Coming here is always a thing for my girlfriend and I, it's our guilty pleasure, I cannot express how well made the "EAT" burger is and how unparalleled that burger is to any other place. It's like beyond gourmet and cooked to extreme perfection. From presentation to how it's put together Its like art, a crafty delicious burger. On the many times that I've been here, only once was did we experience a longer than normal wait for food and even then, once the food got to our table we completely forgot it was even an issue because that's how delicious the food is. If you get a server named Bella, you will have 5 star service, she's the best server there! highly attentive, quick, courteous and friendly. Solid beer selection, decent food, and good service. I do have some issues though. To no fault of the owners, the place is always very loud. The menu is also pretty one-dimensional and monotonous. second time there, terrible dining experience. The entrees came out before the appetizer. The waitress was apologetic and blamed it on new kitchen staff. My burger was ordered WELL and was so RARE that the blood soaked through the bottom bun and the whole thing was a very pink soggy mess. On a practical note, the chairs in the tent area are hard metal and quite small and uncomfortable...maybe appropriate for a 90 lb twelve year old. And what's with the tiny Mason jar drinking mugs? Is it so much to ask that your waitresses put a smile on once in a while? And maybe not have the worst attitude? I come here because it's a local spot and the food is good, drinks are fine too. I have zero problems when I sit at the bar, the bartenders are very sweet. Why do your waitresses even work there if they're going to be so miserable? I went with a group of 6, our tab was $600 bucks (because of that stupid 3% charge also, but whatever that's fine). You'd think the waitress would like having a big group and want us to order drinks, but every time we asked for something it was the eye roll and sighing. It was my friend's birthday like what's your issue with giving us a round of shots? Over priced shots that we have no issue paying for!!!! Not to mention when my friend wanted one last beer she said no the bar needed to close because of the time, he gave no issue because obviously it was coming down to the covid closing hour. We pay and start walking out only to see fresh tap beers being poured for the people at the bar. I've given this place multiple chances but the waitresses always suck, always miserable and rushing you out/have nasty attitudes. I expected them to serve the menu that was advertised on Yelp, the tuna, and the flat breads etc. That was a bit of a letdown. The decor was nice and the service was good. Id like to see more of an array of food, stuff other than variations of buffalo covered chicken. It wasn't cheap either. $76 bones. If go back I'd be for the beer and brotchen but they'd need to refine the menu to get me to come back for the food. read more

Pretty awesome food selection for where it is on Long Island. The food is very "trendy," albeit quite good. They have a phenomenal and wide-ranging beer selection from IPAs to wheat beer to local craft brews. The selection changes seasonally from what I remember. They also have a "farm-to-table" thing going on here. Their back garden area seems pretty cool, but it was winter when I last visited. They have a good attempt at a beer garden outside, but is pale in comparison to a real beer garden. read more

I don't even know where to begin talking about how awesome this place is! I came her for dinner with my boyfriend and we had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The service was great and our waitress was so friendly. The food at this place was out of this world, and boy do they feed you. My boyfriend and I decided to start with the soup of the day which was potato leek topped with cheddar cheese and and crispy potato sticks. I love potato leek soup and this is quite possibly the best bowl of it I have ever had. I was expecting a typical restaurant sized cup of soup, but what I got was a large crock full of delicious creamy potato goodness. I would have licked the bowl clean if I could have! For my entree I ordered the 50/50 burger, which is a half beef half bacon patty on a brioche bun topped with cheese and crispy potato sticks. It was nothing short of amazing. The meat melted in my mouth. I don't even want to think about the calories that were in it, because I'm sure it would be alarming, but well worth it. The burger also came with delicious fries pickles and house made coleslaw. All of it was was really good. They also brought out a basket with all of their house made dips which included, Bacon Ranch (my fav), Maple Aioli and Sun Dried Tomato Aioli. None of them will disappoint. My boyfriend got the Scratch-made Chicken Pot Pie, which was also really good! The pie filling had a lot of great flavor going on. We ordered the Poutine which was outstanding, then we had the Mackin burger which was amazing, The American onion soup which was such a great twist on the traditional french onion soup, and the bacon hot dog which also was delicious. I came here a few months ago after visiting Barrier Brewery, and split the Cure-All Burger with my boyfriend, and it's definitely too big for one person to eat, unless they're a 7 foot giant. It's absolutely awesome- a bacon cheeseburger with potato sticks in between two grilled cheese sandwiches, served with fries (and pickles I think). It was delicious but definitely artery clogging, haha. The bartender was great and friendly and knew her beers and how to recommend ones based on ones I told her I liked. I'd definitely come back and try it out again, but am leaning more toward the bar/high-top service areas than the seating in the back of the restaurant. read more

