Not usually one to leave a review, but this bagel experience was horrific. This was my first time at any Einstein Bros Bagels location and I am thoroughly disappointed. The line was absolutely horrendously long and many workers prioritized the drive thru rather than the inside. I waited 30 minutes for my order which came out completely wrong. They ran out of the bagels I ordered and only had minimal options to sub with. Additionally, they toasted bagels that weren't supposed to be toasted and included eggs and schmear that nobody asked for. I completely understand these workers were under high stress and trying to do the best they can, but some leadership is needed at this location. Too many people were trying to do things at once and it results in complete chaos. Many people around me also requested refunds. Overall, a 1/10 and will not be returning. read more

Employees don't care about accuracy or timeliness. On multiple occasions I have come away charged for things I didn't order, incorrect items, and potential genetic reactions. Drive through is 20 minutes to get through for simple orders. I can't say I'm impressed. I have been to lots of Einstein Bros Bagels in my life. Today I was underwhelmed at this location. I was not greeted when I entered in spite of 4-5 employees behind the counter and zero customers being served. It probably took 2 full minutes for anyone to offer to take my order. How do you mess up a toasted bagel with peanut butter? You undertoast it. So I asked them to throw it under the toaster for another few seconds. They remade it for me but it took several minutes. I was surprised at lack of service as I was standing at the counter for several minutes waiting for my food, and no one seemed to care. read more

I am a big time fan of Einstein's Bagels- they are delicious and my order is always right. Management is awesome and staff is, for the most part, friendly. But they are only getting 3 stars today because it seems like every other time I go (and I come to this particular location a few times a week) the person who takes my order has a slight attitude (like she doesn't want to be there) and the wait time is ridiculously long. It is obvious that there aren't many people working when I go because the person who takes my order takes a few minutes to show up at the window, and then leaves again- I am guessing to complete my order. I think it's just a little understaffed. However the young lady that was there today was very nice and apologized for the wait. I will never stop coming here, I just wish there were more people working here, and happy people at that. I know working in the food industry isn't amazingly fun, but a smile can go a long way. read more

The girl working the drive thru doesn't care about what the customer orders, I had to repeat my order 3 times because she wasn't paying attention, I then get to the window and she still had my order wrong I asked for 5 bagels and she only keyed in 3 after confirming with me that she would separate 3 from the 5 as 2 were a little more simple. If she can't pay attention get her away from that damn window. I'm sure she can mop the floor or clean the parking lot with screwing that up read more

