I order from this Zio Al's location at least once every couple of weeks via a third party delivery app because I live outside of all Zio Al's locations' delivery zones, and two thirds of the time my orders are accurate when they arrive. It's really hard to mess up two New York style crust pepperoni pizza except when they DO mess it up, which is about a third of the time. I'm starting to believe that the people in their kitchen either can't read or refuse to read their order printouts, which are perfectly clear and in my experience perfectly legible. If you love pizza, as we do in my family, CRUST MATTERS. Hand tossed and New York style from Zio Al's is NOT interchangeable. Their New York style pizza and crust style are PERFECT. "What's a little extra crust with the hand tossed?" you ask. "No big deal on the mixup, really," you might say. But IT IS! When you literally order the same thing more than twice a month and they screw it up a third of the time, that is a problem. It isn't complicated. READ the order printout. I placed an Uber Eats order at 8:28 PM on Thanksgiving, fully expecting delays due to the holiday. What I didn't expect was a cascade of preventable issues and a complete lack of accountability from the restaurant. First, I was told my order was released to the wrong driver--or "stolen," depending on who I spoke with. Then, while the restaurant was supposedly remaking the order, there was miscommunication with the second driver, who ultimately left. These delivery complications were frustrating but not entirely the restaurant's fault. What was within their control, however, was how they chose to handle the situation once I reached out. I offered to come pick up the food myself and simply asked that they honor the same price I had already paid through Uber including the promotion. They refused. The tone of the conversation was dismissive at best, and there was zero acknowledgment of the hour-and-a-half delay or the inconvenience caused. It is now 10 PM on Thanksgiving night, and I still have no food--not even an apology. If you're considering ordering from this location, I strongly advise against using Uber Eats or any delivery platform, and based on this level of customer service, I would be cautious about ordering at all. When we were brought our check our waiter intentionally shows us the itemized receipt list & intentionally doesn't scroll all the way down (we DID NOT see added gratuity and WERE NOT WARNED in any shape or form before payment.) I pull out my card to pay and he hands me the pos machine & asks for a tip first. I didn't notice until this morning. I called them to dispute the charge & they very rudely let me know that they will not refund my entire charge and only the tip I left. Either items will be missing, special instructions for pizza are not followed, or items will be over-cooked. Their specialty pizzas are flavorful, such as their gyro pizza, and their buffalo chicken pizza. Highly recommend making any of their pizzas deep dish. The atmosphere is friendly with ample seating and they're open late. Their wings used to be all the rave, however over the past two years they are inconsistent on spice and size. Let me begin by stating, I did not try the pizza. In all honesty, it looked pretty good. But I was in the mood for pasta. Unless you like pizza, eat somewhere else. This place is crowded. The draw is the hookah room. The staff greet all of their regulars with warmth and attentive care. I am not a regular. I was sat inside, which is fairly small. The hookah room is behind a glass wall. Now the bad parts. I asked for the best item on the menu. I eat anything. Besides the pizza. I'm sure it's great. I'm in the mood for an Italian meal, piccata, Marsala, egg plant parmigiana, or stuffed shells I suggested. I should have said "yeah, pizza sounds good." My server's favorite? Chicken fettuccine Alfredo. "Perfect. And a coke. Oh, do you have friend cheese sticks?" Well, everything is bought premade, thrown in the oven, and served in a pizza box with a plastic fork. Napkins are apparently "by request only". The marinara packet was ice cold. They didn't throw it in the oven with the cheese sticks. The frozen dinner, err, chicken fettuccine was horrible. It looks so much better than it was. I felt guilty leaving a bad tip even though the service matched the pizza box, but I mustered $4.73 on $23.27 or something like that for an exact total of $28 for a frozen dinner, frozen app, a plastic fork, two napkins upon request, and a coke.
