula salad, tomato, cream cheese, bagel, $13) and my friend got the Eggsplicit (egg, bacon, tomato, avocado, cream cheese on a bagel, $11). I work for a company that likes to feed us. On the most recent occasion we got breakfast items. You could choose bacon, sausage or egg burritos or a chorizo taco of which there were few. When I selected the taco I was told I was lucky. Really??? I thought. It's just sausage , what could possibly be a big deal. Well I was lucky and it was a big deal. So much so that I had to ask my boss where on earth did it come from and he replied with a smile, "The Eggcelent Cafe". These tacos of well seasoned fried chorizo, soft and fluffy scrambled eggs, a splathering of chichuahua cheese, pico de gallo and a killer cilantro lime crema aioli we're so delicious they stayed on my mind for days afterwards. The first chance I got I sprang right up to their doorstep and very greedily placed two orders of the same tacos, one for now and one for later. Looking over the menu I could easily see other items I would definitely be ordering in the future. While I waited I took in the decor which was really nice and inviting. They have a variety of tables tables, a two person counter area facing the front window and even a sunny little nook next to the entrance that makes for a lovely chill spot. The Mexi Hash tasted very fresh with each of the numerous vegetables, the applewood smoked bacon and the eggs being prominent to just the right extent. Food - 4/5 the food was tasty and didnt take long once seated. I got the mexi hash and it was good! It comes on a bed of arugula. The bacon is great. Service - 2.5/5 there was an altercation between a waitress and customer while we were there, it included yelling and slamming on the table. We appreciate the owner coming to address the incident with customers and apologize for the disturbance. Overall the service was OK, not very attentive and didn't come back to checkin. They add a 20% gratuity already. Ambiance 3/5 - LOUD! Loud noise and loud talking. Not my preference for brunch with others. The wait was about 30 min. The eggceptional was the perfect brunch sandwich/burger with a lil kick to it. I highly recommend getting this! My friend really enjoyed her breakfast burrito as well. Didn't love it. My breakfast sandwich was tasty, the Eggspanola, but messy. The best part of the egg is the yolk, but whether biting or cutting into this sandwich, the yolk sprayed out, creating a big mess, and I struggled to get someone's attention to get me napkins to clean it up myself. Service was lackluster. I don't mind an online menu with a QR code, but it doesn't work well with a long menu of similar items. Paper is still the best way to compare the Eggceptional (with pork sausage) to the Jerzy Roll (with spicy pork roll). The server never checked in with me, and they charge for refills of drip coffee. Then again, maybe the baby boomers are the last generation to expect free refills of anything, and we're dying out like the last of the Eggiesauruses. read more

I got the citron Yuzu tea which was definitely the concentrate with hot water poured over. Still pretty good. The breakfast burrito was flavorful and delicious. I added turkey bacon to it. Nothing super spectacular. The outside had a nice crunch and the flavors blend well. I picked some of the egg out to see if it was special in any way, it was just egg lol. In the search for breakfast/brunch perfection this is the spot. Well done PA! As a New Yorker straddling Queens and Brooklyn as my playground. There is no shortage of good food. However, breakfast and brunch are always tricky. This place was a god send away from home. Friendly staff and tasty food. You cannot ask for more. Note that there could be a wait time depending on how busy it gets but your patience would be well rewarded. Try the Veggie Delight Omelette (hopefully I got the name right) beautiful balance of taste. I wish I had something like this in walking distance from the crib in NYC. I would be a regular. PSA.
