I tried the Double Green, a mixture of honeydew and matcha milk tea! The drink itself looked promising but was very watery even at full sweetness. the honeydew flavor was definitely there but I could not taste the matcha at all. My friend got the Marbled Strawberry which was a little bit better but overall just tasted like strawberry milk. read more

One of my new favorite boba places to go to! Personally, I'm a huge fan of ice milk drinks, so Eightfold hits the mark perfectly. The deep matcha was visually appealing and tasted amazing. The combination of matcha, pudding, boba, and milk were perfect. What I liked was that there was a hint of a coconut taste which is unique in comparison with other matcha drinks or boba places. I tried the Eightfold signature as well on 100% sweetness and 75% sweetness. Both are good and you get a strong flowery taste mixed with milk tea. If you like sweeter drinks, definitely recommend 100%. The price is just right in my opinion at $5 for deep matcha and $4ish for the signature! Tried the brown honey (their #1 top drink that people order) which is probably the sweetest of the fresh milk drinks. If you enjoy typical fresh milk drinks with caramel, boba, and pudding, you will love this drink. Feel free to adjust the sweetness to your preference! Also tried the Raspberry matcha (#5 top drink), which was pretty good, but I personally prefer the other 3 in comparison to this one. Overall, my favorite is probably the deep matcha and the Eightfold signature. Relatively small with 4 small tables, so if you have a group of friends to study with, probably not an ideal spot to to to. However, if you have 1 or 2 people to study with, it's fine. read more

I've been to Eightfold twice now and each time I was welcomed by super friendly service! At first, I thought it looked like an Omomo knock off with the similar logo, store aesthetics, and menu, but definitely worth a try. If it's your first time or you're just not sure what to get, they offer samples of some of their drinks. There's also a check in offer for a free topping :) Raspberry matcha milk tea with matcha pudding: - A unique mix of flavors - You can actually taste the matcha in the matcha pudding - I wish there was a stronger raspberry flavor - Overall: 3.5/5 Honey lavender milk tea with flan pudding: - Super delicious and fresh tasting! - I love how light this drink tastes however I would recommend getting less sugar - Doesn't taste super artificial - Overall: 4.5/5 I also really enjoyed my samples of the eightfold signature milk tea. Not coming here EVER AGAIN. I come here almost every single week. Today (5/14/21 at about 3:15pm) I ordered my usual strawberry green tea with lychee jelly. It looked different today so I questioned the girl and she said they changed their recipe. I picked up the drink and it wasn't even filled up all the way. And i asked her if they started giving out less in their drinks too and she said it's bc it's blended. Ok. lol you can look at the review below mine written by Megha, the picture she attached. The drink is not filled up all the way either!!!! it looks like they have completely new workers now. The last time i went here was exactly two weeks ago and it was NOT like this. Did not enjoy the experience. First, we thought we'd sit there and hang out but all the chairs were dirty , stained, looked disgusting. We decided to sit outside, luckily the neighboring restaurant wasn't bothered we used their seating. So, anyway, my friend and I walked in and saw the buy 2 get 1 free sign. We told the cashier we have a 3rd friend coming so we're going to do the special. She informed we were free to review the menu. We asked if we could order any drink for the special and she replied we are welcome to order any drink. our third friend arrived, and she read the fine print and said we couldn't do the special because it was Saturday and the special was mon-thur only. So we asked the cashier and she confirmed yes that is for our happy hour menu. We felt her responses were all kinda off but didn't think too much of it until it kept happening. I asked what's the difference between the black sugar and brown sugar milk tea and she replied yes we have the black sugar and brown sugar milk tea. My friend repeated what's the difference? This is our first time here. The cashier replied yes they are different. I then asked what's the difference between black and brown sugar, we don't know what that is, is one sweeter or more bitter or more healthy or? And the cashier said yes we offer many sweetness levels you may customize. We were really annoyed by now because it was like the online virtual assistant chat feature with a robot that never quite gets what you're asking for. Anyway In the end I got the black sugar milk tea and my friends got the brown sugar milk tea at 100% sugar level. It was actual not very sweet, which is our preference but mine tasted watered down and like the tea was old, sitting around for a while. Theirs didn't have any tea flavor and we realized they received "brown sugar milk". We didn't hate it but we won't be returning given all the boba options available now. read more

I came here during the grad opening. They have a special deal where you buy one and get one drink free. Their most popular drink is probably the deep matcha. Their signature eightfold drink was not impressive. It's basically just your typical milk tea drink. However, I do like the deep matcha. It's mixed with milk, boba, and matcha pudding. The presentation of the drink and taste was pretty good. It's definitely sweet but not overly heavy tasting. It's a cute and clean little tea shoppe and the service was friendly. read more

