I've been eating at Einstein's at least three times a week for years. By far this one has the worst customer service. Amazed how bad!

Um... after waiting 15-20 minutes in the drive thru line for a bagel (only 3 cars ahead of me), I drove off and looked into the bag to find a smashed bagel top, with a half bottom that looked like it had been chewed on and a bit burned. The little cream cheese that was on it was smeared all over the bag. My daughter wouldn't even eat it. Seriously? Unacceptable. I would have gone back, but it wasn't worth the hassle of the wait. I have gotten a lox and bagel from here every few weeks since they first opened, but this will be the last time. They made it perfectly, exactly as I asked, with extra lox. When I brought the sandwich up to my mouth I could smell something funny. Since I quit smoking many years ago, it took me a few more bites to realize I was smelling and tasting tar and nicotine with every bite! I still smell and taste it! I LOVE bagels and this place does have some good ones, but the staff is incompetent. I've had to return bags back through the window. They almost every single time screw up my order. I thought this last order was right! But instead of onion bagels 1/2 dozen they gave me Garlic! At least they sliced them like I asked. (Rarely happens) I hope that with time the staff will just get better... My advice, check your order before you leave the window! The coffee is terrible and they don't know how to make it. If you want it toasted they have the toaster set so low that it's cold when you get it. Enjoy! read more

Absolutely the worst experience. The slowest service ever. Waiting 20 to 30 min. in the drive-thru every time, no matter the time of day. If you're in a hurry, don't bother. They get the order wrong every time! Burnt bagels, peanut butter instead of butter, next to nothing cream cheese. Drink orders either shorted or missing, then additional waiting time. Horrible customer service. When you ask to speak with a manager, you're told to call back, put on hold, or hung up on. This location needs a serious overhaul. Coffee and Bagels has been going downhill, used go to this location multiple times a week, dark roast is tastes like a cigar, no decaf after 12, no decaf espresso, the best cheese ever-pepperjack is no longer available. Been going to this location since they opened, service has consistently gone downhill. Same song and dance as other reviews, placing the most simple order is a struggle. Took 20 min to get a 6 pack of bagels and tub of schmear with only 2 cars in the drive thru. Sometimes they are closed with no explanation or the drive thru is blocked. I remember when I was younger that I would go to this Einstein's to order a bacon egg and cheese bagel before I would go skiing in the morning with an orange juice. Now when I go there, there is always something wrong with the bagel. They either some other weird bagel type on the dish then just a simple plain bagel. Setimes they put to much pepper on it, they are missing an ingredient, or it comes out as just one bagel and nothing else. This is actually horrendous . I have been going here since they opened and today was finally my last. I try and try thinking that it will get better but it doesn't. I order is wrong EVERY SINGLE TIME. As someone with an allergy, it is CRUCIAL that my order is right. So bummed that both things I ordered were incorrect. It is way too expensive to be getting messed up that frequently. This location has the worst service of any store in Castle Rock. I walked in the store as the drive-thru line was full. I saw two people at the counter so I felt okay on getting in and out relatively fast. However the two guys in front of me were already frustrated as the older gentleman behind the register was struggling. How in the world the owner would think this is the right guy for a speedy transactions is beyond comprehension; nice guy but the wrong position. I decided that my ten minutes of waiting in line was going to get me nothing but an over priced, lacking cream cheese bagel and so I left to get my kids to school. Took over 20 min to get to the window of the drive through even though there was only 1 car ahead of us. Once there our order was wrong and we were being over charged. Too many great places to get bagels to justify waiting in a long line for "average" bagels. Sorry Einstein of Castle Rock, but we will not be back. A rough day at Einstein's. After we ordered they called us up to reform us that they ran out of every bagel we had ordered. Every egg sandwich we ordered had something wrong with it. Our sausage egg and cheese sandwich had no cheese. We asked for no cheese on our asparagus sandwiches and they came with cheese. Another egg sandwich had raw egg. I went there twice the first week they opened and had a really nice, friendly experience. The kids were all clearly doing their best and made me feel welcome. We just got bagels, and they were tasty. So glad to have a bagel place in Castle Rock (one gets tired of the ubiquitous breakfast burritos elsewhere). I would probably continue to get my specialty coffee drinks at Lost Coffee next door or Crowfoot Coffee in downtown Castle Rock. So glad to have the whole area get some stores and services. I gotta be brutally honest about this place. I do a bagel run for the wife and kids here almost every day because it's my only bagel/coffee option near me. The staff is friendly but almost none of them seem to know what they're doing. But sort of in a cute funny way. It's because most of the morning staff are seniors.....which is cool with me......except they all seem to be confounded by the cash register system and how to say "macchiato" and you WILL have to repeat your order 7-8 times. But hey. They're old and they're serving impatient yuppie suburban tailgating assholes all morning....so I give em a break. Fair warning: you will stand there for a few awkward minutes while they figure your order out and all angry eyes are on the back of your head. Saturday at noon, you expect it to be busy. The place was empty with a bunch of newbies working behind the counter, screwing around. My mom and I order, she gets a sandwich and I order a bagel. I notice while we're ordering, the guy behind us gets impatient and leaves. After 15 minutes, there's a few more people that come in. More leave because of how long it takes to order. 25 minutes later we receive the sandwich we ordered, with onions (we asked when we ordered for no onions) and there's about a teaspoon of chicken on the sandwich. There's also no bagel. If there's no customers, but there's 5+ employees behind the counter, there's no reason this couldn't be finished in an appropriate amount of time. I understand being new and learning your job. I probably would've understood if the employees wore signs that said, we're just here for the money. I was so excited when this store came to town. I went through the drive-through in the pouring rain and A young man apparently thought it would be funny to mess with me -- when I ordered an everything bagel toasted with jalapeño cream cheese, He said "just plain cream cheese?", and I said jalapeño, he said "banana?", I said no "jalapeño", he said "we don't have banana cream cheese", and I said "please stop messing with me and just give me plain cream cheese". Then he said "do you want cream cheese" and I said "yes" I want cream cheese he goes "why don't you want cream cheese?" I pulled up to the window and beeped my horn. Another young kid came to the window and I asked for the corporate number it took a while and then I sat there when I was calling another Einstein bagel to get the corporate number. That's when Mr. smarty-pants came to the window and ask if I was ordering anything. He has a very distinct voice so I asked him for his name and he said "why do you need to know my name? " And I said because I'm asking you and he said "no, and if you're not ordering please move along". Can you believe there's no manager at the store watching these kids. I can imagine what they must be doing to the food you order if they are brazen enough to act like this over the intercom. read more

