Walked into this location on Sunday thinking ....great bagels and great customer service. SOOOO WRONG! The employee JESSICA was not friendly nor helpful. She had an attitude from the " may I take your order" we should have walked out then gets better order is done she tosses on the counter and says here it is. Not returning to this location. My first time at Einstein Bros Bagels was during an outing to go apartment hunting. This definitely started my day on the right track. I ordered the apple coffee cake and it was one of the best coffee cakes I've had in a while. The service was incredible and the staff were super friendly. Delicious New York Style bagels. Their bagels are fresh and chewy on the outside and fresh on the inside, unlike the ones over at Panera which basically taste like bread in a circular form. The star of this place is the lip-smacking, finger-licking shmears (a.k.a cream cheese). Their salmon flavor one is delicious and only 60 calories per 2 tablespoon. The cream cheese variety over at Panera pales in comparison and HIGHER in calories too. Their "reduced fat" ones clock in at a good 70 to 80 calories per 2 tablespoon. You call that "reduced fat" ? The spreads at Noah's are lower in calories and MUCH more tastier. The texture is whipped, fluffy, creamy and easily spreadable. Can't wait to try out their other tantalizing shmears. Good selection of freshly brewed coffee for your picking and very good unsweetened iced teas for the hot summer days. The iced green tea was exceptionally refreshing. My Hong Kong wife never had a bagel before. I woke up this morning reminiscing that great taste of a bagel sandwhich. So I was out the door on a mission. My wife, on the other hand, has never been fond of American "dry" food. She has had a sore throat since coming to LA a week ago. So the thought of eating a dry sandwhich didn't please her. First thing I knew what I wanted was a cinnamon raisin toasted bagel. I ordered two, one toasted with cream cheese, and the other the sandwhich with egg, bacon and cheese. My wife ordered the strawberry chicken salad and broccoli cheese soup. I shared with her my cinnamon sandwhich and boy did she enjoy it! She nearly took my entire portion if it weren't for my tiger claws gripping onto it. It is to die for and so delicious! Flavour is perfect and the bagel runs so smooth in your mouth you want and endless amount of bites. The soup was not too great. A wee bit too salty but the salad was perfect with the chicken cooked perfectly. A little bit pricey for a bagel sandwhich but worth it. read more

I've been here in the past and keep coming back because of the coffee and the bagels. But after the last visit, I might come back for the customer service, too. Suri (who served me) was so nice and patient. I always take forever to decide what I want and she actually waits patiently not trying to rush me. Bagels are okay, but service is not great. In line at 8:15am, three people behind me and there is only one person servicing guests ...while there was 6 workers behind the counter hugging and laughing. Great bagels. But they can be slow at times. They've got my orders wrong too often, but since the bagels are good, I keep on going back. It gets a bit too crowded on the weekends. Here is what I love about this place. The bagels are very very good. Always fresh and toasted perfect. A lot of variety for a bagel place. A wide variety of breakfast and lunch combos available. Always always always order the chicken salad on toasted sesame bagel!! Side of potato salad and you got a complete meal. The downshide....service can be rather slow depending how busy. I don't get the whole, you order at one station and the same girl walks down the counter to the other end to complete your order on a different register??? Seems odd. OH...and the parking lot is way too small for the strip mall activity in there. You either wind up driving around alot waitin for someone to leave, or you wind up walking a great distance. Overall I'd probably give a 3.5, but I do like the items I've tried so the food gets a four. It's way too expensive at regular price, but when they mail me coupons, it becomes a good deal. In particular, I like the cinnamon raisin bagel sandwich from the breakfast menu, and the chicken bagel sandwiches from the lunch menu. The bagels are nice and toasty on the outside (and that toasty part is nice and thin... not like some rhino armor bagels that I encounter sometimes); and the inside is warm and soft. One major deterrent is the parking. This shares a lot with Whole Foods, and it's always difficult to find a spot. I'm also not a fan of the layout inside. You order at the front, then pass a crowd of people waiting for their food in the middle, and then go to the end to pay, before crowding back into the middle to wait for your food. Later when we managed to get a table, it was by this middle area, and somebody's butt almost knocked my food off the table as they shimmied by. read more

