Amazing giant burger that i thought I couldn't finish but i did! The line was long but there was self service and cashier so they were able to take our orders quickly, just had to wait for tables to open up since it was busy. They mistakenly put wasabi mayo in the wrong burger but gave us an extra sauce on the side to make it up. I'd consider this a fast food joint given how bustling it is even though it was also sit down. Good atmosphere though, loud and stimulating as if you're inside a don quijote
I really enjoyed my visit to Katsu Burger! The matcha shake was definitely my favorite--it was creamy, flavorful, and had a really nice matcha taste without being too overpowering. I also tried the mushroom burger, which was surprisingly filling and really tasty. The mushrooms added a lot of flavor and went well with the burger. I ordered it to-go and it came with gloves. Overall, everything was satisfying and I'd definitely come back to try more of their menu.
Croquette was very good. Burger was also good, but not sure why they advertise beef as the main option, I'm more used to pork katsu. Be prepared to get it to-go if you are ordering near peak hours, there's only a handful of tables in this small establishment.
Generally liked the burger. It was huge but I think it could have been less tall if they just packed it with less of the salad. I'd argue that it's a bit too much and a little less would have made it more balanced. I also feel the bun could be better but don't have good suggestions except for a diff bread bun. Beyond that the burger was really good. I got the SAMURAI SELECT W/BEEF KATSU. The beef katsu was very tender and the flavors on it were very good ranging from the sweet tanginess of the pineapple to the katsu sauce to the wasabi mayo. The wasabi mayo is legit! My nose burned a lil from eating a lil bit of the salad straight by taking it out from the burger since it was too big and also because the salad was so much that it kinda overpowered other ingredients. Overall, a good spot for a quick lunch and nice burger tho at $15 ish it can be a lil pricey.
Ordered the Tokyo Classic Katsu Burgers with the beef katsu, as well as the 12-spice blend french fries, the banzai bites, and the mushroom bites. The service was efficient and friendly, the small restaurant was clean and tidy. We very much enjoyed the Katsu burgers, the taste was delicious without mayo or tonkatsu sauce dominance, just nice subtle enhancement. The vegetables fresh and crisp adding a nice balanced taste to the whole sandwich. The mushroom bites were crisp, hot, and just right. We weren't as enamored of the fries which, despite the 12-spice blend, lacked flavor. The Banzai bites, though not dry as some other reviews noted, but they also lacked flavor. We tried the wasabi mayo, the spicy mayo, and the curry sauce, and both agreed the curry sauce had the best flavor. We will be back, but will probably just stick with the burgers. They were certainly worth it!
My wife turned me on to Katsu Burger and I'm officially obsessed with the Honey Miso Tofu burger. I've gotten it a couple times now and it's legit - shockingly good. I didn't miss the meat at all. So good! I also recently had the Kyoto Mushroom Melt with tofu instead of the beef katsu. Also crazy good. And then last night I had the Wabi Wasabi - also amazing. Their tofu patties make excellent beef patty substitutes across the board. Love this place. Their food is fantastic.
This burger spot is dazzling! They will mesmerize you with juicy, fresh, and flavorful burgers. It felt dream-like as we ordered and what felt like mere minutes our Tokyo Classic burgers amd fries arrived. The space is small, but tables open quickly. A godzilla sized plus - they have high chairs! The parking lot is atrocious to park in with how busy it is, but well worth it. We will absolutely be back to try more of the menu!

It had shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and sliced purple onions--all of which tasted fresh. But then came everything else. The beef katsu was extremely plain and didn't have much flavor on its own. The bun was also extremely soggy, most likely because they added a lot of wasabi mayo. Maybe a little too much. I will say, the wasabi mayo definitely had a nice and strong wasabi aftertaste. But, that's all I could taste. Every bite was just straight up wasabi mayo, and it completely overpowered the burger. I was hoping to get more flavor from the beef katsu, but unfortunately, it never delivered. For $14.50, I'd spend that money elsewhere. This is a skiiiiiiiip.