I've been searching for somewhere that can replacement my cravings for Lavender Milk Tea that Milkbox left me with. I am so glad to have found Eightfold! Most places uses a powered flavoring, but not this place. You can taste the real tea and they make each drink to order. Boba is chewy and sweet. The cashier wasn't very enthusiastic about his job tho. Took a little while of me standing there before someone noticed. Maybe put a little bell/chime on the door so you know when a customer entered? read more

This boba place has been on my list to visit quite often. I'm an Irvine native so we're not very close, but since we were down at South Coast Plaza, we had an excuse to visit since it was only 8 min away. Overall this place is very good. We had their passionfruit and mango smoothie as well as their Four Noble Fruits tea. We don't like overly sweet things and 50% sugar was perfect for us. My four noble fruits was tart but good, and so was the smoothie. Just slightly sweet. Will come back if I'm in the area ;) read more

If you're a matcha lover I would definitely get the deep matcha! The matcha taste was strong and kept me awake all night! Even with regular sweetness it wasn't too bad because I usually get 50%. If you're not a fan of matcha, the eightfold milk tea was really good!! Loved that some of the drinks already came with pudding and boba so I didn't have to pay extra! read more

I've been hearing a lot about this boba store and after seeing pictures, I couldn't wait to try it! Came before the official grand opening so trying to find the store was a bit hard, but after driving and walking around my friend and I were able to find it! Upon arrival, the staff were very welcoming and were very patient with us as we both looked at the menu deciding on what we wanted. We were also given a sample of the Eightfold signature milk tea, which was really really good and refreshing! However, I got the Deep Matcha drink with matcha pudding and boba (which is included btw!). After seeing pictures and a huge matcha fan myself, I couldn't miss the opportunity to try this! The drink was pretty good and the matcha flavor was definitely there. It didn't exactly wow me as OMOMO did but I think it's still worth it! Considering the price you get for a drink with boba and pudding all under $5! Will definitely return again if in the area and probably will order the Eightfold signature milk tea next time. read more

Drinks look so freaking good!!! I got the deep matcha. You gotta mix it before you drink it so then it just looks like a regular matcha color. The taste is really good! Impressed with the matcha pudding!!! Only thing is that I added Crystal boba instead of regular, and I can't drink the crystal boba!!! It's all stuck together in one giant clump. I got the eightfold fresh milk drink with boba and was a bit disappointed. The boba pearls were super hard and tasted old, like when you leave it in the fridge and try to drink it the next day. I hope that's not how they usually make it. Good thing I got it for free with the Yelp check in though. The drink itself was ok. It was a mix of earl grey tea and fresh milk. I went there with a couple of my friends for the first time and we didn't come out too happy with our experience. The employees mixed up our numbers and gave us the wrong drinks. They apologized and said they were new so we weren't too bothered. Management could definitely improve as it looked quite hectic while they were making our drinks. Almost made me think this place just opened that day or something. read more

I ordered the Deep Matcha, and although the drink was primarily ice, it was still good. I enjoyed the flavors but I do think the matcha wasn't strong enough to taste despite its dark color since the drink was mostly milk and ice. I rate this place 4 stars because while it was enjoyable, my drink only lasted about 4 sips and the boba(tapioca) itself did not taste very fresh. I would visit again, and the atmosphere in the shop is quite lovely. There are some cute photo ops for you and your drinks, so it's definitely worth a try. read more

I love the nutty, roasted flavor of Hojicha and it's not widely available at most boba shops so I had to try it when I saw it on the menu. Got a Hojicha milk tea at 25% sweet and added boba. The flavor of the tea was strong and not watered down and the sweetness level was perfect (for me). The boba adds just enough sweetness at the 25% level. Boba was chewy enough but could have been more chewy. read more

Love this place! I keep coming back here bc I wanna try different drinks on the menu since I've liked every single one I've tried so far! I've had the signature milk tea, salted caramel fresh milk & brown sugar fresh milk. I dont even have a favorite bc I actually like them all! Salted caramel fresh milk has a good amount of salt in it and I Love that! Some places are dont make salted caramel things that salty and it really defeats the purpose. LOL. Although this drink was bomb. I wish it was slightly sweeter. Brown sugar fresh milk is def one of the more balanced brown sugar milks I've tried. A lot of places make it too milky and not enough syrup or they make it too sweet. This was a good in between. The signature milk tea is so good if youre craving that strong tea flavor. I'm not sure what tea they use for this but it's a very deep roasted floral flavor! I dont think I've tried a tea blend like this before and I loved it! FYI the boba here is firmer than most other boba shops. I personally really like it but if you like softer and chewier boba you might not! read more

