I almost never leave reviews but our interaction with EHC today was one of the best experiences with an outside service we have ever had. We were suffering through the heatwave and our AC decided to go out. This along with having 2 young children made it urgent to get out AC fixed. Every other AC service we called was booked for the next 5 days and many were outright rude when we called. My wife called Eros Saturday morning and explained we had 2 children and were a little bit in a bind. Eros came out early in the morning before his other appointments and fixed out AC, explaining exactly what was going on every step of the way, and even showing us the broken AC part. On top of that, he came into our house to vacuum the dust out of our air filter duct, as he believed this might be bad for out kids, breathing in dust! Incredible! Eros, the owner of EHC, and his colleague, Cezar, did an absolutely fantastic job in installing a new A/C unit in our home recently. Before hiring EHC, I invited several local HVAC companies to provide estimates on the purchase and installation of an A/C unit. EHC's estimate for the purchase and installation of a new A/C unit was by far the best in town. In fact, EHC saved my wife and me thousands of dollars! Yes, thousands. When Eros and Cezar came to install the A/C unit, they were on time, worked diligently the entire day and cleaned up after themselves. We were desperate on a Sunday right in the middle of a big heat wave. Our air conditioner stopped producing cold air the night before and we needed someone asap. After calling several A/C companies, Eros of EHC came to the rescue same day! The earliest anyone else could come to the house was 3 days to an entire week out! Eros was very friendly, honest, and reasonably priced (even giving me a discount for writing a check). Great guy. He came out earlier in July on a super-hot day and replaced our coolant in the outside compressor as well as a thermostat. He's the only one that would do it on the same day. Efficient, talked us through the options and did his work quickly. Today we had a leak from the furnace unit. He came out within 3 hours. He quickly diagnosed and said it was one of two things 1) debris in the pipe which would be easy to clean, or 2) failed unit which would need replacing and be expensive. He blew air through the pipe and cleared the debris clog and all is working well. Best part is that he didn't want any payment for the call-out!! Our air conditioning hasn't worked 'well' in the 2 years we've lived in our house, but, it was always decent. Last weekend, during a short heat wave, we realized it was really not cooling our house and seemed to be 'freezing over.' Monday morning, I called another company (rhymes with Hustler) and made an apt. for Wednesday to repair. The technician came and after a $135 evaluation, basically made it worse and suggested I call the next day and schedule an apt. to have an estimate on replacing the unit. (And by worse I mean he switched the breaker so it wouldn't even run at the 50% cooling rate it was working, and removed the filter which was LONG overdue. But... he offered no real help and said, "Good luck finding a filter that size, I am not sure they make them anymore). Granted the unit is ready to be replaced, but I suspected that we could do a repair and get another year or two out of it before spending the thousands of dollars it will take to replace. The entire experience with 'Hustler' left me frustrated. Thursday morning, I go back to Yelp and find Eros. Eros himself answered the phone (the guy works his ass off and clearly doesn't have the overhead a full staff of receptionists would cost, and that saves money for the customer!) and although I was expecting another week-long wait to schedule an apt., he said, " do you want me to come today?" "YES!" (Another heat wave is predicted for next week.) Eros gives me a 2 hour window, calls during it and comes in the late afternoon, as he said he would. He doesn't charge me for an evaluation like 'Hustler' did and instead says, "your unit is old, but I can probably fix it to get it running, use a sealant to replace any minor leak and top it off. It will give you another year or two. Total cost of labor is ~$250 and the freon is ~$200. I can fix it tonight." YES Please!! Eros fixes it, we write a check, happily and this morning we are blissful and grateful that Eros was willing to work past dark to ensure we were cool and comfortable. Oh, and he gave me three replacement filters he had, without me asking and without me having to drive around to Hardware stores in a vain attempt to find the right size (as the other technician basically said, "yeah, good luck with that.") I WILL ABSOLUTELY call him when we need to replace it. He is clearly hard working, honest and NOT trying to just get a quick buck. Love Eros!! read more

Eros and his assistant came the same day I called within the time frame that he said he could. He diagnosed and repaired my furnace problem by replacing an igniter. He also changed my thermostat which I decided not to keep so he re-installed my old one and patched. They were professional, knowledgeable, prepared, not the cheapest but reasonably priced, with great customer service. I recommend them! read more

