Power Protein! Healthy options maybe

Sometimes they get the order right, and sometimes they don't. They will give you free bagels, though. Everything here is just so fast, even there's a line!

Plain bagel with shmear, may want to get it double toaated, regular toasted is just soft and chewy

So I finally tried the food here, although I had to order via Door Dash to manage it. One of the main reasons I wanted to try this place was several people told me they had good egg bagels, which are very hard to find in the south. I was disappointed that it wasn't available, at least not on the delivery app and not on that particular Thursday. I suppose it's possible they only carry on the weekends, only offer in person or perhaps pared down their menu due to COVID19. I ordered a plain bagel with cream cheese and a turkey bacon avocado sandwich to get me through a particularly long work day. The food was okay, but the portions didn't match the price so I wasn't much more impressed than my previous attempts to come here in the past. As far as bagels go, I think they do a good job. The bagel was a good size, had the right texture and they put the appropriate amount of shmear on it. So many places will just drown your bagel in shmear to make you think you are somehow getting more food, which is a pet peeve of mine, so I'm glad they don't make that mistake. The only feedback I have on the bagels is the toasting. It is not a crisp toast but instead the same soft chewy toast you get when a burger bun gets put through a buttered bread warmer at a restaurant- visibly browned but not actually toasty. They have a decent variety of sandwiches offered. I ordered the turkey bacon avocado as it comes, which is on a potato bun with lettuce, tomato and a garden shmear. The size was tiny for over $9, I found that shocking and I don't have a very big appetite around lunch time. The potato bun had everything piled high, both toppings and the rise of the bun. It was a huge mess!!! Everything was sliding around trying to balance on a small surface and I found the resulting pile of food aggravating. I strongly recommend subbing out a bagel for the normal potato bun, that will give you a more even surface area for spreading everything out and will hopefully come out the size of a normal and more functional sandwich. The flavors were great, but the portion and mess would definitely have me make this sort of adjustment if I ever ordered it again. Now that I've finally tried this location, I just think it's okay and a little overpriced. I'm not exactly opposed to trying them again but will most likely put my efforts into trying local places over this chain. Being able to order delivery is convenient though!

Awesomeness...minus one bite. Yummy!

The place is loud but that's because everyone is talking at their table. Our server Trayvon was super nice and very helpful. He gave some good recommendations since this was our 1st time. We ordered a couple of cocktails. I ordered a strawberry lemon drop and hubby had a Bee's Knee. It had Gin honey and lemon. Hubby got the traditional breakfast-chicken apple sausage, sourdough toast and hash browns and scrambled eggs with cheese. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with the gravy on the side. I rather dip the chicken in the gravy verse having it poured on top. My chicken fried chicken came with grits and sourdough toast. The chicken was so good and flavorful. I loved the grits. I also got a side of chicken apple sausage and when I tell you it was so good. It had just right amount of sweetness. This is a place to bring family and friends from out of town. We will be back.

While we were there, I observed employees loading whole oranges into the fresh orange juice machine. Several oranges fell onto the floor, and I watched the employees pick the oranges up and place them back into the hopper to be juiced. I asked to speak with the owner but was told the owner was not there. A man who identified himself as the general manager came out. I explained what I had observed. The only question he asked was, "Do you know how many oranges fell onto the floor?" I replied that the number wasn't the issue. My concern was that oranges that had contacted the floor were being put back into the juicer. I did not feel my concern was taken seriously, and I requested the owner's contact information. I did not receive it. Because I believe this is a serious food safety concern, I reported this to the Highland Village Code Enforcement Division for investigation. We were excited to celebrate a special occasion here, but instead we left concerned about the restaurant's food handling practices and the response from management. Based on what I personally witnessed, I cannot recommend this restaurant.