My sister and I decided to try a new (to us) tea shoppe that we've had our eyes on. I ordered a Black Sugar milk tea and my sister got the Wintermelon milk tea. No adjustments were made, no toppings were added. I might have made a mistake by not shaking up my drink at first, so my first sip was sweeter than the rest of the drink. But overall I liked it, not too sweet and it had a great milk tea taste. I was also able to get a taste of my sister's Wintermelon milk tea and it was pretty sweet, but I liked it as well. Service was great. Ambiance was chill. On a Sunday afternoon, there was more than enough parking and it wasn't too busy. I would definitely recommend checking out this tea shoppe to satisfy a milk tea craving. read more

To begin the staff is VERY KIND and helpful I explaining the menu and offering samples of the teas they had on hand. This in no way reflects the workers However, the tea itself was disgusting. I got a hojicha milk tea half sweet and my boyfriend got a regular ceylon also half sweet. His drink was still somehow incredibly sweet and undrinkable. Mine was okay but it didn't have any real tea flavor and mostly just tasted like milk with some sugar and a hint of tea. On instagram they have a lot of pictures featuring their flavored milks- they're very beautiful and aesthetic and I didn't try it this time around. It does seem to be their more "specialty" item, so it may be worth going back for that. But for just tea, it's a no go for me. read more

Whenever I go to a new boba shop, I usually order the taro milk tea - it's my favorite flavor. So I ordered the taro milk tea here and was just... unimpressed. When they called my name for the drink, I saw how bright purple the drink was and knew it was likely made with artificial flavoring. Regardless, I wanted to try it with an open mind. I took the first sip, and it tasted so sweet, artificial and off to me. I didn't like it at all and couldn't finish the drink. I sampled my friend's drinks as well - brown sugar & the strawberry drink and not sure if I have high standards, but I didn't care for them either. I came with my two friends and we each ordered separately. I was the only one who didn't get a stamp card. I was also not asked about how sweet I wanted my drink. Well, ok thanks I guess. I will say the decor of the store was very cute and nice looking! I don't think I will come back personally but it is just a matter of my taste buds. Staff was friendly enough and decor is cute, but $4.25 for a drink I couldn't finish? Nah I'll pass. read more

I got the Raspberry Matcha with Matcha Pudding and Boba after reading the first few reviews about their Deep Matcha drink. I wanted to try the Raspberry Matcha though, and one review incorporated both the matcha pudding and boba toppings from the Deep Matcha into the Raspberry Matcha so I had to try it myself. I had high expectations for this drink and really wanted to like it, but it tasted powdery and the matcha pudding was really grainy and left an after-taste. I got the drink at 75% sweet, and I probably should have gotten it at 100%. I'm used to having to ask for less sugar for matcha drinks at other places, so I was surprised at how not sweet this drink was at 75% sweetness. It actually tasted a bit watery, but with a strong matcha powdery taste. Not good. I saw other reviews with similar comments only after leaving. Should have looked deeper into the reviews, I guess, haha. It's a really nice-looking drink, though. I will give it that, at least. My brother's friend got the Deep Matcha, which also comes with the Matcha pudding and he didn't like the pudding either, but he got his with cheese foam, which was the only redeeming part of the drink. If I come here again, I would probably get the Matcha drinks with just boba and either egg pudding or cheese foam and stick with their standard sweetness level. read more

Idk if they changed recipes or ownership, but the drinks definitely DO NOT taste the same as before. I've been a regular here for the last two years or so? Their drinks were always consistent and it was good then. I'd always get their eightfold signature milk tea, but now it tastes completely different like they used a different type or brand of tea. As I mentioned, I am a regular here and I would recognize all the workers each visit, but I didn't notice the workers here from today's visit. I noticed their menu design changed as well as their register which led me to think their ownership or management have changed. I don't mind change, but they should have kept the recipes the same. I used to supervise a boba shop before, I can tell that the recipe has completely changed and that it wasn't just a bad batch of drinks today. read more

I came with my family on a Thursday afternoon. The drinks we got ranged from gross to mediocre. The deep matcha tasted horrible-- nothing like the earthy, authentic matcha taste that I look for in matcha drinks. The matcha "pudding" also had a strange flaky texture and it wasn't smooth like an egg pudding. It just tasted gross in my mouth. I couldn't drink it, and everyone agreed that it tasted bad. My mom got the 4 Fold fruit tea and it was just okay. But my mom asked if it was made with fresh fruit juice and the cashier said yes, and then proceeded to whip out a carton of Sunny-D and passionfruit jam. This place tries really hard to look aesthetic and high quality like other competitors such as Sunright, but they really cut a lot of corners in the actual ingredients of their drinks. Don't recommend-- save your money and go elsewhere :/ read more

