This place is great! There's a variety of different drinks available to choose from. Normally I like to drink fruit teas, however, going to Eightfold they offer a good variety of the Craft Milk Teas! I've only really tried a few drinks here which are the Taro, Mango Passion w/ Salted Cheese, Eightfold Signature, and one of the Freshmilks (can't remember which one). All were good with the exception of the Taro. Taro flavor just isn't for me wherever I try it anywhere haha. I really do recommend getting the Mango Passion with Salted Cheese! I normally never order smoothies but the cashier recommended it and it's REALLY good! The taste reminded me of the mango cake for Red Ribbon! Let's start off with the fact that the employees do not use gloves and touch their face masks in between making drinks. While ordering a girl came from the back on her phone and then decided to put her mask on because she saw customers. The customer service was not so friendly, it's as if they spent more time doing their makeup than making sure their store and employees were keeping up with health standards. The drinks were subpar at best. The tea was fine and that's about it. The boba was bland, super chewy with no flavor. After my order was taken another customer had come in and for some reason she was offered a stamp card and I was not. A few moments after I was called to get my order and the girl who gave me my drink rudely said, "don't forget to shake it" with a smirk on her face. Maybe try to not touch your mask in between making drinks, touching the register, and everything in between. I heard such great things about Eightfold and decided to give it a try. I really didn't like my drink :( I got their raspberry matcha and there just wasn't anything special about it. I don't think the matcha taste was strong enough and just felt like I was drinking milk. Their boba is also pretty hard/not sweetened and I would not recommend getting it. I ordered the houjicha milk tea (the only other place I've seen this on the menu is at Boba Guys), half sugar with boba, and it was so, so good! I stopped by Eightfold Tea after having lunch with my cousins over the weekend. The shop is in this shopping center off of Baker and Harbor Blvd in Costa Mesa. The décor is minimalistic and they take credit cards. We were given samples of the classic milk tea but both decided that it was on the sweet side. The cashier offered to make whatever drinks we ordered less sweet. You can do half sweet or 75% sweet. My cousin and I opted to try the strawberry matcha milk tea, half sweet. Two milk teas ($4.25 +tax each) later, we decided to drink them at the shop and catch up on life. The strawberry flavor is mildly pronounced and the matcha is delicately woven in. I like that it's given to you layered and you're supposed to shake it up before drinking. The service was friendly and quick. They only offer one size so you don't have to decide between regular or large. The drink we ordered was pretty good and I can't wait to try more flavors. read more

Somebody gotta give y'all the real here and TBH definitely not the place for experienced boba junkies. I've tried 3 different drinks here on separate occasions and all 3 weren't very good. First of all, all their drinks are shockingly sweet, to the point where it leaves a bad syrupy taste in your mouth so I've tried to order both 70 and 50% less sugar different times. Their Ceylon make taste was quite bland, didn't taste much tea or milk. The jasmine tea wasn't bad, but wasn't good either. It had a refreshing finish but again no real tea taste or even creamy texture and don't even get me started on the signature milk tea. The sample could have given me diabetes alone. To overcome the diluted drink pattern and change up the odd taste I got it with highly recommended cheese foam, and the outcome tasted like old cereal captain crunch milk. Just ended up throwing the whole drink away, however the customer service is nice and the boba has a good texture with a bounce but will definitely not be back. They warned me that bc of the reduction of sweetness I wouldn't get a strong raspberry taste but I thought it was fine. this place is terrible the fact that they have this many start is surprising. came here for the first time thinking that it was good boba & got the marbled strawberry. the strawberry is just sour jar strawberries which tasted terrible with the drink & it was so overly sweet. i went back & asked the girl working in the front on 11/10 at 6:17pm if i could change the drink to one of the same price. she proceeded to charge me in the register & i asked her saying I can't switch after i told her what i wanted. i said nicely that i didn't understand why i couldn't switch the drink out when it was completely full & i took one sip. she said sorry i cant. so i said okay nvm i dont want the drink i left the drink there with her & left. terrible customer service too if you ask me. i would DEFINITELY recommend not coming here if you love boba as much as i do & LOVE good customer service. there are so many boba places out there that would be happy to switch out a drink if you didn't like it because they truly care about their customers. i wasted $7 on a drink that i ended up giving back & they "couldn't" do anything about it. read more