I stop in here on the rare occasions when I want a bagel. I love New York Bagels took, but we are not in New York, we are in Dallas. A bagel is a bagel. I like the cranberry or the wheat with the strawberry cream cheese. I know they call it schmear or something, but I don't like that name for a food. YAY for Einstein Bros Bagels! This one is on Beltline, near Marsh in Addison. In the same building as the new 24-hour Schlotzsky's (where Blockbuster used to be). I've been a bagel fan for a long time, but have had pretty crappy experiences at the other fairly new location at Hebron and Midway... it had been awhile since I'd had my bagel fix. Boyfriend and I were headed to the downtown area one morning, so I swung by here for some quick breakfast to eat in the car. Went through the Drive Thru and service was pretty quick (car in front of me took awhile, but they could've had a big or very complicated order), VERY friendly, and food was tasty. They put a tad too much butter on my bagels, but not as much as other locations have (I always ask for my bagels to be toasted with easy/light butter). I stopped by here today to get some bagels to freeze, and I decided to go inside. First of all, it was about 3.45 on a Tuesday... and they had TONS of bagels left. They close at 5pm. Whereas the location up in Plano on Hebron/Midway had 9 empty bagel baskets at noon, this place had every kind of bagel available. YAY! Also, while the other location was out of freezer bags, this one wasn't. She gave me two of them with my baker's dozen of bagels for easy storage. I honestly wasn't expecting them to have so many bagels available, so I had a hard time deciding what to get. I wound up getting a dozen, so I could get every kind of bagel I wanted instead of compromising. They offered to slice my bagels, asked if I wanted cream cheese too (I didn't), and were happy to bag my two "Everything" bagels separately. I've learned that if you don't put the savory bagels away from the sweet bagels.... well.. bad things happen. I still can't eat cinnamon raisin bagels after it apparently had an encounter with an onion bagel. Anyway, the two girls working were really nice, the place looks neat inside, seems to be set up well, has a small-ish but functional cafe area, and... the clincher.. they have Dr Pepper! Most other Einstein locations I've been to have Pibb. Evil, evil Pibb. Since they no longer carry the Nantucket Nectar juices, I'll be getting a delicious Dr Pepper with my bagels if I swing through in the morning. This will be my go-to Einstein Bros location! Near the house, lots of selection, efficient drive thru, nice employees, Dr Pepper... did I mention lots of bagel selection, even an hour before close? And the Dr Pepper? I'm from New York so I know good bagels. These are not terrible bagels but I wouldn't go out of my way to get them. They serve their purpose when a craving strikes. I take what I can get in Dallas. FYI: this applies to this location only: The customer service here is nonexistent. If you have to be anywhere like work, school, a dr appointment, or just life in general you can forget it. They take forever!!! I usually get a plain, poppy or sesame bagel NOT toasted with cream cheese. This seems to throw them way off. They don't seem to understand why someone wouldn't want their bagel toasted. It's one less step so you think this would speed up the process. ....Surprise! Nope, they toast that sucker every time! I have no idea what's up with this particular location. This is the closest Einstein's on our way to work. When they first opened everything just pretty smoothly. Our bagels were properly cut, prepared and the service was fast. I don't like giving bad reviews but after the 5th time of patiently waiting 20-30 mins for our orders, it's time to voice my opinion. Every morning that we've gone to this location they aren't busy at all. There's one person doing all the food prep work and one cashier working. They are both doing multiple jobs and not completely each order as they come up. They are completely slow. Don't even bother going inside, you'll just be waiting forever for your breakfast. They should just change the name of this location because they are giving Einstein Bro's bagels a bad name. read more

As a chain I love Einsteins. My work has it delivered from the Berkshire location every Friday so I consider myself a connoisseur of their bagels. But unfortunately this location has no idea how to make bagels. We order plain bagels and the ones we get look like they have been smashed in between the cook's palms. One half isn't toasted and the other half is burnt black. Mine also has tons of onion on it (yuck!). I don't eat my bagel - not worth the calories to eat a bad bagel. The guy offers to get us wheat bagels because I guess all the plain bagels are messed up (not sure why they served them then). He brings 4 wheat bagels in a to go bag, not toasted, and rushes us out. So we are forced to eat in the car. The wheat bagels are just as flat and weird tasting as the plain ones. Overall waste of my time, money, and calories. I won't be back here until they figure out how to make bagels. read more

On my way to work I stopped at this particular location because it has a drive thru. When I arrived I was told through the speaker when I was ready to order to move forward to the window to place my order. There were 3 other cars in front of me so I decided to just order through the app to expedite my order. When I got to the window I told the girl that I had just placed an order through the app and she directed me to move to the front of the building. I waited 15 minutes and then saw the girl from the window come outside not to give me my order, but to take a smoke break. Once she went back in I decided to get out and see what the hold up was. I approached the same girl and said I'm still waiting on my order and all she said was that they had not received my order, although I could clearly see it behind her. I pulled my order confirmation on my phone and then all she said was "Oh I forgot to get your name at the window," and proceeded to give me the food that was now cold and had sat for over 10 minutes. Not only did she forget my to get me name, she also forgot about me altogether. She also didn't bother ask if I wanted fresh food. I love Einstein's Bagels but this completely ruined my experience there, ruined my morning and made me late to work having to wait over 20 minutes for a couple of bagels and drinks. They don't know how to effectively use their drive thru window so I wouldn't bother using it and if they ask you to pull up without your food I would just refuse or you may be waiting for too long. read more

Terrible customer service at the Addison location. I was there on 3 separate occasions in one week and as others have said, equipment not working, out of supplies, unfriendly workers. I went in to place an order for Valentine heart-shaped bagels and came back 2 days later (2/14) to pick up my order. They didn't have it, they sold my bagels and then asked if I could wait another 10 minutes for fresh ones to come out. They totally ruined my day as I had nothing to bring to the people I was giving them to. I have contacted the parent company 3 times and no action taken! Terrible company!! read more