As you can see from posted pics here on Yelp the restaurant is classy with a brasserie ambiance and vibe. We elected to be seated in one of the very comfortable booths across from the attractive bar with its red, upholstered swivel stools. My wife opted for a glass of Pinot Grigio and I a Sazerac. The Sazarac was OK, but overpowered in this pour by the bitters (and I'm one who loves both Angostura and Peychaud bitters. I drink them both straight whenever I have a slightly queasy stomach and enjoy them straight). For starters we shared a bowl of French onion soup which on this chilly early winter morning was a comforting and savory start to our brunch meal. My wife went with the eggs Benedict and I decided to try the Oeufs en Cocotte, a dish I encountered here for the first time ever. The eggs Benedict, my wife reports, was excellent. Perfectly poached eggs, large slices of a tender and flavorful ham over a croissant-like puff pastry that had been split and grilled to perfection in butter on the flat top, topped with a nicely done Hollandaise sauce. Happily for me, she left a half of the butter grilled pastry. It was divine. Likewise the Oeufs en Cocotte, eggs poached in a shallot cream sauce, was heavenly. Cannot wait to enjoy this again! Perfectly cooked eggs in a flavorful, steaming hot, shallot and cream sauce. So good. Our server was perfectly attentive and very helpful, answering clearly our questions about the preparations of the dishes. So looking forward to our next visit.

Menus seem to change frequently, which is a good thing. My dad had the eggs in cream... when he gets quiet and doesn't say anything about his food, it means it's really good and he doesn't want to share it... when I stuck my knife in it and tasted it, that was confirmed, it was deliciously creamy and garlicy. I had the souffle the first time and the French Dip the second time. My mom had a smoked salmon salad and really enjoyed that. Go for brunch, go for lunch, go for dinner. Yummy!

After she served my Dos Equis, she got me a decanter of water. I ordered the Lomo Adobado and glad not to have gotten chips and salsa. It was a tremendous amount of food. I do not recall the last time I received both rice and tortillas, so I was not too disappointed being provided only two tortillas. The additional salsa was not spicy and not necessarily as the marination on the pork was sufficient. The asparagus were a pleasant surprise since it was not mentioned in the menu. My oh my this place is something else…read more.. My husband had a work conference here at the Gaylord Resort and Convention Center so we packed our bags and my toddler and I came too. I was looking into pictures of this place and was so confused as to what was the resort and what wasn't. There's no way all these pictures that look like different places can be all in one place... well my friends... it is. As we pulled up, I realized just how big this place is and I got really excited to go inside and finally figure out what's what. This place is gorgeous. Part of it looks like a lodge, part of it looks like a mall, part of it looks like a convention center... because it is, part of it looks like a hotel, part of it looks like the riverwalk, etc... and yet it all blends together seamlessly. There are 4 main restaurants, at least 2 bars, two coffee shops, one is also a marketplace, shops that sells clothes, a kids store, an arcade, a spa, a gym, a FedEx business center, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool, another restaurant down the street that is also part of the resort, a water park down the street that is part of the resort... I'm FOR SURE forgetting something... or multiple somethings. There's no way to do it all in a week while also attending a conference. So we didn't hit up everything. It's okay though, my toddler mostly wanted to just walk around. Nonstop. There's plenty to see by doing that. There's a scavenger hunt that you can do, a virtual animal safari, model trains that we stopped to watch multiple times, a mini Build-A-Bear Workshop right in the middle of things... I'm telling you, this place has it all. We arrived on a Monday, left on a Friday, and didn't have enough time to do and see everything. We ate at 3 of the 4 main restaurants. We tried to eat at the Riverwalk Cantina - and I was admittedly most excited about that one. However, the first two nights they were having a buffet. We wanted to order from the menu. We said we'd come back. The third night my husband had a business meeting at the steakhouse so that was a no go. The fourth night we went down there to eat... they were closed. Getting ready for a private event. *sad face* We left the next day and never got the chance to try it out. Things are a bit pricey, but you pay a convenience fee, and the fact that they literally had everything we needed in one place without leaving the resort was just that... convenient. So I wasn't complaining, especially with a two-year-old in tow. Even the option to have food delivered to your room was great since I could order breakfast to be delivered before my kiddo woke up for the day. The room was nice. It was pretty modern and spacious. We were on the first floor so it was also convenient. We didn't have a fancy view. It was a side parking lot, but the fact that it was part of a block of rooms reserved for the conference meant that we weren't expecting a room with a view or anything. I slept comfortably, but brought my own pillow which I believe was a big part of my comfort. My husband said the typical hotel bed was too hard. It wasn't as enjoyable of a sleeping situation for him. I could've stayed longer and been just fine lol. Anyways, I know this review is very long and I'll cut it off here, but I will say that there are so many more things I could say, but you just have to experience this place for yourself. I will review the restaurants we tried separately. Texan Station Sports Bar & Grill Zeppole Old Hickory Steakhouse