Always a good pick me up when I need it. I get the Jasmine milk tea at 25% and my wife gets the Earl Grey milk tea at 75%. Taste is on point every time -- perfect consistent sweetness (not too sweet, the highest Asian dessert compliment!) and the tea flavor is aromatic and rich. read more

Can't get enough of this place!! I've had the eightfold signature milk tea, strawberry matcha & deep matcha so far. They are ALL so good. My go-to would be the eightfold signature milk tea. If I'm feeling a little extra, I'd definitely get the deep matcha again. The matcha pudding is perfectly sweet. The boba is perfectly sweet and chewy as well. So glad I found this place! This new boba shop is amazing!!! The venue itself is quite small, so I probably would only plan here to get drinks and go (although there were a few tables). But more importantly, I tried the Deep Matcha while my friend had the Black Sugar drink and both were really flavorful! I liked how there were toppings already included in the drink -- for instance, mine included matcha pudding (yum!) and boba! And the sizes of the cups were pretty big; I was surprised to see such a tall cup. So, you really get what you pay for, plus really nice customer service while you're at it. read more

Always excited to try new boba places in the area! Eightfold has been a consistent favorite for me - the tea flavor is strong enough and their drinks are quality. Their specialty drinks are also great! If you're a matcha fan, the deep matcha is great - everything matcha, even matcha pudding! I personally really like their sea cream with jasmine green tea - the sea cream has perfect consistency and has great flavor. The staff has consistently been very nice and helpful, giving great recommendations and answering questions thoroughly! Will be returning to try out their other drinks! read more

Depends on the drink you get, I think. I had a raspberry matcha latte and I think the lowest they had for that was 25% sweetness, bc of the raspberry purée. That would probably be applied to other similar drinks

I got there and no one was within view. Once again, no problem they have a bell for a reason. I rang the bell and no one came out. I was also trying to listen for any sounds in the back if they were busy with anything. Nope. All I heard was a super loud Reddit story time. I literally walked around multiple times to see if I could see any sort of movement and rang the bell more times. Once the person finally came out, he looked at me and then went to move a couple items and I had to ring the bell AGAIN. What is the point of online order? Or the bell? This isn't the first time this specific employee has ignored us/people in general. I'm genuinely annoyed at how many times this has happened with this guy. We put in the order well before we get there to allow time for rushes or any issues. We've never had issues with other employees but the person wearing glasses, a hoodie, and a normally heavily stained sunright shirt.

This is the only establishment/business i have ever been to with this insanely high level of poor inconsistency. One in five drinks are made grossly incorrect. I am tired of this. I will not be returning. Wushiland is down the street. Their drinks might not be better when tastea makes its drink properly but atleast it's consistent. Tastea has become just terrible. Edit: i ordered a light sweet peach me sweet tea but it definitely is full sweet. I get it 90% of the time. It is quite obviously made incorrectly.

Easily one of the best breakfast burritos I've had in Orange County. The balance of flavors is perfect, the ingredients taste super fresh, and somehow every bite still has a little bit of everything in it. I also appreciated that it didn't feel overly greasy or heavy the way breakfast burritos sometimes do. The space definitely gets crowded, especially on weekends, and finding a seat can take some patience. But honestly, grabbing a coffee and one of these burritos and hanging out for a bit is completely worth it. This is officially one of my go to breakfast spots in Costa Mesa.

So I checked out this boba place the other day, and let me tell you, the boba itself was AMAZING! Seriously, the texture was perfect - chewy and delightful. The drinks were good too, although I'd say they lean towards the sweeter side. They totally let me adjust the sweetness, though, so I went with 50% and that was just right for me. I tried the matcha and the Thai tea. The matcha was super strong and earthy, which I loved! The Thai tea was a bit milder, more on the subtle side. It was tasty, just not as bold. I'm still on the hunt for my ultimate favorite boba spot, but this place is definitely a solid contender! If you're craving boba, you should give it a try. read more

This is my first time here and I was immediately welcomed by their staff. Ran by a very friendly and loving small family. I got their Eightfold Signature Milk Tea and it tastes differently compared to Ding Tea, 7 Leaves, and Tastea. It's not too milky and not too watery, just right. The ambiance for the tea shoppe is very terrarium-like, giving the environment of the the shop an earthy feel. Very chill music. The tea had a nice aroma and tasted great, not overly sweet. Loved that you can choose your sweetness level, which is perfect if you don't like your drinks too sugary.
