I normally cannot drink milk but no issues here. My favorite matcha drink from them is their Raspberry Matcha. It has fresh milk and raspberry at the bottom. It gives your regular boring matcha drink some special flavor. The raspberry goes well with it. For my favorite non-matcha drink, I love their Brown Honey Fresh Milk boba. The decor of this place is goals! Super cozy and minimalistic, all the accents and plants compliment the place so much. I'd love to sit here and do work all day if I could. I have to say that the Eightfold Signature and the Raspberry Matcha are hands down the best drinks on the menu for me. I remember coming here long time ago (less than 2 years ago) and tried their strawberry matcha with soy milk substitute and was pretty disappointed by how grainy their matcha + soy milk combo tasted. Came back here to try their other drinks, mainly the fruit teas. I went for their strawberry shaken fruit tea while my bf got their mango shaken fruit tea. I got mine at 50% sweet, which ended up being just right for me (a tad sweet), which I think the bitterness of strawberry helped. For the mango, it was waaaaay too sweet. We ended up going back into the store asking for lower sweetness, but they couldn't go any lower on adjustment (the mango syrup(?) they use is already pretty sweet). Instead, they added more tea to balance the taste. Was nice of them to modify the drink, which made it more tolerable. read more

A solid boba shop in Costa Mesa. It's located in the same plaza as Target and Mother's Market, but closer to the entrance by Baker right next Chronic tacos. There's not very much seating inside, but still a cute little boba. The deep matching and black sugar fresh milk are really good drinks. It's not too sweet or rich. I love the bitterness of the deep matcha and there's even matcha flan included. The black sugar fresh milk had a great caramel toffee taste to it. Eightfold has a great matcha drink that I used to really enjoy with their soy milk. Unfortunately, they no longer have the soy alternative so I was quite disappointed. Their soy paired perfectly with the deep matcha but I recently tried the deep matcha with almond milk and it definitely wasn't as delicious or amazing. But I will comment that the boba and matcha pudding is always on point and makes the deep matcha very enjoyable and unique. I also tried the eightfold signature milk tea with their whipped cream cheese on top. The cheese to tea ratio is great since I really like the cheese topping and there was a ton in the cup! But, the milk tea was kind of disappointing since I was expecting a regular black milk tea flavor and was met with earl grey tea. I do like earl grey but I feel like they should put out a disclaimer regarding what they consider to be their signature. I didn't think that the cheese topping was great with the earl grey flavor but both were good on their own. Next time, I will definitely be getting a more traditional tea to pair with the cream cheese topping. The service here is always quick and friendly as there aren't many people here at once, especially during COVID. Parking is easy and I always get the spot right outside the location and it is easy to find. The interior is cute and simple with a lowkey plant theme and I would imagine it would be very nice to study here or chill with friends when that is possible again!
