Went to this location on Saturday, May 13, for a Mother's Day Lunch with a party of 6. We called 20 minutes before arriving and was told to use Yelp to check in. So, I did. Once there, the hostess told me that it was not on their list. The hostess also told us that it would only be a 15 minute wait. We sat down and as I pulled up my Yelp page from my phone, which showed that we had checked in, I took the phone to the hostess and showed her that we were checked in. "That's weird!" She stated. After 20 minutes waiting, I went back up and asked "How much longer? We have been waiting for 20 minutes." The hostess then looked at her tablet and said "No! I checked you in 17 minutes ago. It will be just a few more moments." I went back to my party and thought "Does she know that it's a party of 6?" So, I went BACK to the hostess and asked her if she knew we were 6. "No! Your wife told me a party of 2." I was there listening at the first time we encountered her and was never asked "How many in your party?" Now, the hostess is lying to me. After 35 minutes of waiting, we finally get a booth. Our waitress, Molly, was VERY friendly, engaging and for the most part, took very good care of us, even though many items had to be delivered to our table with several trips to the table from the kitchen. Food is very good quality. This was my second trip to this location. The first trip was for a lunch, for burgers. I will not write about that experience except that we were asked how we wanted our burgers cooked and replied "medium rare" and were delivered well done. Friends of mine told me how kind and caring the original owner was, taking so good care of everyone, but there was a true absence of good customer service and I do not take being lied to very well. LOVE this restaurant and all locations. The service and food are always exceptional! I've never had anything NOT be delicious, like seriously. I love that the staff are so friendly and attentive. Your drink will never be empty and your food will be on point. Additionally- they take patron safety very seriously, but without being a-holes in the process like some places. I went there this morning, just to have a short stack or sausage coffee for my food go to the table. I had three pancakes, the size of a plate that was lukewarm here, and instead sausage, the girl brought me bacon when I told her I ordered sausage she look at me like she just woke up. They were moist like cake, not too thin, with fresh bananas.Zack was the name of my waiter. He was super nice. We were waiting for the rest of our party. He did not give us additude and was very polite. He suggested certain items and was knowledgeable on the food selections. My partners hash browns were a bit under cooked. Don't understand the high reviews here. We visited for the first time and they were steady but not overly busy with tons of staff and our food took 40+ minutes to get. My crab cake Benedict was warm at best and the crab cakes had a hard dark brown coating on the outside. Very little hollandaise sauce and tons of lettuce. My wife had French toast, eggs and bacon and said the bacon was fatty and French toast was bland and warm. It was at least firm. We spoke to one of the managers who stated we are busy and showed no real concern and walked away. We won't be back based on this experience. read more

Came here alone for breakfast, checked in and was told it would be 20 mins for wait time. I notice parties after me are being seated. I ask about being seated and the hostess never entered me in the system. I watched her type my name and number in when I first checked in. So I'm not sure why I wasn't on the waitlist. At this point we're 40 mins wait time and she decided she now wants to seat me. I left. It's obviously why this may have happened but it's ok I won't be back. read more

Took me a while to finish my review - there are lots of great things to talk about with this place! Traditional, yet modern. Cool place, tons of options and the owner is from Chicago. It's what we miss. The warmth he and his family offer make you feel comfortable immediately. Now that his son opened the next location in Allen, we will have to go and check that one out too! When you arrive, you'll probably wait, but it's completely worth it. Bring a light jacket if you or your kids get cold quickly. It can be pretty chilly in here. The owner is openly welcoming and has a keen eye for getting you seated as quickly as possible. Menu items offer tremendous variety. Everything we've tried has been tasty. Servers are well trained - offering what's needed, precisely when you need it. And the more experienced ones (Nicki) go out of their way to collect the clutter at the end of the table (with three different coffee drinkers, we have a lot of used creamers and sweetener packets)....it's something small, but when a server does this, along with keeping our drinks taken care of, we always tip even more. On to the food: really tasty. As a group, our little family has favorite items that we consistently order: the omelettes, skillets and pancakes seem to be present in some form on our table. Everyone has regularly enjoyed the French Toast, and the fresh-squeezed Orange Juice is divine. There's one item we've tried a few times that is ok, but not great: the biscuits and gravy - for some reason, this dish never lands quite right. Overdone biscuits or gravy with limited flavor - it's the one thing I'd say to pass on. But, because we enjoy so many things here, we've explored alternative menu items, too. And with fantastic results! In fact, this past weekend, I tried the Crab Benedict (crab cake, hollandaise sauce, spring lettuce and a perfectly poached egg.....my mouth is watering all over again). These experiences (we're here weekly), is why we think this place is amazing. We have been here for breakfast on a number of occasions and today we ordered eggs Benedict and it was quite disappointing. It was a very simplistic version of eggs Benedict compared to other restaurants. The Portion was quit small. I will not be ordering this plate in the future. I have had fantastic eggs Benedict plates at other restaurants and I was really expecting a much better eggs Benedict. read more

Our experience was not close to the hype. It could have been better. Pro tip: Put yourself on the Yelp waitlist. Our Sunday brunch with friends was over a 40 minute wait. Being put on the waitlist let us use the time to travel rather than waiting. I would have been very angry had we waited for 40 minutes and had our mediocre experience. The atmosphere is loud with kids screaming everywhere. Do not count on having any type of conversation in that atmosphere. My ears were ringing by the time we left. Flies kept buzzing around our table. Two of our four orders were wrong. - I only received one of my two sides. The server was nowhere in sight to tell her of my missing side. - My friend asked for scrambled eggs on the side with her Benedict, but the scrambled egg was put on the Benedict in place of the poached egg. Hubby's poached egg on his Benedict turned out to be a hard boiled egg. The hollandaise sauce tasted like a ready-made jar sauce. The mashed potatoes with my chicken fried steak tasted like instant. The server almost spilled coffee on us twice had we not reached out to grab the cup (first time) and the pot (second time). One of the coffee cups still had someone else's leftover lipstick that we had to mention to the server. We had to ask for one coffee refill. Yes, we were only given one refill. Four waters and one straw. We had to ask the server for three more straws. Server rushed us along for the table. Maybe Sunday brunch time is not the time for the "fast" or "great" service or "great" food that everyone else seems to be touting. Huge MISS for us. read more

There was the perfect thin layer of egg surrounding a hearty thick piece of Texas toast. The flavor was so good, and not underplayed. It also came with 2 eggs, bacon, and sausage. For the price, you get a solid, filling meal! The ambiance is very relaxing, and they kept it simple with the decor, while still having a very cute breakfast style going.