I can't get enough of their toasted whole wheat bagel with sun dried tomato cream cheese schmear. Yumz! And if you can fit in a sweet treat please try their chocolate chip and banana cookie. I can only name one other store that sells delicious cookies and unfortunately they are hundreds of miles away. The cookie is soft and light. Not dense like many others They've added oats which gives it a nice textural note and the bitter sweet chocolate compliments the 'nanas nicely. read more

The one thing i like about noah's is that they aren't shy on the spread which is a big plus. Who likes a bagel with a little big of spread? I sure don't. Also if your a really big fan of spread you can always order more. The last time i went to Noah's bagel, i ordered an orginal bagel with jalapeno and salmon schmear. Yum....... Coffee is always good here. Their bagels are soft and yummy, variety of good smears. I like their sandwiches too. LOVE THE LOX here, nice balance between capers and smear. The staff does its best to deal with the onslaught of cranky "the world revolves around me" Pasadena folk, who seem to always be late for something and want to blame the world for it instead themselves. The staff really are nice here, but it's not unusual to have to wait for someone to finish changing their minds for the third time or just blaming the staff for being human. So many knuckle heads. They do move the line fast and do their best to accommodate their customers. I like this location MUCH better than the Lake one, where I found a roach in the coffee. I went here to grab a cup of coffee and some sun dried tomato spread. The line was long but it went fast because they were fast, efficient, and friendly. I was sad they didn't have autumn roast so I got the vanilla hazelnut. The flavor was good but it was a little watered-down unlike the other times I've had it. My sun dried tomato spread was a little strong in flavor so instead of spreading it on bagels, I've been using it to mix with prego and it is an awesome base for a creamy pasta sauce. Overall, I prefer coming to this location, I feel like the employees at the Lake Ave. one are less friendly. read more

I tried the Nova Lox bagels as part of a promotion and they ran out of onion bagels in the middle of the day! How dissapointing... I've tried this location a few times and also the one on Lake/Colorado and find the Lake location much more personable and ready to meet the needs of the customer. I feel like an assemly line part when I go to the Foothill site. Maybe it's because a long counter space requires customers to form visually longer lines. Anyway, the bagels were okay, but at $8.00 each, I think the value is reduced compared to other bagel locations. Even the coupons don't really help. read more

They make one ass-spanking good bagel. I mean, how much effort should it require to produce a near perfect on-the-go breakfast food? It doesn't seem like it would be much, but Noah's always comes through for me with their toasted bagels (VARIETY VARIETY VARIETY) and tasty spreads. Lox smear on a toasted Asiago cheese bagel. Lip smacking goodness. Haven't tried any of their sandwich bagels yet, but they look pretty great, albeit a bit small --- to me, they're priced a little high for the amount of food given. Not having any Noah's Bagels within 5 miles of where I live is a drag though. The closest place I got is Goldsteins Bagels, which pales in comparison. read more

Okay, now THIS is the real deal here! I've never been a fan of bagels before because I've never had a bagel THIS SOFT and FRESH! This is 101 times better than the bagels you get at like a grocery store. Even if you leave them over night, as long as you keep the mouth of the paper bag closed, the bagels will stay soft. It's like bagel heaven because there's so much you can choose from instead of just original or blueberry. The most distinctive thing about Noah's is not just their delicious bagels, but also their mouth watering shmears a.k.a cream cheese. You are NOT just limited to the plain cream cheese, but is offered very interesting ones ranging from fruits to nuts to fish! Growing up with Noah's Bagels I have missed having a quality go to bagel place. Somehow having lived in Pasadena for a year I did not know there was an Einstein Brothers near me (they also do Noah's). I was over the moon! Truly the bagels here are some of the best around (well any Noah's or Einsteins really). I have had bagels at many other places and they just suck when compared to these bagels. I also liked that this store has their stuff down. You order at the first register, grab your drinks and what not as you walk down to the second registe, and as you pay your food is just about ready. Genius. Even though they were pretty busy they kept a break neck pace. Good job. Now that I know of this little gem I know I'll be back. read more

