Alright, decided to give this spot one last chance before adding it to my "Never Returning" list, and sadly last night was the law straw. I 1000% understand that due to covid, restaurants have suffered, and perhaps that is the reason why they had to increase their prices. However, there was an exaggerated small amount of meat on both the tacos, and the Torta we got. The torta was literally just bread, beans and avocado. It sucks that customers have to be the ones getting jipped. Increase your prices more if you have to, but don't do that to the meat of the food, it's ridiculous. Will NOT be coming here. read more

However it's been there for several years, and any time I happen to drive by late at night, there's always people eating there. My experience in the past has always been that a temporary looking food vendor who stays at a permanent location must have some pretty amazing food. So last week my girlfriend and I were craving tacos for dinner, but I didn't get home from work until 11pm, and all our regular spots were closed. I remembered El Abuelo Nacho being open late, so we drove over to see if they were still open, and SCORE!! (they were.) Right off the bat, my girlfriend was stoked because they had lengua tacos. She ordered a couple of those, and I had some carne asada tacos and a couple chicken tacos. AMAZING!! The tacos are exactly what you want from a "street taco." Flavorful, packed full of meat, and not expensive. The asada tacos were especially good, and they had a great little salsa selection, one of which was a bomb green avocado style salsa that I put on all of the asada tacos. The couple working the truck were friendly & cheerful, and the overall meal hit the spot! It was exactly what we were looking for late on a Wednesday night, and 9 tacos + 2 waters came in under $20! It's awesome because they open later than most taco trucks, (until 1:30am) and it's not that far from where I live. A chill little taco truck that is open late... I think they're open until 11:30 or 12:30 depending on days. They have great tacos at reasonable prices. A few fresh salsas and veggies. There's a little seating area and tons of parking either on the street or in the parking lot. Quiet location and usually busy. Only giving it two stars because of the Carne Asada Quesadilla which is one of the best I have had packed with cheese and a good amount of meat. Besides that I had the Carne Asada, Cabeza, and Lengua Tacos which were the most bland and boring Tacos of my life. This place doesn't look like they accept CC so bring cash, just in case. The ASADA MULITA and CHICKEN TACO w/ a PINA (pineapple) SODA are my go to. A mulita is almost like a quesadilla except it's not folded in half, but there are two tortilla's, so it's more like a lil' sandwich. I don't usually order chicken tacos, but the chicken was really tender and flavorful, and their sauces plus a squeeze of lime equates awesomeness. This is a very tiny little taco truck like stand that they open at night when the recycling business is closed. I have not seen them during the day. The size of the thing is half of a taco truck so its probably a tow in. I went to pickup some food from there around 11pm tonight with the interest of picking up some good food cheap and to avoid Del Taco if I could. Ordered the carne asada burrito with everything on It. I posted a pic if you wanna see the burrito. Smaller than some restaurants but it tasted very homely. Not Bad I said. Not the craziest but not bad. Cost me $5 for that burrito. This spot is in my top favorite places to go to for some bomb tacos. I could say i'm a regular now. Their meat is really well cooked, fresh and has great flavor. The salsas taste great as well. My favorite food item from this place is the asada mulita. They have the best mulitas (tortillas with your choice of meat and cheese) here you must try! The cheese they use is soooooo good. Had the tacos de asada, al pastor, and pollo. The first bite actually gave me flashbacks of eating street tacos in Mexico. Fire grilled and flavorful meats, simple menu, and authentic salsas served by a family who knows what they're doing. The next time you're in The Valley do yourself a favor and give your old Abuelo a visit. You won't be disappointed. I don't give high ratings lightly so will be giving a four for now.
