Our experiences here have changed. They seem to have a more interest in catering to doordash and grubhub before the customers had actually come in. I watched multiple orders go out the door before my food was brought to me and it was cold.. They need to pay more attention to the people that are making the effort to come in . After striking out with our first choice for Sunday breakfast, due to frozen pipes - yes, in CHARLESTON, we ended up at EUP. There was no wait at 9:15 on a Sunday, albeit every table was full! We were seated immediately and just as quickly greeted and welcomed by the loveliest of lovely servers, who was also managing the restaurant. Heather was the most genuinely kind, gracious, attentive, quick and accurate server. With a beautiful smile, it is clear that Heather takes tremendous pride in the work she does to ensure a satisfying experience for the customer(s). In the Charleston area, where there are endless possibilities for dining out, EUP stood out because their staff is just so happy, kind, welcoming and efficient! The added bonus? I am a fan ! What drew me to the location in the first place was that it serves breakfast and it is close by to me in west Ashley, but what keeps me going there is a server named Jenn. Jenn was, has, and will be the person that takes care of my children and I each time. I understand the challenges of COVID and want to support local businesses but I always believe constructive feedback is important in any business, especially food service. Brunch bowl of shrimp and grits; could add eggs. The grits were the consistency of soup and presented with a square of cheese on top ( semi-melted). The sausage and shrimp were small in size; shrimp wasn't the best. Spinach in the " soup" wilted with stems on ; they called it spinach grits. Eggs added were not presented in an appetizing way. Overall left much to be desired. Expectation: creamy rich grits; larger shrimp, sausage and grated cheese with no spinach stems. Overpriced for the quality ( cost about $13.00). Pancakes with choice of eggs and side: the pancakes were soggy and tasted like they were saturated with grease. They were truly some of the worst I have tasted. Scrambled eggs with cheese, served in omelette style which is not the same consistency of scrambled so don't offer scrambled if they aren't. Pork sausage links were burnt and spicy; let the consumer know, my guest doesn't like spicy. Overall, this meal left too much too much to be desired. Greasy stacks no butter or syrup could rectify. Expectations: pancakes better than IHOP; clean griddle and hold the grease. love eggs up so much! the atmosphere feels just like family and is ran by kevin and teresa arnold who are so sweet and friendly with all staff and customers. the servers are always friendly and go above and beyond for all customers. the food runners lacy and clara physically run food to the table and greet guests with smiles. even through the kitchen window you can see how much all employees love working here. the kitchen is responsible for all amazing food, and i personally have enjoyed all meals provided to me throughout the year. love this place so much, wish i could give it more than 5 stars! read more

Came on a Friday morning. Busy but not too much. All the servers were grumpy about something and rushed. Our order came in dribs and drabs. Lukewarm and uninspiring. Unsanitary and slow service. This restaurant isn't doing much for COVID-19 other than wearing face masks. However, the cooks all had them pulled down to their chins to talk to the servers over top of the counter. The counter was full of food and therefore they were spreading their germs all over it. Additionally, our food took 30 mins to come out. The last 10 of those minutes the entire order was ready and was sitting on the counter but our server wasn't paying attention and didn't notice it was done. The servings were smaller than expected and the eggs were completely raw on the inside. Will not be returning and would not recommend to anymore. Sometimes service is slow and that is understandable, but it seems like everything went wrong with our visit and it wasn't even busy. read more

This is our go to place every Sunday after church. Food is always good, and if anything is off, they fix it quickly. The staff and owners are friendly and attentive, and you can't go wrong having Matt as your server. After the second time there, he remembered our drink orders and brings them to the table without asking. We will wait longer just to be in his section. Two couples Saturday morning. Seated promptly outside as requested. Waitress took our drink orders brought promptly. Then the wheels came off My friend ask for cream for his coffee never came. Waited 30 minutes to give our order and had to go ask for a waitress. Orders placed another 30 minutes. Food arrives cold. Omelet cold eggs over easy hard and cold. BLT sandwich not edible bacon like rubber. Waitress had disappeared. Female owner came to table and ask about our food we gave an honest assessment as we saw it terrible cold etc. her reply was then don't come back. No effort for correction. Obviously didn't like that we had ask twice for service and our frank assessment. My husband did not eat his sandwich. We finished and waited for our check. Male owner Kevin came to table and immediately said to my husband I won't talk to you. My husband had gone inside to inquire about our food. Kevin had seen us park in handicapped parking and should have know my husband had health issues. You can't always see health issues. But he continued in a threatening manner and told us to never return. Our couple friends who had not interacted with the staff he gave a two dollar off coupon WOW. Any owner who has a anger issue I choose not to be around. My husband is 80 years old and he is being threatened by the restaurant owner and told not to return. I am a regular here, so I am flabbergasted by all the negative reviews for this restaurant on this site. This is one of the best restaurants in town, and if you are on the fence because of someone else's negative review, let me put your mind at ease - they are so wrong! Been coming here for nearly two years and the quality has been consistently exceptional. Food is always stellar, the staff are super friendly and sweet (every time I come in everyone says "Hi Vince!") and service is always top notch. I have never, EVER had reason to even consider complaining, and trust me when I say I eat out a ton - between here and at least five other restaurants around town, I have plenty of options. But when it comes to a perfect ensemble between food, service, and environment, you really can't do any better. This place should easily have a perfect five star score, and I'm still scratching my head as to why it doesn't. At any rate, go check this place out! And tell 'em Vince sent you. :) read more