Katsu puts the F U in fusion. So it's a classic American hamburger with the crunchy, deep fried technique of Japanese katsu. It didn't have the crunch I expected, nor did I think the process locks in the juices. But, I did love the Japanese flavor profile. It was stacked with Kewpie-soaked, whisper thin, raw cabbage that was like a shredded wheat meets cole slaw, in a good way. It's far superior to lettuce (exception: arugula). The savory, sweet tonkatsu sauce elevate as the sandwich. Plus the fries, though limp, have Japanese curry and nori flakes, and the sauces (spicy mayo, honey miso, and a rich yellow curry) really make it unique. They also have yummy fried mushrooms, and because they are Japanese, they give your kart a quick boost of speed. All that, plus chicken bites and a not-cold-enough $3 can of Diet Coke came to $38 on the kiosk. The downside is that they pump the tiny spot with loud, bouncy pop music and they don't have fountain drinks, so if we return, Letsa To-Go!

We were planning to dine in, but all of the tables were occupied while we were ordering at the kiosk (there are only about five tables total). I ended up ordering takeout, although a table did open up and we were able to snag it. It seems like the majority of orders are to-go, which get blended in with the takeout queue, so you might be waiting a while. I was watching the pickup window as they were packing the sandwiches, and man, they are huge. It took them around 20 minutes to call out our food, with about 10 orders ahead of us (you can see your order number on the monitor above). We ordered the Tokyo Signature Classic Katsu with chicken breast and the Ohayo sandwich (their breakfast sandwich with bacon and egg) paired with beef katsu. We also got some nori fries to share on the side. My Tokyo Classic sandwich was delicious. It was nicely and lightly battered and not heavy at all. They were really generous with the meat, and it was juicy. If I had one complaint, it would be that I would have preferred it to be a bit more salted, but I dunked it in an extra side of miso mustard, so it was great. My partner's Ohayo sandwich with beef was meaty and paired well with the bacon and egg. It was a great wake-me-up meal. The fries were great as well. As a note, there are three different styles of fries you can get. We chose the nori fries this time, but we previously ordered the 12-spice version to-go. Between the two, we preferred the nori. We paired them with their curry mayo sauce, which added a nice savory component to the dish. Overall, this place is great. It is a bit on the louder side and can get pretty packed. The layout of the spot is not the most forgiving when it's busy, but regardless, the service was good and the food was tasty.
Had to come try this place after I saw it on IG. I got the Godzilla katsu burger with beef. It was huge because of the slaw and other veg in it. The burger was tasty, but strangely I couldn't really taste the meat (not sure why it was so tasty) 7/10. I also appreciate that they give you plastic gloves as it was pretty messy to eat. I also got the friend mushrooms, and they were fried well and not greasy. I chose the curry dipping sauce to go with it. Nothing special, but I was happy to eat it 6.5/10.

Katsu Burger -- 5 stars My spouse and I have made Katsu Burger one of our regular spots, and every visit still feels like a little treat. The portions are so generous and we usually walk out with leftovers and full, happy stomachs. What we love just as much is the staff. It's become one of those places we look forward to together. Comforting food, kind people, and we always leave smiling. We'll keep coming back. read more
Arrived about one hour before close and it was pretty full of customers and door dash delivery drivers. Despite this, we got our food within 10 - 15 minutes. If you want a different and unique burger try this place. The beef burger was juicy and was good with all the veggies. There was LOTS of cabbage...I ended up removing some. The chicken Katsu burger was good as well. It was crispy and light on the batter. It was a cool nice twist on a burger. I would come back. read more

I honestly didn't quite get the hype around this spot, the food was just alright and the prices felt pretty steep for what you get. The menu centers around Japanese katsu-style burgers tailored to Asian flavor profiles. On the positive side, the burgers are quite large and packed generously with toppings. We ordered at the kiosk, and the service was quick--our food was ready in about 10-15 minutes, though this probably depends on how long the line is when you visit. We tried two different burgers. What a wonderful addition to the plaza -- katsu burgers please! This place serves up quick Japanese inspired burgers fast. The menu has a good variety of options for all patrons -- proteins such as tofu, pork, chicken and beef! ORDER/SEATING Kiosk order and pick up your order at the counter. One piece of feedback is the limited indoor seating. We arrived around 6 or 7PM and managed to secure the last available table. It would be nice to have outdoor seating options. SERVICE Everyone was very friendly and welcoming including the managers/owners. FOOD My partner and I ordered a burger each and fries to share. The portions are MASSIVE. I finished my burger but barely touched the fries. My partner finished most of the burger. I came by for a second shot a few weeks later. The owner was kind enough to send me a promo code to use to give them another visit after I wrote my initial review. This time I got the Tokyo Burger and matcha shake. The Tokyo Burger wasn't bad, definitely preferred this over the Kyoto mushroom melt burger that I got last time. It was less heavy and had a better balance of ingredients. The matcha shake wasn't great, it was filled with unmixed matcha powder (see picture) and was too thick to drink. I appreciate their customer service though and their staff are very efficient. read more

