Finally got around to trying this place that opened recently! Egghill is a cute, tiny establishment with a handful of tables inside and just a couple of employees on any given day. They offer a brief yet thoughtful menu of breakfast sandwiches, as well as two or three side options. Everything is served in to-go containers, and the sandwiches are made to order, so I recommend ordering ahead online if possible. I got the Egghill, which is the one vegetarian sandwich on the menu. The soft scrambled eggs were done perfectly, and the thick slice of cheddar melted on top and the fresh bun were both delicious as well. I absolutely love that everything comes with arugula, as it perfectly brightens up the richness of the sandwich. Honestly, the Egghill was so flavorful & moist that I will probably ask them to just leave off the sauce the next time around. I can only imagine how flavorful the sandwiches with meat must be! Not sure if the owner reads these reviews, but given how new this place is & the fact that I'm definitely going to return, I'm going to make some requests! First, it would be amazing to get a meat other than sausage, bacon, or pulled pork for those of us who can't eat pork -- even if you just had a breakfast sandwich on special that had turkey bacon, chicken sausage, or brisket, I would love to try it. Second: PLEASE expand your weekday hours, just a little! You're right around the corner from a university, and college kids love a greasy breakfast yet wake up late in the day. And for those of us who work at the university, this would be a perfect place to grab lunch to-go when we have a hankering for breakfast food. Solid breakfast sandwich that's just a little different from the rest. I had the Jamwich and loved the fluffy bun it came on. Egghill definitely is not skimping in size - this sammy was huge. I was craving a breakfast sandwich, so I decided on this spot on a whim. I am so glad that I did. My boyfriend and I stopped in on a Monday morning, at about 9ish. Not busy, with just a few people seated. We were greeted promptly, and the two gentlemen who were working were very nice. I ordered the Mustache, with the tater tot casserole, and my boyfriend had a bacon egg and cheese with the grits. When I say, the food was fresh and piping hot! And Oh so good! We took our orders to go, and I finished my tater tot casserole before I made it back home downtown. The sausage is seasoned and cooked well. Eggs are fluffy. Sauce compliments it all well, while the arugula is fresh and crisp. And the bun is the ideal consistency to hold the entire thing. Set in the Edgehill neighborhood, Egg Hill is a tiny, cute, dog-friendly, they-know-their-regulars-name kind of place. Now let's dig in to the reason you're reading this - the food. Oh my tastebuds! SO GOOD. As stated in many reviews on this app, I'm celiac and as such, it can be difficult to find fare for my gluten protein-adverse tummy bits and pieces. Fear not, fellow Celiacs! They have a gluten-free bread option that is tasty (we all know that gluten-free can be generally iffy at best). I had their "Eggvacado" two days in a row. My friend had the grits (best grits I've ever stolen a taste from, btw). The coffee is good (if you live in Nashville, bring your own mug, otherwise they're paper cups). I chatted with the owner briefly and he radiated kindness and a genuine love for his craft that you don't see as much these days). While I was there he greeted several people by their name, and that made me feel warm and fuzzy. Long live Egg Hill. Long live kindness. Long live small businesses! Wow this place was hopping on a Saturday am! They are serving up a ton of egg sandwiches for hungry brunchers, as well as grits and tater tot mash. Cute breakfast place! I got the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich as well as the tater tot casserole. For the sandwich, I loved how fluffy the scrambled eggs were and how the buns were lightly toasted although I found the bacon to be overwhelmingly salty. Given its simplicity, I was surprised by how delicious the tater tot casserole was. Topped with parmesan and chives, it was a delightful cup of ooey gooey potato goodness. Started out with a plan to eat across the street but while waiting for a table there we started scrolling EggHill's menu & decided it was a better fit. This place is great & so accommodating to different diet lifestyles...A Keto dieter & a vegetarian walk into a breakfast place...they will make any sandwich a salad sans bread & they were very accommodating to leave things off of the sandwiches! But the bread on that sandwich will make even the strongest Keto dieter eat carbs! The bread is just so fluffy & it's even flavorful! Who knew buns have flavor! The bacon was cooked perfectly & had just the slightest best hint of salt! The eggs are perfectly soft & are made just right for a sandwich! I'm not sure what's in the Dijon sauce but it was definitely great! & it paired so well with the arugula! I can't say enough good things about our breakfast sandwiches! We ordered the tater tot casserole & the pimento grits too & we were so stuffed by the time we left we didn't eat the rest of the day! A friend and I were in the mood for a more causal brunch spot, and decided to try Egghill! First there is free parking, which is almost unheard of in Nashville, however, it's a very small lot so you may need to street pro or pay for parking. The inside looks super clean with pops of yellow throughout with the chairs. I love a theme and an egg colored chair with a egg white color wall made me so happy! I had the BLT special, which featured a yellow tomato, shredded lettuce, ranch, bacon, dukes mayo (the best mayo) and a fried egg. It was so delicious and super messy - napkins highly encouraged! My friend got a classics bacon, egg, and cheese which she seemed to really enjoy as well! For the sides we did hashbrown casserole and grits! The hashbrown casserole was flavorful, cheesy, and had fresh chives on top! The grits were amazing, great flavor, a perfect texture, and overall everything you'd want in grits!