The Einstein Bagels store in Castle Rock is a delight. It's light and airy with inviting seating areas and even a place with plug-ins to park & work on the computer. The manager and the rest of the staff are friendly and cheery. What a breath of fresh air, and guess what? They offer a variety of breakfast and lunch items--great food, as well! read more

I gave them one star because i can't give them anything lower. Bagels have always been great. The people working here have no idea what they are doing. It gets worse and worse very single time we come here. This is the first time back since reopening with the coffee shop. Thinking they might have fixed things, we tried again. It was worse than before. It has never been quick either. It takes anywhere up to 30 minutes to get two bagels. They need to either train their employees better or hire people who are capable of doing simple tasks. read more

I went to this Einsteins this morning at 9:22 AM. I was excited that we've got one in Castle Rock. Worst experience ever. When I arrived I had to wait several minutes for the cashier to finish a personal conversation with a high school girlfriend before she took my order. A frustrated looking customer stood in the corner. When my bagel was finally ready it was made with asparagus instead of spinach. There were six people (kids) behind the counter and no adult supervision. The cashier was making faces and rolling her eyes to her gf at a table as though she was bored to be at work. The five young men behind the counter couldn't get an order straight or out for that matter. However, they managed to flirt with the high school girls seated at various tables and speak over the counter across the room to them. One of the young guys behind the counter on the food line did not have plastic gloves on and huffed and puffed into his hands to warm them. Disgusting! As I sat and observed the mayhem I was sorry I decided to eat my bagel there although it was mistakenly packed to go. No employee there was paying attention. It felt like a high school lunch room. Finally the frustrated man received his order and left. As I observed the chaos I watched a rushed mother arrive and order. She waited and waited and I could see her frustration growing. Finally amazed with the disorder I had witnessed for ten minutes, I walked to the counter and asked where the manager was and informed the five young men there that the woman had been waiting for her order for quite a long time. They proceeded to give her the four muffins she ordered but didn't warm them as she had requested in her order. She received a bag, proceeded to tell them them with anger it was wrong and stomped out as she thanked me. What a joke! As it turned out two of the mindless young boys were managers and one of them is who made my bagel not knowing the difference between asparagus and spinach. PS: when he handed me the spinach ( I picked the asparagus off not wanting to wait again) he called it dry spinach but what he meant was "fresh" instead of "wet" meaning canned. Really bad service, a shame to observe, would not recommend it and the lowest level of professionalism I have EVER seen in an Einstein's. read more

I have visited this Einsteins 4 times and have had to return my order twice. The bagels are under cooked and the cinnamon clusters have been doughy. When I ask for a schmeer they put just a dab of cream cheese. Coffee used to be good but not anymore. Threw away my free coffee card long ago and go to Panera for a properly backed bagel and the best breads ever. Coffee at Panera is better also at least fresher. read more

This is the worst Einsteins I've ever been too. Since the merger with Caribou Coffee this location has gone significantly down hill. We've given it several attempts and every visit wonder why we bothered again. Cold room temp coffee (I'm sure was from the day before), clueless employees standing around, no bagels since the baker no showed, burnt bagels, 35 minute wait for two bagels toast with smear - I could go on. Contacted corporate three times with no reply. Sad - there's really no other bagel place in Castle Rock so we will just buy ourselves a sleeve of Thomas Bagels and Philly Cream Cheese and save some money and wasted time. read more

They are also consistently so chintzy with the schmear, it's ridiculous. This Einstein is hit or miss when it comes to getting orders correct, via the drive thru. But really, more miss than hit. Sometimes (albeit rarely) I get exactly what I ordered, most times it is WRONG. How hard is it to make a freaking bagel?????????? I keep coming back due to convenience and hoping that it will finally be a 'hit'. To the MANAGERS/OWNER: YOU NEED SOME QUALITY ASSURANCE - because your employees are not doing well and your output is less than 'ok'. TODAY (4/16/15), I ordered 2 cin/sugar toasted w/ butter. I got 2 plain, barely toasted, tons of butter and the tops were together and the bottoms were together. How does that happen??? THIS is why fast food workers should NOT get $15/hr! read more

Saturday morning staff really has a hard time with getting orders out in time and was not prepared for rush. Usually this is managements fault. There were 10 cars deep in the drive through and it took 15 minutes for drive through and 10 minutrs for food. this is a common problem on weekend mornings. read more