Located around Santa Clara Koreatown, parking is plentiful and easy to find. The interior is small but there's ample tables for small groups. Ninja deluxe (5/5): absolutely delicious. The pork was crispy and wasn't too liquidy allowing the pork to stay crispy throughout. A nice touch was the gloves allowing you to keep your fingers and hands clean while you eat. There's water readily available which is always nice to see. I also really liked how there was an eta for your food. It was pretty accurate as well. Tap to pay is accepted. Love going to Katsu Burger! All of the burgers are large and very filling, and they provide you with gloves to help keep your hands clean. Both the beef and pork katsu are delicious, though my favorite is probably the latter. They also offer vegetarian options with tofu as the protein. I wish that the fries were a little more crispy, but I liked how you could get them with Japanese mayo to dip in. Unless you're famished, I would say you don't need to order any sides with your burger in order to feel full. The restaurant has a couple kiosks near the front for you to place your order. They only have a handful of tables inside, so be aware if you plan to come during peak meal times. I hope to try one of their burgers with chicken katsu next time! read more
tl;dr More of a novelty than a genuinely good food experience. The food wasn't bad by any means, but I personally would not return. My husband and I came in on a Friday around 6 pm. It was already packed, as there is not much seating inside since it's a casual and small place. Thankfully, by the time our order was ready, a table had freed up even though we'd ordered to go. My husband got the Godzilla Attack burger, which is spicy since it's mixed with jalapeno and other spicy goodness, while I got the Kyoto Mushroom burger. Based on my quick sample of his and my own experience of mine, everything was fresh, saucy, but the experience didn't come together for me taste wise. It felt more like the ingredients were put together in burger form than a cohesive taste. I would have rather eaten an actual katsu meal vs. this burger innovation. read more
Katsu Burger is very reminiscent of ordering in Japan, because you can hear the jingles of machines and automated female Japanese announcements. All they are missing is the entrance alert bells from konbinis. It would've made my dining experience even better if they did... It gives you that perfect blend of "I'm ordering fast food in Japan" vibe while giving the "holy cow price gouge" vibe of USA. Sort of that "in case you forget where you are." The Japanese immersion breaks as soon as they start asking for tip on the screen. Ah yes... we are so back in America... I ordered the Tokyo Classic with beef katsu which has an extra $1 surcharge compared to other proteins like chicken and pork. Bacon was my other add-on. With the chicken katsu nuggets and the matcha green tea milk shake, my order came out to something $37. The burgers came really thick and tall, and it's mostly because of the potato bun that is inflated like the USD, and it's packed with a mountainous debt of shredded lettuce. Bacon here is reminiscent of bacon elsewhere in the world: cooked just enough to rend the fat, and it's not crispy and salty. It's a good, fresh cut of bacon nonetheless, but it didn't add anything to the bourgeoning burger I was eating. The beef katsu is rather thin compared to other places I've had so to end the economy analogy, this is the shrinkflation everyone is talking about. It's like they tenderized a flat iron steak and fried it. The sauce provided help with moistening each bite, but alas, it felt like an overpriced burger. Not much of a crunch from the fried patty, and there's a bit of toughness with each bite. The most disappointing part of the meal was the Banzai Bites. It's all white meat, and the breading isn't crunchy at all. No seasoning in that breading giving a rather bland bite everytime. Because they use white meat, the chicken somehow was dry yet plump and bouncy, a rather impossible combination I couldn't fathom, but they somehow miraculously pulled that off. To make this paltry poultry snack edible, the accompanying sauce is needed. Be careful what you choose, because like in all video games, your choice affects the ending. I got this with the tonkatsu sauce, which is basically your standard Worchestcherchercherchercherchercher- The highlight for me was the matcha green tea milkshake. Plenty of matcha flavor and on a hot day a rather enjoyable treat! My friend ordered the choco mint milkshake which unfortunately isn't minty enough. It felt more like a cookies n cream with stingy amounts of choco mint ice cream in. It's like the Hint Water of the choco mint milk shake. Nothing to hit home about. Is it overpriced? Yeah. Randomly found this place while trying to get dinner 1 day. Looks like a Japanese style fast casual spot. You order at the kiosk and they have some seating inside. All the burgers look so good. We got the Tokyo and Kyoto burgers with nori fries and mint chocolate shake. The food came out pretty fast. The burger and fries were really good, but way too much food for me. I recently ordered from Katsu Burger, and I'd say the experience was mixed. The online ordering was straightforward, and my food was ready in about 10 minutes, which was great. What really stood out was the customer service. I placed my order close to closing, and the staff stayed late to make sure I got my meal. That was really appreciated. Now, onto the food. It was okay, but nothing special. I paid $35 for a tokyo classic chicken katsu, ninja deluxe chicken katsu with a side of fries. The top bun on ninja deluxe was oddly rock-hard while the one on tokyo classic was soft. The chicken and flavor were fine, but not memorable. As for the fries, they were soggy and lacked flavor despite being the "12-spice" kind. Appreciate how they gave gloves, portion is huge and eating can get messy. I really liked this spot, I came here on a whim with my bestfriend and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The meat is juicy and all the toppings pair so well. It would perfect if you just did a little something to the bread/bun. The burger was great, the sauce was awesome, the veggies were perfectly shredded for the right amount of crunch, but the bread... was just hanging out, not contributing to the symphony. I don't pretend to be a chef, but do something with the bun-- lightly toast it, slather some sauce, warm it up. Any of those things would push the burger from very good to *chef's kiss* read more

