I was craving a breakfast sandwich and found this little gem. I ordered the scramble sandwich and a freshly squeezed orange juice to go. My order was ready in about 10 minutes. Everything made to order and fresh. The eggs were perfectly scrambled, warm and soft(not dry and over cooked). The brioche bun was still warm once I arrived at my destination which was only a mile or two down the road. The oj was a bit watered down with the ice. I guess I could ask for no ice next time. Arrived at the restaurant 5 minutes before my pick up order was scheduled to be ready and gave them my name and they let me know my order wasn't ready yet. Asked 5 minutes later and not ready again, asked 10 minutes later to see them pull my order from the shelf that had been sitting there since before I arrived. As a vegetarian who eats eggs, I found the "Scramble" (cage-free soft scrambled eggs and chives, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and spicy mayo in a warm brioche bun) to be delicious and would highly recommend it. In addition, we also ordered Tater Tots and Waffle fries, both of which were pretty good as well. Clean restaurant and bathrooms, no wait for burgers and not too busy - this was around 11-12 on a Weekday. I got the Ultimate Sando which was a brioche bun with 3 eggs, chives, caramelized onion, avocado, pepper jack cheese, sausage and house sauce. The eggs were fluffy and light and they packed the sandwich. The bun was airy and light as well with a buttery taste. Overall the sandwich was a great combination of flavors of savory and sweet but not too sweet. Definitely would eat again, reminded me of a breakfast platter but in a sandwich. Huge portion sizes! We got the chicken sandwich and the ultimate sando. The ultimate sando was your typical breakfast sandwich. What's nice here is that they use a soft brioche bun that's sweet. I do wish they offered some hot sauce or something acidic to balance it since it felt like it was missing something. The chickeen sandwich was delicious with an egg inside. 10 months ago, I wrote a review whereby I pointed out that I was been charged extra for replacing sausage for bacon. The business manager replied right away indicating, that there shouldn't be an extra charge for replacing items. Yesterday, 10/21/2023, I returned to this location, ordered an item and asked to replace the sausage, the cashier, indicated that the replacement can be done for an extra charge...??? Seems that the cashier's are not well trained leading to a disconnect, between the understanding from the business manager's clarification of not charging extra for substitutions and cashier's wanting to charge extra for substitutions ...:( I like the sandwiches, but, don't trust the billing practice, so, better double check for surcharges before paying. read more

The bay area lacks brunch options and those that exist tend to have long wait times. Egghead solves the wait time problem for me and they have multiple locations in the south bay. They are busier on the weekend but the wait is not that long. If you do not prefer to wait, you can also order online for pick up or delivery. While they do not have a traditional brunch menu such as eggs and bacon on a plate, a nice to have, they instead specialize in various egg sandwiches. These are the ones I have tried after multiple visits: - The scramble - The Chic - Ultimate Sando - The B.E.C - Tatter tots - Egghead cafe latte - Hojicha Latte The eggs are cooked to perfection and have good portion sizes for the price. They use mainly brioche buns for their sandwiches and they are nice and soft. It would be nice if they were pan-fried so that they could make the buns a bit more flavorful and crispy while retaining the softness on the inside. Their chic sando is a great combination of fried chicken + egg, but I wish the chicken had more flavor and consistency. The crispiness is on point but lacks flavor which is disappointing since the chicken is the biggest ingredient here. Horrible foods with no service. Chicken is over deep fried and very salty. We have to do self order. Then a girl comes to the counter, she cannot answer any of our questions. No seats available indoor, so we seat outside. The table and chairs are very dirty. Seems they don't care to move in at night or clean up at least in the morning. This place smacks! I've been to egghead a few times and the food has always been fresh, hot, and delicious. The chicken can't be held back by no bun! It's always over the edge of the bread and juicy. If you can't tell already, I'm a huge fan of the chicken Sando and the side chic ;) Because it takes a fair amount of time to get the food, I usually place an order and drop off my laundry to make most of my time. I wish it were a little quicker...but I don't want to sacrifice the quality... The establishment is nice, clean, and still has that new car scent! First time here. Had the Chic Sandwich with fried chicken and egg. I was pretty surprised by the portion. Definitely wasn't expecting this much food. We ordered eggy, Hawaiian morning sandwich, tater tots and kyandi drink. We enjoy all the food we ordered. Eggy is baguette slices which you can dip in purée made of half cooked egg and mashed potato, which is very savory. Tater tots is crispy and with generous portion, friend liked his Hawaiian egg spam sandwich, and drink is delicious and bubbly. The service on the other hand is kind of a mess. There aren't many ppl in the store, but we waited 30 minutes to get our food, during which we heard so many numbers getting called(in random order) and more than half of them are later than us. I checked with them twice, once the person said they were just working on the last item, the second time I asked if we can have whatever is ready and she went in and came back with everything we ordered. If I haven't checked we probably had to wait much longer. Overall food is great, store is small but looked very nicely decorated, it is a shame that the staffs are so unorganized. read more

Stopped in for lunch on a work day to check out this new spot in Rivermark Plaza. Decided to go with the Chic sandwich with cold Hojicha. Sandwich was neatly wrapped in paper so even if it was big, it was easily managed. Tasty and fresh tucked in between soft buns. I really enjoyed the refreshing Hojicha with cane sugar. Place is fairly small but not cramped for space. There were some tables outside when the weather is warmer. It was pretty empty when I came at around 9:30 am and my order was ready shortly after. What I got: - The Scramble( $9.75) 4/5- this sandwich was good! I've been here a couple of times already and the food has always been a hit! The inside of this location is quite small though, and each time I've gone around 11am, there hasn't been any open tables inside, so plan accordingly! My go-to order is the eggy and the scramble sandwich w bacon & avocado added! The eggy is so savory, rich, and comforting - it kinda reminds me of a loaded baked potato soup. The scramble sandwich is the perfect breakfast sandwich. Avocado adds a nice creaminess & freshness, while the bacon adds that saltiness & crunchiness for a well-balanced bite! The slight sweetness from the brioche bun compliments everything so well. It is pretty messy to eat though, so not the best thing to eat in the car! Presentation of the food here isn't the best either as everything is served in takeout containers (even if you put your order as "for here") so you probably won't get that aesthetic IG picture unless you take the sandwich out of the box! I also would NOT recommend ordering their drinks. I should've known not to order drinks here since that's not their specialty, but it sounded really good at the time. I ordered a strawberry matcha latte 70% sweet w oat milk, but it had zero sweetness whatsoever. The matcha flavor was also pretty nonexistent and it just tasted like water w strawberry chunks. My friend ordered the strawberry hojicha latte and it just tasted like milk w strawberry chunks w no tea flavor at all. The drinks came 20 minutes after the promised time (which was 20 minutes after we ordered). How can it take 40 minutes to pour an extremely overpriced cup of regular coffee? I usually alternate between the Hawaiian Morning or The Chic, always with scrambled eggs (+3) instead of the regular egg -- trust me, it's worth the upcharge! Every single time I get the Chic, I always forget how HUMONGOUS the chicken patty is. The tater tots are also a good portion size compared to the price too... and it's super crispy and hot without being overpoweringly oily! Avocado was really borderline with lots of black/brown in it and seems like they tried to really mix it into the sandwich to disguise it- ew. Food took a long time, entire place seems under staffed. No cashier, kiosk only. No real plates, all food is served in to-go containers only which is really odd for dine-in and lots of product waste.
