    Spinach salad with chicken.

This is a cute spot for brunch in downtown Lewes. My wife, two sons, and I ate in the enclosed outdoor patio as the main restaurant was crowded. My wife enjoyed an omelette with home fries. One of my sons had a salad with chicken. My younger son and I had the artisanal sandwich (chicken with avocado and brioche). To be honest, it was kind of meh. I would stick with traditional items (like the omelette). For the location and service, it's a nice place to dine.

This place was adorable! Limited seating so get there early. The food was fresh and delicious and the coffees were great! We'll be back for sure.

Stylish spot for breakfast! No fuss and fairly good options overall. More gluten free options would be great. Had some friends in town and we decided to go here. Everyone was very satisfied with their orders, my gluten free self included. Would absolutely come back here!

Eggcellent service. Eggcellent food. Lox Egg Benedict and Norwegian Bagel Sammy was amazing. We camp at Cape Henlopen every year and just found this place. We will return for more eggceptional food. Service couldn't have been better. They were extremely accommodating of our party of six.

Nice restaurant in town. Good service. Meals arrived quickly and were really tasty. Large portions, good value. The Strawberry French toast was more than I could eat in one sitting, so I took it home.

5/5 ambiance 5/5 service 3/5 food Really cute spot in Lewes. Lowkey, diner ambiance. Food was mediocre. The granola didn't pair well with the French toast and was stale. There's a lot of potential in this dish, could consider topping with toasted pecans, whipped cream or mousse, and caramel drizzle - remove the granola and raisins.

Came here for brunch on a weekday and was pleasantly surprised to see the restaurant busy with patrons. There were several specials on the menu that were seasonal and available for purchase. Since it was fall I ordered the pumpkin pancakes. The cakes were light and fluffy with a subtle pumpkin flavor. I could have gone for a bit more spice, but I enjoyed them nonetheless. We also ordered a BLT which came out with crispy bacon and a generous serving of avocado. The service was quick and friendly and we enjoyed sitting outside because the weather was mild for November. There were lots of beverages to choose from -- coffee, tea, and chilled drinks. A great spot for breakfast or a relaxing lunch.

Eggcellent is a quaint spot for breakfast best suited to small parties

Bottom Line: Quaint spot for pairs or small parties to have breakfast or lunch. My husband and I had a Sunday morning breakfast at Eggcellent on Market Street. We enjoyed the quaint atmosphere, whimsical artwork, attentive service and variety of breakfast options. My husband enjoyed a huge omelette full of veggies and I branched out form my normal high-protein breakfast for French Toast. The French Toast had whipped creamer, fresh berries, granola and cinnamon on it so it was surely a decadent treat. We washed all of that deliciousness down with black coffee. We visited Eggcellent on a Sunday morning in March about 8am and I was surprised that it wasn't very busy. I suspect the crowds come later. Hopefully those crowds come in parties of two or four because Eggcellent is rather small and probably only seats about 45 people between a few tables on the front porch, a back patio (I think) and the tables inside. In other words, I wouldn't bring my rowdy friends here for breakfast but I certainly enjoyed Eggcellent for a peaceful and delicious start to the day and I'd be happy to return.

Food was Eggcellent. Our waiter was excellent. We needed pet friendly location after our camping trip and this was perfect. We were in a sun room. We'll be back !

This small café has a cozy outdoor seating area where we decided to sit. We were seated right away, and our waiter was very kind. We ordered avocado toast with two eggs and just the right amount of sliced potatoes on both dishes. I went with the veggie omelette with American cheese, which was cooked just right. Afterward, it's easy to walk around and explore the nearby shops. Parking is conveniently located about a five-minute walk away.

We went here today for lunch and were seated immediately even though it was crowded, which was great! We all had sandwiches and they came with fries. Their fries were very crispy and yummy! We all really enjoyed our sandwiches as well! We will come back again for breakfast when we are in Lewes.

The inside of the room was updated and looks much better than what it looked like under Jerry's. The menu is small but everything looked pretty good. They had a print out of all the oysters that have to offer, I think it was at least 8 different types, with a description of what they taste like. I would say their description was spot on. Half a dozen oysters were $18. I liked the mignonette that came with it in a dropper bottle. Very nice touch. I also got the jumbo shrimp cocktail and boardwalk fries. The shrimp were huge, like 2-3 bites worth and the cocktail sauce was perfectly balanced. I didn't care for the boardwalk fries, they were dry and the old bay & vinegar seasoning was good but hardly noticeable. Lastly, our server was friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back here again! One last thing, I took a star off for the bartender with his hair tied back, who was singing along with the alt rock songs that were playing in the restaurant. Loudly. And for an excessively long time. It was so weird. He just kept singing for 2 songs.

As soon as you walk in, you can feel that polished, higher end atmosphere, and the canal views make for a really nice setting. I went during the off season in early March and caught their Wednesday night Steak and Cake special. For $36 you get a six ounce filet mignon, a crab cake, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a Caesar salad. For a restaurant of this caliber, that's a pretty solid deal. The Caesar salad came out fresh and crisp, and for the first time ever I noticed something you rarely see anymore -- two small sardine strips on top, which is actually the traditional way to serve a true Caesar. The entree was nicely plated. The filet was ordered medium. Parts of it were cooked perfectly and very tender, though a couple bites were a little chewy. The crab cake was the highlight. Very meaty with minimal filler, which is exactly what you want this close to the Delaware coast. Mashed potatoes had that homemade style with a few lumps. Some people love that rustic feel, though I personally prefer them a little smoother. The green beans were simply steamed but had great flavor. Service was excellent. My waitress Kim was friendly, attentive, and very accommodating. The restaurant itself was clean and well kept, including the restrooms. Overall, a very enjoyable meal with great flavor across the board. I'd definitely come back and would be curious to see what the atmosphere is like here during the busy summer season.

The mahi mahi special was good, maybe a little dry, but I really enjoyed the bed of wild rice that it was served with, a little chew and lots of rich flavor. The disappointment of the night was the brisket - I suppose after having brisket from Texas, you're forever spoiled and can't help but judge everything to that standard. It was dry and a little tough, not a lot of flavor. Overall highly recommend, this remind one of my favorite Lewes restaurants.

Once I saw shrimp and grits on the menu, I immediately zeroed in on that. I love shrimp and grits going back to my Winchester days. I also like that they give you eight big pieces of shrimp. Not like other restaurants that only give you two or four prawns and call it a day. The crab bisque is good too. A tasty soup that works well this time of year. Even though it was cold the first go around, the second one tasted hot and fresh. Of course it would taste good. The Delmarva region is abundant in crabs. Just as I would expect a clam chowder to taste great in New England or Manhattan. One thing to nitpick, it should come with oyster crackers, not saltines. Large wooden barrels, ship steering wheels, mounted fish and nets adorn the walls and accent the dark wooden furniture and color palette. There is a diverse menu, but when I'm in town with friends and family...I keep it simple. I'll usually start with one of the many beers on draft; check the chalkboard for what's on tap from the ever changing selection. The crab dip is an AMAZING appetizer. Chunks of crab meat are mixed in with cheese, given a quick bake, and served with buttered toast points. Great for sharing. You can also ask for additional pieces of bread (which I usually do) to sop up any residual dip. The bistro burger is nothing fancy...but everything a good pub style burger should be. Honestly, I've had the fish and chips, the fried shrimp, and other seafood dishes, and no suprise, it's all good.
