Utter Garbage. The servers are nice, but your food is utter garbage. Your Buffalo wings are tasteless. And your design is bad. The tables are less than 2.5 feet across. We've missed Eggspectations since they closed their Columbia location. We were in Gambrills today and thought we'd try this location. The decor is nice and it's much smaller than Columbia. Yes I know they're not the same but it's the comparison I have access to. It was vey crowded so we were able to sit at the bar. Which is fine because it was a good experience. Liam was our server and very friendly and knowledgeable. We were able to order quickly and the food. The menu isn't as extensive as Columbia. Overall a good experience. My wife missed have the Benedict's and was very happy to get one again. She loved it and the Lyonnaise potatoes were a great capper. My sandwich was just okay. It could have used more aioli. The staff were friendly and location clean and accessible. We did learn about the new locations coming soon in closing Columbia and Burtonsville. We'll definitely return soon. read more

Breakfast at Eggspectation is now a staple in my brunch rotation! I was seated in a booth seat in the bar area. The bartender greeted us with menus. There were lots of great menu options. I ordered the shrimp and grits with scrambled eggs. The way this is served is different from other restaurants. I liked the addition of eggs. The cheese grits are covered in a flavorful sauce. I would have liked to have more grits and less of the sauce. The shrimp were generous in size and well seasoned. I also could not decide on a mimosa so I ordered the mimosa flight. It did not disappoint. The 4 flight flavors include a traditional mimosa, strawberry, peach, and Grand Marnier. I enjoyed everything and plan to return soon. read more

Yesterday evening, Eggspectation in Gambrills had an intense sewage odor throughout the building. The restaurant should have been shut down; though the host attempted to seat me, I promptly left after determining that the odor continued into the dining room. I have enjoyed Eggspectation since the 90s in Columbia, but going here at dinner time has been a fool's errand lately. Just look at how empty the establishment is after ~ 6 o'clock on any given day. Last night's malodorous experience will be my last attempt to patronize this location, though it sheds some light on my penultimate visit a few weeks earlier when I became immediately sick after eating poached eggs. read more

But while the food is still good, the service has suffered. Front of the house was great, but the table/bar service was absent and slow. Ok, if you're on the fence about trying, just come! The lamb chops are fire ! It's seasoned with chimichurri and so good! I got one pancake and that was soft and good! If you get the eggs and potatoes, ask for hollandaise sauce to go with them as they aren't seasoned at all. But other than that my meal was so good! My over medium eggs were cooked well too! BREAKFAST TAKEOUT EXPERIENCE: This experience at Eggspectation was OK. The food was OK and the menu items for their breakfast is classic American from omelettes, pancakes, breakfast potatoes, waffles, etc.. That said, the attention to detail is what puts this restaurant in the category of diner food which isn't bad. When it comes to breakfast, a restaurant can do one of three things 1) serve diner-quality food, 2) serve upscale diner food, or 3) distinguish themselves and are doing breakfast well. The indoor seating and dining area seems adequate and the inside of the restaurant looks nice. Takeout orders are submitted at the bar. Regarding the attention to detail with the menu items, the chicken served with the chicken and waffles could have been fried better. I believe the chicken wasn't freshly fried and perhaps had been sitting, previously fried, when it was served to me. It seemed dry. The omelette was loaded with veggies, which isn't a problem, however, overall it lacked flavor. So was the case with the breakfast potatoes and grits. To label the entire order I'd say it could have been better. If in the area, again, I will dine in to see if the experience is better. Give them a try! read more

