    Famous Avocado Truffle Toast
    Hayden D.

Finally went for breakfast after passing by so many times. The inside is very cute and bustling. The service is very friendly and pretty quick for how many people there are. The food came out very fast I was impressed. It was also delicious and the portions were very well sized. Overall a great place for breakfast or lunch!

Owner/manager is literally so sweet, always chatting with customers, checking in, and giving recommendations! Their hibiscus lemonade I wouldn't write home about it but good enough. Our sandwiches were the same. We also got the French toast but we were full from the sandwiches! French toast was a little thick for me but I know for some people that would be perfect! There were lots of regulars, so clearly the place is popular! Go and try them out.

Good prompt service! If you like eggs made in so many different ways, this is the place for you. I had the veggie Supreme wrap (around $16) and it was very tasty; light like what I needed for a breakfast. It had a good amount of egg, Avocado, onion, Mushroom and spinach. In my opinion, i would like a bit more flavoring with salt and pepper. There was some dressing dripping from it so I'm not sure if it's good to take on the go. They had ample seating but when me and my friend got there at 9am; we had a brief wait of like 12 minutes to get a table. I would definitely recommend!

Decided to try Eggcellent after being in the mood for brunch and seeing a couple of promising posts on TikTok, it was great! To start, I ordered a honey suckle latte and my bf ordered a Vietnamese coffee. We would rate both 8/10. Both solid. For food we ordered: Truffle avocado toast: 10/10. This is VERYYY truffle forward and I love it . You could smell it coming before it even hit the table. If you aren't a big fan of truffle I would stay away from it. Side of home fries: 10000/10. Some of the best in the city! Chicken crunch bowl: 7/10. Not bad, but nothing that you can't make at home. Our server was super sweet and helpful with recommendations. I do wish water was served and refilled consistently throughout the meal instead of having to ask for it (this appeared to be the case for every table, not just us) Overall I would return and would love to try the delicious looking French toast everyone around us was ordering!

Super busy spot but did the best to give the best and fastest service. Love coming here for breakfast! Yellow interior wakes me up and keeps me smiling while I'm there!

Interior-- good seating available for small and large groups.

Had an impromptu morning breakfast with friends here early on a Monday morning. As expected, crowds were little to none, and was mostly the group of cops enjoying their morning shift breakfast. This is my second time here in the past few years. Table services was great. Ordering was fast once all of us arrived, and we got our food shortly afterwards. Food is pretty delicious, and there's a good variety on the menu. I was so ready to start eating that I forgot to snap a picture, but our table ordered a Mexi Hash, Iron Hash, and the Eggsplosion Burger. Overall, food is delicious. I think the portion size to price ratio is a bit wanting, especially if you're just looking for a simple breakfast, but it does seem more reasonably priced for brunch if that's what your coming here for. Ambience is great-- a bit small, but I love the brightly colored walls. Definitely helps with waking up. Heads up that parking is a bit tight, but if you're coming anywhere into Old City you should just expect that at this point, and it's of no fault to the business.

They were busy when we went. Put our name on the list and then they texted when the table was ready. The food was delicious. Loved the potatoes and my sandwich, although the aioli on my sandwich was spicier than I expected. The staff were nice but they seemed very frazzled. It almost seemed as if they needed to have 1 more person on staff during their brunch rush... We actually got our food before our drinks, were not offered water when we sat down (and the couple next to us seemed to feel the same) It's a cute space, although there's not really space to wait inside out of the cold for your table.

Mexi hash skillet was to die for. And the Nutella latte was phenomenal I'm from NY and don't think there are brunches that match the quality and value this place has It is a bit of a wait though; especially for groups of 3 or more (prob 45 min on a weekend, put your name down), but well worth the wait

The brekkie bahn mi blew me away. This was a delicious combination of your classic bahn mi with a breakfast sandwich. They have a cash discount here, though small.

Eggcellent Café definitely lives up to its name! The French toast topped with fresh strawberries and blueberries was absolutely delicious, and the scrambled egg whites with spicy pork sausage and fries hit the spot. Even the Arnold Palmer was eggceptional! Great food, friendly service, and a place I'll definitely be coming back to. Highly recommend!

The service was amazing, such kind and friendly staff even though they were so busy. I also loved the ambiance - very warm, welcoming, comfortable, and upbeat. The food was great with big portions and good flavor! The prices are also AMAZING!!! Definitely will be a go to for us

My gf brought me here while we were hanging out to celebrate my bday. This place does not take reservations so we walked in, signed in, and were seated within about 15 mins of arriving - this was on a Saturday, summer morning, before 11am. While we waited, we viewed the menu so that we could eat as soon as we were seated. I ordered a Clucker Benny and my friend ordered a small stack of pancakes with a side of cheese and eggs and potatoes. Everything was delightful and was a healthy serving size for both my friend and I. The place is small; service was fairly quick; the prices seemed reasonable although I didn't see the bill. If it's not too crowded, it's definitely worth a short wait... Side note: I don't recall seeing any turkey products on the menu but they do serve chicken (FYI to those who don't eat pork.)

