The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We ordered a little bit of everything since it was our first time here. Samosa - not too oily and the filling was abundant and flavorful Dani-puri - I should've ask how to assemble this but google is my friend and it was cool to layer it the way I want Raja da chicken kebab with rice - the chicken is was tender but SOOO spicy. They give you more protein than rice which is great! Food took over 50 minutes to come out AND it tasted horrendous. See attached pictures. There were literally 0 orders or customers in the store other than us. We ordered 3 dishes and it took over 50 minutes. And then we got this burnt slop. The chicken itself was rock hard dry. There was 0 flavor on anything other than just pure spiciness--absolutely 0 balancing of actual flavor on anything. Maybe something happened because it's the day after Thanksgiving and the regular chef is out. But whoever was cooking must've put this stuff in the oven and gone out for a 45 minute smoke break. I have no idea how anyone spends 50 minutes on 1 order just to put out burnt charcoal. This is some Kitchen Nightmares stuff right here. Even though it says kids no spicy, some of the items seem to use same masala n it was spicy for my children, we ordered the butter chicken and had to throw it out because the chicken was hard n not mild, it was too spicy, the paneer tikka masala was also spicy n it's worthless to pay so much for just 2 pieces of paneer in the whole curry. Chicken tikka masala sandwich was flavorful and delicious. I was hesitant at first but glad I made this choice. I also ordered the salted caramel bubble tea however there was no caramel at all and it seem the bubbles was so hot when placed in the cup it started to melt the cup (not a good look). The food was so terrible. I'll never come here again. The one in Edison NJ is so much better. First the dahipuri was so sweet I felt I was eating a dessert. I had to go back twice to have them fix it because it was inedible. Then, we had an egg chicken wrap and again flavorless. I asked for green chutney and the server pretty much was being lazy and refused. The wrap itself tasted rancid almost as if the oil or ghee or whatever they use for grilling had gone bad. Finally the chicken biriyani was blah, no flavor and barely any chicken. It needed more salt, and spices. Overall I would not recommend this place. No wonder this place was empty. This place just opened up recently and I'm so happy they're around, pumping out some really flavorful, bold, delicious Indian street food, dishes that aren't always easy to find. SURTI GOTALO Was recommended to get this having never been here before, it is their specialty apparently, with chopped up egg and richly flavored with spices. This doesn't hold back on the heat - even if you have a good heat tolerance it may slowly sneak up on you! Didn't stop me from enjoying it thoroughly. There's a heartiness to this and it really celebrates this really deeply seasoned spice profile with a runny sunnyside up egg for some mix in texture. Comes with Roti for you to eat it with. Don't expect a fork, though not sure if you can ask for one. SAMOSA They were just fine, to be honest. The exterior was more bready than crisp/fried and the inside was standard vegetable samosa but the sauce realy takes it up a notch and they do a great sauce with this one. I forgot the name of this, but the picture of the egg sandwich I posted below was actually really really good, and had a deep flavor profile that you may be surprised by when just looking at it. There's a nice crispy char on the bread as well. A+ from me, honestly. MANGO MASTANI Would probably get the mango lassi instead next time; this is just mango lassi with a (small) scoop of vanilla ice cream and dusted with almonds and a sweet green syrup, which was quite interesting and good, but I wish the vanilla ice cream scoop was bigger. I'm not one to leave reviews but after tasting the chai, which is the first thing an Indian store needs to get right I was already disappointed. The rest was downhill from there. Came here for lunch with my fellow foodie and just had to try a little bit of everything. Onto the food: - we started with the green boiled fry as an appetizer. Two eggs boiled with very good Indian spices in there (a little too much heat for me but doable). - shared the Chicken Tandoori with rice - nice sear and not dry which is important. The yogurt sauce was delicious. Rice was good too. However, it was lacking some flavor profiles. Needs a little more flavor like the Halal trucks offer. - Egg curry entree, comes with your choice of sliced bread or roti - I chose the roti. Roti was so good and perfect accompanyment for scooping up that curry. It was my favorite dish this visit. Aka Surti Kheemo. Mildly spiced with a garlic tomato base. - Samosa Chaat, was disappointed with this snack. Not because of the flavor but because it was still cold on the inside! Shocking! Well, at least that means it's not cooked twice like pre-cooked and refried. But maybe it needs to be. I can't believe it was cold on the inside when the outside was perfectly crisp and hot. - Drinks we ordered that came canned. Absolutely was excited for this gem near my house as I love eggs but I was disappointed. I ordered egg burji with paratha, mango mastani and Amdavadi touch sandwich. The mango drink was delicious and the sandwich was amazingly delicious as well. Disappointed as I found a long piece of hair in the egg burji and the paratha were not fresh at all they were hard as a brick.