I'm a total fan of this place and I would go there every week if I could! Burgers are awesome...some are crazy too like a burger sandwiched between 2 grilled cheese sandwiches! I think my favorite was the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls and the Garbage Plate, which I had at brunch. Between our few visits there, we've tried the entire dessert menu - all are delish. In a world where gimmicky, mediocre "gastropubs" pop up every other week, EGP stands out for all the right reasons. This well conceived, strongly executed operation excelled effortlessly. As in any real gastropub in Europe, the place was dark, mostly quiet and roomy. There were a ton of highly rated microbrews to choose from along with numerous flatscreen TVs with sports on. Best of all, the food & service was fantastic. My bartender was quick, attentive and enhanced the overall experience. I went with the 50/50 burger which is what EGP is known for. A burger, half ground beef, half ground bacon was cooked as ordered and hit all the marks, delivering a rich bacon-y taste through out. A 60/40 or 70/30 blend of beef to bacon would probably make the burger better as the patty was a bit dry & crumbly due to the high bacon content. A few critiques, the pretzel bun is so 2014. I can think of several better bread options for this burger. Literally received 12 French fries with my order. I'm not a fan of getting a 1/2 pound fries with my burger, but EGP's 12 fries isn't good either, they should be a little freer with fry basket. Overall, a great experience & definitely worth checking out if you're in the Oceanside area. read more

Had an amazing dining experience last night! It all started with the friendly hostess who greeted us. Then, waited at a gorgeous bar and enjoyed craft beer and a signature drink, the Oceanside Lemonade. We were seated in a crowded but not uncomfortable dining room with a cool vibe. The wait staff were informative and friendly. Kept us attended to but not overbearing. The food was amazing! Just enough of a kick chicken wings and mouthwatering Philly Cheese steak egg rolls were the perfect start. I had the Cure All Burger, a double bacon burger sandwiched between two grilled cheese sandwiches topped with potato sticks. The waiter who brought it out was amazed I would attempt this colossal feast. From the first bite I was in heaven. My husband had the crispy chicken sandwich on a pretzel roll. Yum!!! They put a caddy of different sauces on the table. Everything is made in house. They are even growing their own herbs. The beef is organic and it tastes it! Everything was so fresh. For dessert we split the s'mores platter. Perfect. Even the marshmallows and Graham crackers were made on site. They brought a funky city place to Long Island successfully. After reading the great reviews, my husband and I settled on EGP for date night this past Saturday. Overall, we had a great time! The only wrinkle in the entire evening was the hostess's lackluster greeting as we entered the restaurant. To provide some context, it was around 9 p.m. on a Saturday night, decent crowd, but not packed. My husband and I walked in and stopped by the hostess's booth. The hostess had her back to us and was attending to something (fyi, a good rule of thumb for a host is to face the direction of the restaurant patrons so that you can greet people as they walk in). We waited for about 2 minutes before she turned around and noticed us. She looked at us blankly forcing me to speak up and ask for a table. She then said "Ok, a server will be with you." No smile, no "Hello", "Welcome to EGP!", or "How's it going guys?"- the sort of welcome one typically expects when walking into a restaurant. I wasn't offended, just unimpressed with the greeting. As someone who enjoys eating out, I tend to notice these things. Once our server arrived, the mood changed drastically, for the better! Elizabeth was our server for the evening, and was fun, enthusiastic and attentive. For cocktails, she recommended the Mexican Rumble for me, and All Up in My Negril for my husband, based upon our tastes. The drinks were fantastic- the right blend of liquor and flavor- whoever made these drinks, knew what they were doing! On to Starters.... We had the chips and dip and the Wings. - For the chips and dips, the highlights were the creamy corn and the edamame hummus. The creamy corn salsa was light and hit the spot on a warm evening. The edamame hummus had a certain zing to it, and was also really good. - The wings were amazing, I mean finger-licking good! Slightly crispy, great sauce, and juicy. I may just make that my entree next time around! Last but not least, the Entrees My husband had the salmon and crab burger, which was done very well. Perfect, but not overbearing seasoning which allowed you to taste the seafood. I had the Gastro Burger- I rarely finish a burger anywhere, but this was so good, I ate every last morsel! High quality meat, great seasoning, very juicy and the pretzel bun held up well to the meat. Caramelized onions added a nice flavor. The fries were pretty good as well. I washed this lovely carnivorous meal down with the Argentinian Cab- great body, good finish and held up well with the burger. Throughout the meal, our server Elizabeth checked on us a few times and made sure all was well with the meal - thank you Elizabeth for the great service! Oh, lest I forget, there was also live music in the patio area where we dined, and the lead female singer had a pretty amazing voice! First time here with our good friends and O have to say you will have life long patrons. The immediate draw was the beer selection on tap. It was pretty amazing. And the food was unbelievably delicious and well prepared. I recommend the poutin and pretzel to start off. And the burgers are so delectable that the our loud table was quickly silenced by the food.