Eros is very professional and very honest. Highly recommend him. He impressed us by his honesty. An air duct cleaning company had told us that we had to replace all the ducts. That guy didn't seem honest and we were ready to pay a hefty amount on changing the ducts with a more reliable professional. But Eros said there was no need to do it! He came for a free estimate and assured us that the ducts are in good shape. We also asked him for an estimate for adding an extra vent and ducting for a new room in the house. He gave us options and said it would be more expensive now that he is very busy, but would be cheaper if we did it in the spring. We will call him again at the beginning of spring. The moral of the story is: never trust those air duct cleaning companies! read more

Was overcharged, unhappy with the service (my heater works worse now then before they came), promised a call for a future appointment (they didn't call) and spent too much time trying to reach the owner to follow up to leave this as a five star review. Our heater has been out for about 2 years. I had originally called a local repair person and he charged me $90 to come out and troubleshoot. He quoted me about $1300 for the repair job but he was actually trying to upsell me a new furnace. Anyway, i decided against this repair person and decided to go with space heaters for a while. Fast forward to this week when i found Eros information on nextdoor and yelp. I was first intrigued by the $45 charge to come out and troubleshoot. I figured it's good to get a 2nd opinion and worst case i would be out of $45. I spoke with Eros and scheduled an appointment for Saturday. The technician come out and was very pleasant. He was trouble shooting the heater and ultimately found the root cause. He showed me what the issue was and worked up a quote. He called Eros so i could speak to him about the quote and explain what the issue was. I appreciate not being upsold on a new furnace. The technician stayed for about 2 hours troubleshooting because he wanted to make sure that that's what the issue was. I decided to go ahead with the repair because: 1) Honesty and trustworthy 2) Took the time to troubleshoot. Really went above and beyond. 3) Prices were reasonable 4) Constantly Communicated. 5) Did not try to sell me a new furnace. 6) Cleaned up after themselves. 7) I had some duct tape coming off the vents. Installed some tape without charge. 8) Cleaned the furnace area and tuned it. We finally have HEAT after 2 years. My wife is sooo happy and we don't have to use space heaters anymore. I would highly recommend EHC heating and cooling for any issues related to your furnace. The owner, Eros, fixed our furnace issue in a timely, efficient, cost-effective, ethical, and professional manner. We have a 9 year old Carrier furnace. I called the Carrier 800 number the day after "the biggest storm in the bay area in 10 years", was referred to a certified, local repair shop, and made an appointment. Instead of waiting 4 days, I found EHC via a web search and reviewing Yelp. I made an appointment for the next day and his minimum service charge was 50% less than the recommended shop. On Saturday morning, Eros checked out the furnace and related parts, read the error codes, and identified the needed replacement part (pressure regulator). On Monday, he gave me the cost and labor and I gave my approval. Eros ordered the part on Monday and picked it up on Tuesday. He returned to install the part on Tuesday evening. After installing the new part, the same error code displayed. Through his analysis and experience, Eros figured out that the air intake pipe was clogged. Our furnace was working! Instead of simply (or dishonestly) leaving the new part in place, he took the time to reinstall the old (working) part. Eros could have saved himself the effort and easily charged me for the part and labor which I had approved. He gained a very satisfied and warm customer. read more

I am so impressed by the service I received from Eros. My air conditioner hasn't worked in 2 years and I was sure I needed a whole new system and just could not afford it. With the horrible heat this season I decided to bite the bullet and call someone out for an estimate. I expected to wait for weeks before anyone would be able to come. I checked all the Yelp reviews and EHC was highly recommended by so many people so I gave them a call. Much to my surprise they said they would be able to come out the same day. Talk about good customer service. Eros arrived several hours later, checked out my system and advised me it had no freon. He gave me a very reasonable price which I found out later after talking to friends was a great deal! He also checked my ducts because I knew we had some critter problems last year and there was a lot of torn up insulation. Eros said there were a few spots which would attention however there were no leaks and the repairs could wait until fall. I can't praise Eros enough for his honesty and pleasant demeanor. Truly a very nice person. I will be calling him back in the fall to take care of the ducting work. I highly recommend him and have already passed his name around to some other people. We needed a new furnace and air conditioner and after reading Yelp reviews I got three estimates. The pricing was similar but I was most impressed with Eros. Eros and Freddy worked so hard in the installation and were so personable as well. They added a new vent in our larger kitchen/dining/living room area that appears to really help distribute the air more evenly through the house. We called on a Saturday afternoon, the week before Thanksgiving, and he was able to provide same-day service (The first company we called said that they wouldn't be able to come out for two weeks). He was very professional, and worked quickly to install a new ignitor. When we mentioned we were having trouble installing our Nest thermostat, he offered to do that for us for free.