This place is relatively new so there weren't much people when we went in, thankfully. The cashier was quick to attend to me and my friends because we looked confused with their menu. He explained that everything they have (except the boba) is made in-house! They made an extra raspberry matcha so they gave it to us for free. I had high expectations for it because it seemed like such a popular item given the many Yelp pictures of it, but it was actually the worst drink out of the 3 that we got. The raspberry made the drink coagulate and become thick in a weird way :( The matcha pudding was so good though! The deep matcha (includes matcha syrup, boba, matcha pudding) and signature milk tea were much better and I'd come back for those! This place will definitely be my go to boba shop now! They have a great selection of drinks: your standard milk teas, fresh milk drinks (which contain no caffeine), fruit teas, and blended drinks! You can adjust the sweetness of your drinks, although they haven't put that option on their menu yet. Both of the times that I've went here, I've encountered employees who were very welcoming and kind. The girl that was there this time around helped me navigate through the menu and let me sample a few of their drinks. I got to sample their Eightfold Signature Milk Tea and their Honey Lavender Milk Tea. Both were amazing and not too sweet. I'm not a fan of Lavender flavored drinks, but the lavender was very subtle! So far, I've tried their Deep Matcha, their Ceylon Tea with Cheese Foam, and their Raspberry Matcha Milk Tea. They were all great drinks, but my favorite has to be their Deep Matcha or Ceylon Tea with Cheese Foam so far. I'm sure this will definitely change as I make my way through the menu! Deep Matcha: Matcha flavor is subtle, but there. I customized my drink to be 75% sweetness. It was hardly sweet, even at 75%. I usually get 0% or the lowest sweetness for my drinks at boba shops but 75% was just fine for me. If you are looking for a stronger matcha flavor, Daniel suggested that 100% sweetness is ideal to get the most optimal flavor and experience! I also got my drink with boba with the check in offer. The boba still needs some improvement as it was a little on the tougher side. Wasn't terrible by any means, but hopefully they'll master getting the consistency just right when the grand opening rolls around! Raspberry Matcha Milk Tea: My brother got this and was pleasantly surprised with how well the raspberry and matcha paired together. It's a perfect drink if you're looking for something unique on the menu. The raspberry isn't very sweet and is a little more on the sour end. It's a very solid drink! Ceylon Tea with Cheese Foam: Opted for the next best option because Oolong Tea ran out! Sad, but it's okay! I customized my drink to have 0% sweetness. The tea was made just the way that I liked and had no hint of sweetness whatsoever. Some boba shops add sweet syrups to their teas despite requesting 0% sugar. However, this place doesn't do that which is great! I'm very pleased with my experiences here so far! New businesses tend to have a lot that they can improve on, but this place seems to know what they're doing. However, I do hope that they will offer stamp cards or a point system soon after they settle down. Can't wait to come back for more and see this little boba shop grow! read more

I was sooo sad when I came here to satisfy my boba craving.. their boba is NOT GOOD. It's hard and tasteless, which is a big no no with all the bomb boba places around nowadays. But if you like milk tea, their eightfold signature milk tea (I got 50% sweet) was good. I could really taste the tea in it, which is something I like! My bf got the marbled strawberry fresh milk and the matcha strawberry. The strawberry fresh milk was pretty good (but nothing crazy, it's just strawberry milk?). Ordered the honey lavender boba and deep matcha. The girl at the cash register seemed very confused by any question I had which was super frustrating. Not sure what they put in the deep matcha but it was super chunky and gross and I shook the thing a million times. Idk what's in it to make it so slimy and chunky like that but the girl couldn't answer it for me. The honey lavender was EXCELLENT!!! It's on the sweet side and you can full on taste both flavors. Eightfold Tea Shoppe has pretty good drinks, but since this place reminds me of OMOMO, I honestly prefer OMOMO over this. Despite saying that, it was something I genuinely did enjoy and their drinks were high in quality! The drive front my place to this location is pretty far if I'm ever craving boba so I wouldn't go out of my way to get it but if I'm in the area, I wouldn't pass it up either. This place looked promising based on these other reviews and when we were ordering, the dude was super helpful in recommending us drinks. We ended up getting the strawberry matcha and their most popular drink deep matcha (no boba because they ran out). We appreciate the bittersweet taste of matcha but what ruined it entirely in both drinks was the powdery consistency of matcha in every sip. The last time I had a powdery matcha drink was when I tried to make one at my house for the first time. lol. I was so sad that they had run out of boba when I came, but the female employee was extremely accommodating. She offered samples of crystal boba for me to try, and even added additional stamps on my stamp card to make up for the inconvenience. I appreciate her going above & beyond to prioritize the customers satisfaction! My only note was to make sure that all employees are wearing gloves when preparing the drinks. Especially during times like this, it is super important to keep up all safety and health measures. The texture and flavors just didn't jam well for me. I am not the typical customer base because I don't like sugary drinks. I got the 4 noble fruits, which has orange, strawberry, kiwi, and lime. The tea was fruity and refreshing but didn't taste much of the tea. I asked for no sugar but they said the sugar was what brought out the flavors of the fruit. The matcha blended drink was just ok. New boba joint in town and of course I had to check it out! Been there twice just to make sure it wasn't a one hit wonder and it's solid stuff! First time I got the black honey fresh milk 50% sweetened, surprisingly, not as milky as I was expecting and I throughly enjoyed it. I was worried it might be too milky but it was just right! Second time I got the jasmine milk tea with cheese cream 50% and it did not disappoint, the tea flavor is allll there! Normally other shops you can taste very little of the tea even when the sweeten is taken down but they got their tea game on point and I love it. Great customer service and and their boba is chewy! I'm a lavender addict. When I saw they have honey lavender milk tea I freakin jumped because there's not a lot of boba places make lavender milk tea. The staff there was super friendly and nice. The girl at the cash register greeted and offered me samples right away when I walked up to the counter. And of course I ordered a Honey Lavender Milk Tea with Boba. My boyfriend ordered a Lychee Black Tea with Lychee jelly. They do sweetness adjustment on drinks but I wasn't sure if they would go heavy on syrup, so the staff suggested to do 25% sweetness first and then add more if i think it's not enough. What impressed me was the staff was so time and cost efficient that she asked me to try out the drink they've made with 25% sweet first before they pour and seal the cup. I think that's very smart of her because that's one less cup/seal goes to waste! I'm glad she did that because I ended up asking for 50% sweetness for my drink. My drink was pretty good. I like how it was a strong milk tea with a hint of lavender taste. I really hate how other boba places dilute their milk tea and call it less sweet, but not this place. One thing I had to complain was the boba was kinda soggy. I wish it was more chewy, then my drink would be perfect. My boyfriend ordered his drink in 50% sweetness. The first sip tasted pretty good and normal but the more he drank it the more he felt the sweetness is overpowering. Overall, I would definitely come back and try their other drinks.
