0 stars*** The worst bagel sandwiches, and the most prices. Save your time and money and get it somewhere else. Like Bagelocity & The Soup King Cafe or A&S

This Einstein Bagel shop in the Big Oak Shopping Center, Lower Makefield, PA, (No. It's not in Yardley), is well set up for Covid Protocols. It is clean, prepared for ordering and takeaway transactions, and even prebags the tops and stirrers for coffee cups. First time I've seen that. The service was prompt and friendly, and I saw no sign of the negativity referenced in other reviews. Unfortunately, unlike their namesake Albert E., the bagels themselves are not as intelligently conceptualized. Their skin is soft rather than offering a crispness found in more traditional NY style bagels. This suggests the boiling in lye or brine was skipped or inadequate to foster the differing texture signature of the better bagels in the Universe. The overall taste is decent, and they do cover the surface with plenty of toppings (roasted onion flakes for me). Yet, missing a key step in the process relegates their product to strictly second tier status, when it would have been so easy to get it right. They do have plenty of options and can throw together a reasonably good sandwich. So, if you don't mind the lack of textural differentiation, you will find the grab, bite and chew satisfying. Otherwise, you will discover yourself wishing for a more complete effort. Their coffee is actually better than the bagels.

If you want an actual breakfast don't turn this way, first of all who heats up the egg at a breakfast spot I thought breakfast sandwiches were made to order I felt like I bought a sizzli from wawa honestly. Hash browns are greasy and bland as well. Pretty much I didn't enjoy at all.

Nova lox. Never a bad choice.

Today, my order was a little underwhelming. I'm used to them cooking the steak through, the meat becoming dark, crispy diced shavings that pair well with the melted Cooper. My order today had a slightly undercooked, grey quality to it that also lacked in a good dash of seasoning, even if only salt & pepper. I believe I got a bit less meat on my sandwich than any other time I've been there too. As I mentioned, I believe I just caught them at a bad time or on a bad day because usually, this is the place to be!

I never watched Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones because every last loser on earth was all about it. The Beatles fucking suck and Bruce Springsteen can go shit in his hat. Pumpkin spice is for pumpkin pie and that's it, no matter what these dizzy suburban women say. So the decision to visit Johnny Longhots today was based entirely on poor reviews. The guy who ordered a sandwich to the hospital and found a cheesesteak to be "greasy" deserves to contract MRSA during his stay. The dope who complained his fries were soggy ordered his shit off Door Dash. He's lucky the driver didn't eat all of his fries. The folks who called out the teenagers who are getting their first experience working can all get bent. You weren't perfect when you had your first job. Don't forget people like you willingly locked kids in their homes during covid. It's no wonder some of them struggle with social skills and working under pressure. Have a little grace, then eat a bag of dicks for not being patient to them. Don't get me started on that dipshit from Brooklyn. That person who rated the place a one for the soda? I already know who you vote for. Onto the food - the menu is huge. There are a ton of choices with something for just about everyone. There's even gluten free options for those fucking people. There were four or five sandwiches in the running, but it was the Gritty Cheesesteak that ultimately won out on my first visit. And that's a strange decision for me because the Flyers stink and their fans are even worse. They're the worst organization in hockey. Maybe I just wanted fries on my sandwich. Yea - that's it. So the Gritty is a good amount of beef, fries tossed in Old Bay and topped with white cheddar cheese sauce atop a seeded roll. I added fried onions. The sandwich scores higher than the Flyers. I was a fan of the seeded roll which was super fresh. The cheese sauce was tasty and complemented the fries really well. They were super crispy, well seasoned and plentiful. The beef wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was tender and cooked well. All-in-all a good sandwich. The gals up front were attentive and friendly. They took my order quickly. Hats off to the kitchen for getting my food out promptly among the online orders. The place was pretty clean and had a ton of Philly Sports pics on the wall. The music on the radio was some throwback stuff - thank God it wasn't any of that mumble rap shit most kids play these days. Johnny's has a bunch of lunch specials that look worthwhile and a decent value. Locally owned spot worth giving your business to. It's a 4-star review from me that gets bumped to a 5 to spite the mopes who gave it a one.

Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich - This was the biggest disappointment. The chicken breast was extremely thick and had a grainy texture that made me wonder if it was chicken breast with rib meat. If that's the case, it gives the impression that quality isn't a priority. The breading also fell off with almost every bite, and the sandwich wasn't well proportioned (one oversized tomato slice that wasn't cut evenly). Most importantly, it didn't taste like Nashville hot at all -- more like "Nashville not." Shrimp Po' Boy - Below average. The shrimp had a slightly fishy taste, and the bread didn't resemble proper po' boy bread. The greens were a spring mix, which felt like an odd choice. Traditional shredded lettuce would have worked much better. I've had po' boys in Louisiana, and while I wasn't expecting complete authenticity, I was expecting something closer to the spirit of the dish. This version missed the mark. Smash Burger - Probably the best of the three mains we ordered, but still just average. I've honestly had better smash burgers at chains like Shake Shack. Sides: The fries were great. We ordered the beer cheese sauce, which was fine but not necessary. The onion rings were the standout -- perfectly crispy with a clean bite. The homemade ranch served with them was excellent. Overall, I really wanted to like this place more, but the food didn't deliver enough for me to return.

The beer cheese was not the best and the pork roll a bit too chunky didn't make a perfect bite. As always they rock the chicken sandwiches out of the park. I ordered takeout via the website which was pretty seamless. Upon entering the place was empty. I walked to the counter and there were two employees making fries and one typing on the computer. Waiting to be greeted or asked for help I grabbed some chips to pair with my sandwich and placed it on the counter. And still no look or any sort of acknowledgement from any of the employees. They knew I was there but they were distracted so I waited patiently. After about 5 mins a gentleman asked if he can help and I said I'm here for a pickup. He went grabbed my order and I paid. I showed him my check in coupon for a free fountain drink. He called what he said was his manager and explained to her I have a coupon which clearly states the business name and location, and she replied "we don't have anything like that". Ok. Cool. I didn't argue I grabbed my food and thanked them. I wanted to get the service portion out of the way because I wanted to be fair with the food as standalone since it was takeout and I don't know how the dine in experience is but one can only guess They have sticker branding on the hoagie wrap which is cool. I opened and noticed the seeded roll which was fresh and soft. When i split the sub to see the contents it was far from properly proportioned and honestly looked like two totally different sandwiches. When I opened one was full with onions to the point I had to take some off, and I love onions! But this was too much. When I ate the bread was soft had nice texture but the sandwich itself was bland. I tasted more onions than anything. The meat was just there for texture and there wasn't a lot of it. No kick from the Capicola no tang from the Genoa. It was underwhelming. I had banana peppers on the side which when I added still couldn't save it. To be named a hoagie shack and get served a disproportioned tasteless sub just resulted in disappointment. I had some great hoagies so in context my bar is set pretty high but this place even with the convenient close location will not be seeing my business going forward. Gave it a extra star for the bread. Hope your experience goes better than mines