My expectations for Eggspectations were high. Not sure if she thought it was loud in the back of the restaurant, but our waitress Kennedy was yelling at us while taking our order. I have passed this place several times thinking that it was only a breakfast place that offered egg like meals. However, to my surprise, they have wings, shrimp, and grits steak grilled chicken, etc. The Mediterranean wings were absolutely delicious as was the chicken crêpe. The shrimp and grits were OK however I would've liked more grits and more sausage. The cocktails were also, pretty delicious. I've been a fan of eggspectation for years and was sad when their silver spring and Elkridge locations closed. This location has been open for a little while now, so I finally got the chance to visit. I got their hot chocolate, which was great as usual. Their breakfast cocktails are always good by the way, but the hot chocolate was non-alcoholic. Just wasn't in a drinking mood that day. For my meal, I ordered the Nashville hot chicken Benny, which was a huge disappointment. The chicken was not tender at all and was hard to chew. It tastes like a cinnamon Auntie Annie pretzel but softer and better. The cinnamon butter literally melts in your mouth. I ordered the lamb and eggs. The Lamb was cooked perfectly medium and had a lot of flavor. It came with potatoes. I don't typically eat breakfast potatoes, but I did eat quite a bit of these. They had a good crunch and flavor to them. The restaurant had good lighting and nice pictures. The servers were kind and helpful. I would definitely recommend. Arrived here at 10 AM on a Sunday and it was busy but still only a 20 minute wait! We got lucky and snagged a booth. The service was solid as well. I liked the layout of the restaurant. We ordered the Eggspectation crepe, breakfast poutine, side of French toast and green light juice. Green Light Juice: 10/10 It tastes so fresh and delicious! I loved it and wish I got more. Eggspectation Crepe: 7/10 It was a pretty solid crepe and the hollandaise sauce isn't too heavy. However, we unfortunately had a mushroom in the crepe which was probably an accident but it did ruin it a bit for us. Breakfast Poutine: 9/10 I really loved this! The potato's are perfectly soft and crispy and with the gravy, egg, cheese and meat it all came together so well. I saw previous reviews saying how there isn't enough gravy but I thought it was the right amount. French toast side: 9/10 The French toast itself is not too sweet which we appreciated. I like how you can order just a side of French toast instead of an entire order for it. Perfect for when you're craving something sweet to compliment a savory breakfast. But I think my favorite is still the EGGSPECTATION CREPE that I had last time!! You really can't go wrong with any of these dishes! We went in the afternoon and there was a very short wait. So if we would go, we might go in the afternoon around 1 or 2 PM, from now on to avoid the crowd in the morning. Our server was nice and attentive. And we sat closer to the bar this time. The Ambiance was still the same busy but light and airy. I still love the decor... It's a little louder the closer you are to the bar which makes sense but it wasn't bad. I am no stranger to Eggspectation and I'm glad to see how much they're growing. So far, I've visited the Ellicott City and Owings Mills locations. This is my first time at the Gambrills location which is fairly new. Since I have a new doctor that is located in the same shopping center, I decided to treat myself to a mid-week brunch after my doctor's appointment. When I arrived on a late Thursday morning, I was immediately seated and a server promptly greeted me. After looking over the menu, I went with my usual...the Eggstravaganza. My husband and I went to this restaurant for the first time today. Overall, it was not a horrible experience, but I doubt that we will go back. Let's start with the positive. Our waiter, who, I apologize I don't recall his name, was very good. He was friendly and attentive, and we never had to wait for anything we needed. My husband ordered the chicken and waffles. He is a chicken and waffles purist, and although he knew these were chicken tenders and not four pieces of chicken as he prefers, he was willing to give the dish a try. He was underwhelmed. The chicken was dry, and the waffles were , nothing special. I ordered the blueberry, lemon, ricotta pancakes. I was hoping to order crêpes, but they only had savory options that I could see. So, I went with the pancakes instead. The lemon flavor was very pronounced, and the pancakes were cooked very nicely. I like a little Christmas on them, and these had it. Overall, my meal was good, but, just as my husband was, it was very over priced. Despite the fact, the restaurant has only been opened for a couple of years, the core looked a little worn. I don't think that was the intention, however. It was very bright and clean, however. As the name indicates, if you like eggs, and that is your main focus, I'm sure you will probably enjoy this restaurant. I just don't think it was a good fit for us. read more