Place is fantastic! I love the Japanese city pop and theming of the place. It's quite cozy. The burgers are pretty worth it considering they're massive! Service was great and they were pretty friendly and food came out quickly. There's also 2 self service POS to order from. There's also water in the back that's also self service. The burger was solid, I really like the curry one and my friend got the godzilla burger. Would go again read more

Came again since I was craving their fried sides. And since I am not big on burgers, I didn't order any. Last time I loved the nori fries and bansai bites cause it was nice and tender but their croquettes were a bit too bland for me. I got the same three items but this time seemed the items were switched. The nori fries were good but I felt like it could use a little bit of salt. The bansai chicken bites were white meat that were dry and not tender at all so it was a bit disappointing and I gave the rest to my husband to eat. This time the chicken seemed to be flat pieces which might have attributed to it being so dry cause if I recall correctly, last time the chicken was more like cubes instead of being so flat. The potato croquettes this time tasted perfect so during this visit, the croquettes were the winner for me. Overall, seems like the sides are a bit inconsistent, but I think I would still go back for the nori fries and croquettes. read more

Holy crap these burgers are amazing. Easy order on the screen. We came at 6pm on a weekday and luckily was no wait, but by 6:30 there was a small line. I consider this burger cheap! On a chill Saturday afternoon, my partner and I wanted to check out this new spot and it was great. We ordered the Ohaiyou Goazaimasu, the nori fries, and the fried mushrooms. The burger was a fun take on a breakfast burger and I wish the egg was still runny, but otherwise the flavor was pretty good and it was huge. The nori fries were more on the soggy side than the crispy side, but that was great for us and the seasoning was good as well. We really enjoyed the fried mushrooms though, especially with their unique sauces. A few parts of the meal were clearly cooked well ahead of time and didn't come out as hot and fresh as I expected, but overall the flavor was good and I liked everything we had. Saw a couple of my friends on IG went to this place and had great experiences so we also came here and check them out for lunch on a weekend day. This shop is really tiny and not that many tables so it's kind of challenging to find a couple of seats for eat-ins. fortunately people ate here usually quickly and leave so it's a good idea to first order to go and then look for seats. We ordered a Kyoto mushroom burger and a Wabi wasabi burger, both came pretty quickly and it's nice to have gloves because these burgers are huge and juicy! overall we are quite happy with the food and for sure we will be back! read more

Cool concept! Worth a try. My friends and I enjoyed the Tokyo classic. I like that the beef patty is crispy. I agree with others on how the sauce is watery; I didn't finish my burger because I didn't enjoy how soggy the final bites were. I hope they come out with a mini size or sliders. I would definitely become a regular in that case. Right now the portion sizing is a little too much for me; got kind of sick of the greasiness by the end. Also appreciate how seamless the ordering process is with the ordering kiosk and the tv that shows your wait time for when your order will be ready. read more