Ok, so James L. is finally not writing another review for a blasted donut shop. Yes, it seems like for the last month I've been on a donut binge. But instead of cutting donuts out cold turkey I've graduated to another donut shaped edible: bagels! I can even put a slice of turkey on a crisped toasted bagel to help ease the donut abstaining plain. But what I've found about Noah's is that they also have AWESOME muffins, coffee cakes and other baked goods! When I walked in today, I noticed that they had an apple cinnamonish coffee cake and a strawberry muffin: Me: which one is better? Noah's girl: I've never tried the coffee cake before so I'd go with muffin, cause I know that one is good. Me: (I was hoping she'd say the coffee cake. Actually I was torn cause both looked good, so she should have just suggested both.) I'll take both! And both were indeed good. I've also tried their blueberry muffin before, which is also really good. I usually visit the other location on Lake, but I happened to be in the area and really craved some bagels. My usual order consists of Cinnamon Raison - toasted with strawberry smear on the side. I always ask for it on the side because by the time I get home or am in the car the bagel is already soggy and it turns into something really gross. Plus, there's nothing more delightful than spreading your own cream cheese on a bagel. I hope that didn't sound dirty. Back to my experience... I ordered the above and opened the lid to the side of smear, only to realize that they went cheap on it. At the Lake location, the little container is jammed packed with smear allowing for complete nice medium sized coverage on both top & bottom pieces of the bagel. The one THEY gave me had air pockets in the bottom of the container, the side of it and also on the top. It'd be fair for me to say they gave me half of the containers' full potential. Do you know what that means to a full bagel experience?? I politely asked for more smear since the one they gave me was half full. They told me I'd have to pay extra and I refused. The other location doesn't go skimpy. Anyway, I like the bagels but will pass on the cheap, skimpy, half empty smear that costs extra, **but you'll have to buy more experience** at this location. read more

This Noah's is now an Einstein Bagels (both are owned by the same company). I'm not sure if the food has changed at all since the switch, but I am more familiar with Einstein than with Noah's - so the change didn't seem significant to me. Delicious, amazing bagels here either way. Even on a Sunday afternoon they tend to have all of my favorites left, which is much appreciated! Their bagels are chewy, tender, and have plenty of seasonings. Their shmear is pretty dynamite as well! My favorite bagels here are Everything, Onion, and Cranberry. read more

I love the bagels. I took them to work one day and my coworker, who has lived all over the world, made me write down directions and name to this place because it's the best he's ever had. The staff is very friendly, the coffee is delicious, bagels are fluffy and just perfect, and the honey almond cream cheese is unbeatable. I used to go here when it was Noah's, and always knew it was owned by Einsteins, I'm assuming the name change is for simplicity, marketing, or cost. Einstein Bagels price used to be pretty reasonable. I always buy a dozen bagels when they have their seasonal pumpkin spice bagels due to $6-7 per dozen. This year I'm a bit disappointed because the schmears are not included when you buy a dozen on Monday as it's a special so you must pay additional fees. This week they wouldn't allow customers to buy a dozen of pumpkin on Monday because the store said they are limited so you can only purchase on Wednesday or Thursday which is full cost excluding schmears... additional cost for schmears. Purchased $100 card for my daughter to use at college. The Einstein on her campus says they can't accept it ?? The store where I purchased won't refund. Trying to work out this useless $100 gift card i BOUGHT with cash. They won't even split it into two $50 cards so that I can give them as gifts or donations. They are extremely inflexible. If your cards do not actually work at all locations then train your employees to give that information BEFORE money is wasted. I paid cash for a card and my cash is held hostage. read more