They use very little cream cheese on the bagels that it just appears to be a hurried afterthought. Their bagel sandwiches are good, but they frequently run out of the bagels I like. Why not make more of the popular ones you consistently run out of? Find a different place for your morning bagel. Update: 4/21/17 - This was my last trip here. The staff don't care. Got a burned bagel (with minimal schmear again) and when I complained about the burned bagel where you could clearly see the entire top of it was blackened, the staff guy rolled his eyes at me let loose a long dramatic sigh and acted so put upon to fix what they screwed up. I usually like einstein's, but this location is a hot mess. I ordered a bagel and 2 coffees, (no one else being in line). When I paid, they charged me for a different order (presumably from the drive through order line). Not only this, but the container labeled half&half had skim milk in it and vice versa. Are you kidding me??? You can absolutely tell by the thickness. How hard is it to get 1 bagel and 2 coffees with the appropriate accoutrements? Apparently very hard. read more

Another customer comes in, they take his order and then tell us we were standing in the wrong area to place an order. You couldn't have said something ten minutes ago?! Place is great for a quick breakfast or lunch, but if you're expected to be treated with a smile and a small ounce of compassion, go someone else.... I went into the store at 12:15 p.m. today. There was a team member filling up the beverage station. After I glanced at the menu and decided what to order I politely asked her if she could take my order. She looked at me with disgust, like I was asking her to do something so outrageous. She just had a horrible attitude toward me and towards her job. I understand that people have bad days, but if you don't like working with people or serving customers, you don't have to be in a job that is customer service oriented. Rant over. read more

This location needs to train their staff better. On catering orders, I've had bagels missing, I've had cream cheese's missing. If it's during morning hours, this place is super slow. I place large orders online, hoping they are ready when I arrive. Nope, still have to wait, as I'm being ignored as the staff gives 95% of their attention to the drive thru. Now, on a simple order of one single bagel with cream cheese, they can't even get that right. All I wanted was a single bagel, TOASTED, with cream cheese... I was in a rush and had to do breakfast on the road. I get out of the parking lot and start eating my bagel... COLD. Not toasted, barely at room temperature. The gentleman that helped us (I didn't get his name but he has tribal tattoos on his arms) was extremely nice and knowledgeable. As soon as I'm standing in the lobby the manager is completely upset that they're so many people walking in and standing around. The manager was completely rude and the entire staff is disorganized. I hate to write bad reviews but the franchisee of this location needs to know the poor quality of service. It's great to have a name recognition of Einstein's Bagels but poor service is poor service. Spend more on your labor cost and hire two/three more people during your peak hours. 12+ minutes to turn around an order of two bagels is just pathetic let alone wrong smear on one of the bagels. Your margins are more than great not to spend your money on training and adequate number of staff. read more

I've also had to wait 15-20 mins to just get to the window due to the slow response time on each order ahead of me. Food was ok, but service was very bad. They were out of all croissants for breakfast sandwiches so needed to order bagels. Not a huge deal, just disappointed. Order is up and it's our name, but wrong food. Again, not a huge deal, just annoying. Then we wait for 20 minutes asking about our order to find they lost it. The remake and bring it out a few minutes later. No apologies, no concern for the delay. Food still wasn't correct but we gave up. I would probably avoid this location. Truly the worst Einstein Bros Bagels! They are always out of everything, the drive thru takes about 20 minutes with only 3 cars in front of you. The craftsmanship of the bagel sandwich is sloppy. Placed a future order online. Got my email confirmation. The store accepted my order. Delivery Day: I have 33 folks waiting for coffee, juice and pastries. I try calling the store to find out the status because they are already late. No answer. I call catering. The store forgot about my order, so they did not bake any of the pastries. I am not offered a resolution, I have to request what I need to happen. So guessing the Addison store can't handle it and my order is moved to another store - further away. Estimating it will arrive 2+ hours late. Very disappointed!! Their failure looks like I failed to do my part. read more