We walked into Eggcellent cafe without a reservation on a Sunday morning and it was packed! We had to sign in using a kiosk to be added to the waiting list. It is much smaller inside than anticipated. After about a 12 minute wait we were seated at two seats at the window looking out to passers by. I ordered a cup of coffee ( 2/10) and De Olde Taco-(Shaved Rib Eye, Onion, Chihuahua Cheese, Scrambled Eggs, Spicy Chipotle Ketchup, Pico de Gallo, Cilantro, Scallion on Flour Taco shell, served with Breakfast Potatoes) 9/10.

Frida's in Old City Philadelphia -- Restaurant Pros…read moreFrida's is a wonderful little find in Old City Philadelphia. The location is excellent--just a couple of blocks from Independence Hall, making it a perfect place to stop for breakfast, brunch, coffee, or something freshly baked while exploring the historic area. Everything we ordered was freshly made, delicious, and served with care. We tried the Quiche Lorraine, which had an exceptionally flaky, buttery crust and was served with a small fresh salad. The dressing was excellent too. We also tried the baker's basket, including the croissants and scones. They had a slightly different recipe and flavor than we were accustomed to, but they were absolutely delicious and clearly made with care. The homemade jam was another standout--it was so good that I would recommend taking some home if you have the opportunity. The American omelet was also freshly prepared and brought to the table hot. We also enjoyed a freshly made cappuccino and black coffee. My son ordered the chorizo, and he said it was the best chorizo he has ever tasted anywhere. It was truly delicious! The customer service was excellent. The waitstaff were friendly, attentive, and helpful without being intrusive. Frida's has a charming, cozy, boutique-like atmosphere that combines a restaurant, coffee shop, and bakery. Pricing was average, about $20-30 per person. Cons: Honestly, we couldn't find any! However, the restroom could have been cleaner I highly recommend Frida's to anyone visiting Old City Philadelphia. The freshness and quality of the food really stood out, and you can tell that the baked goods and other dishes are prepared with care. It's a charming place in a fantastic location, and definitely worth a visit while exploring Philadelphia's historic district.

They pretty much all smiled but my server she was a bit slower to check on me or come back around... Had to wait a while to ask for the chec too ... Ordered their egg white omelette. This was pretty good. Needs a bit more punch of flavor though. Got the breakfast potatoes too. Some were hard as a rock while others had a nice crispy outside and soft inside. It was seasoned well. Id actually get that again. The Bangkok tea was yummy. I sadly got the fruit cup..the fruit seemed like it was cut a day or 2 ago. The multi grain toast was cut just a bit tooooooo thick. The butter wasn't anything great. Came with this watery jam too. I ordered their chocolate espresso cake for dinner tonight. Just hope that is good. Decent spot if you're in the area. There are much better places near by too though.

The drinks range from $6 to 8, which is within the average for coffees, teas and lattes now. I opted for the 16oz original viet coffee and added salt cold foam (0.50 upcharge) They also have limited drinks such as the pandan coffee and matcha and banhi mi sandwiches. The ice to liquid ratio was ideal- the small ice kept my drink cold while I walking around Chinatown and didn't dilute the coffee. The cold foam had the perfect amount of salt and the coffee was bold and smooth. Lastly, foam also didn't degrade into my coffee after minutes! I hope I'm able to sleep later, hehe. At least one medical professional told me that I could have been at risk of bleeding out (dying) if the situation was slightly worse. And who knows if this hotel uses the same model shower door for more than just one of their rooms? The hotel's management did not call me to ensure my safety, apologize for the horror that they have put me through, or do their utmost to ensure that I am compensated for the horror that I was forced to experience at their establishment and it's been nearly a full calendar month since the incident with no successful proactive contact from them. Other than this horrifying experience which can likely happen to any of their other guests who decide to shower in their establishments the experience was beautiful. Very nice hotel room. Note the server did tell us the kitchen had a small spoonful left of black beans and divided it between my two sons...still was charged full price for the meal.  Finally, I was able order a Greek salad that came out with just lettuce leaves, a tablespoon of diced tomatoes, dusting of feta, and two peppers. I asked for the rest of the ingredients listed on the menu to which they were brought out. Not sure why they weren't on the salad to start. I had one small piece of lettuce on my beyond burger which was supposed to come with lettuce onion and tomatoes. The fries were wet.  All in all, dont come hungry to this place. Food was mid at best. Looks like a full bar and so many great games to play, but to say this is an eatery is a stretch.
