My little secret spot. They're OPEN LATE and super cheap! $1.50 for tacos, $2.50 for a mulita, and sodas come in glass bottles are $2. This place doesn't look like they accept CC so bring cash, just in case. The ASADA MULITA and CHICKEN TACO w/ a PINA (pineapple) SODA are my go to. A mulita is almost like a quesadilla except it's not folded in half, but there are two tortilla's, so it's more like a lil' sandwich. I don't usually order chicken tacos, but the chicken was really tender and flavorful, and their sauces plus a squeeze of lime equates awesomeness. Alright, decided to give this spot one last chance before adding it to my "Never Returning" list, and sadly last night was the law straw. I 1000% understand that due to covid, restaurants have suffered, and perhaps that is the reason why they had to increase their prices. However, there was an exaggerated small amount of meat on both the tacos, and the Torta we got. The torta was literally just bread, beans and avocado. It sucks that customers have to be the ones getting jipped. Increase your prices more if you have to, but don't do that to the meat of the food, it's ridiculous. Will NOT be coming here. read more

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! This place is awesome! It's a temporary style taco trailer parked in a small parking lot on Nordhoff with some tables & chairs set up. However it's been there for several years, and any time I happen to drive by late at night, there's always people eating there. My experience in the past has always been that a temporary looking food vendor who stays at a permanent location must have some pretty amazing food. So last week my girlfriend and I were craving tacos for dinner, but I didn't get home from work until 11pm, and all our regular spots were closed. I remembered El Abuelo Nacho being open late, so we drove over to see if they were still open, and SCORE!! (they were.) Right off the bat, my girlfriend was stoked because they had lengua tacos. She ordered a couple of those, and I had some carne asada tacos and a couple chicken tacos. AMAZING!! The tacos are exactly what you want from a "street taco." Flavorful, packed full of meat, and not expensive. The asada tacos were especially good, and they had a great little salsa selection, one of which was a bomb green avocado style salsa that I put on all of the asada tacos. The couple working the truck were friendly & cheerful, and the overall meal hit the spot! It was exactly what we were looking for late on a Wednesday night, and 9 tacos + 2 waters came in under $20! We'll definitely be back here to try the burritos & quesadillas, and as other reviewers have mentioned, I'm going to give the mulitas a shot! read more

I just love the tacos and other options at this place. As a gringo, I feel so comfortable at this taco truck because of the younger daughter speaks perfect English and was extremely helpful in explaining the different options. Not exactly sure what it was I totally enjoyed but the best way to describe it was like a cheesy taco... I know this is one of my worst reviews because I'm ignorant on the correct names of the food I got. But I can tell you that I will definitely be back again for all my late night taco cravings. Very friendly staff and self-serve salsa bar makes this place a must to stop one night at. HERE IS THE PROPER NAME - MULITAS And mulitas with al pastor or carnitas are always my go-to. Like one yelper wrote the tacos are not to oily. As I use to live in Koreatown, these tacos can hold their own to the tacos stands out in L.A. I really like how the condiments & sauces are kept refrigerated and not out in the open for people to cough on or bugs to land on. There in a parking lot with parking for up to maybe 7 cars and there is also side street parking. Will be a constant regular for me read more

I'm a big sucker for taco trucks, especially if you're feeling the late night cravings for tacos and this place really satisfied my cravings. It's awesome because they open later than most taco trucks, (until 1:30am) and it's not that far from where I live. The owner of this truck is SO nice, super friendly and he gave me a high five for knowing my basic Spanish. Their asada and tripa tacos were so yummy, and sold at such a good price too! ($1.50 per taco) I think this place would be my go-to taco truck :) read more

A chill little taco truck that is open late... I think they're open until 11:30 or 12:30 depending on days. They have great tacos at reasonable prices. A few fresh salsas and veggies. There's a little seating area and tons of parking either on the street or in the parking lot. Quiet location and usually busy. I recommend to anyone who is looking for a delicious El Pastor or Asada tacos. I'm not sure if they take credit cards, I've only used cash. read more

Only giving it two stars because of the Carne Asada Quesadilla which is one of the best I have had packed with cheese and a good amount of meat. Besides that I had the Carne Asada, Cabeza, and Lengua Tacos which were the most bland and boring Tacos of my life. Can't believe anyone really enjoys the Tacos here because Taco Bell even does a better job. Good selection of salsas to choose from, few veggies to pick from, and a slow process in getting your meal made. If you decide to call them don't waste your time cause no one answers the calls. Wouldn't mind going back for the quesadillas but other than that will not waste my time or money. read more

The food always tastes very fresh and rarely disappoints on the spices + textures! The people that work there are sweet and their hours are AMAZING for night owls! They provide some basic chairs and tables and their adjoining parking lot has limited spaces available but is rarely full. Holy smokes the tacos here are AMAZING! Beef and chicken, must try. I work less then five minutes away from this taco truck and so far I've been here twice. They are always friendly, fast service, and refilling the condiment table. They have salsa, radishes, lime, plastic silverware, napkins and more. Some of the best tacos in Cali.... get the mulita as well it's delicious. You can feed two for under $20 fyi when you find the place it's not a building, it's a trailer stand. They do have a few tables and plenty of chairs. Cash Only best tacos you will have in a while !!! read more

This is a very tiny little taco truck like stand that they open at night when the recycling business is closed. I have not seen them during the day. The size of the thing is half of a taco truck so its probably a tow in. I went to pickup some food from there around 11pm tonight with the interest of picking up some good food cheap and to avoid Del Taco if I could. Ordered the carne asada burrito with everything on It. I posted a pic if you wanna see the burrito. Smaller than some restaurants but it tasted very homely. Not Bad I said. Not the craziest but not bad. Cost me $5 for that burrito. This is a nice little pit stop when coming home from a late movie or a day at the mall. They have a decent selection of taco meats, although they do not have carnitas on the menu. I haven't tried the burritos or tortas yet, so I cannot speak to how they taste. read more

This spot is in my top favorite places to go to for some bomb tacos. I could say i'm a regular now. Their meat is really well cooked, fresh and has great flavor. The salsas taste great as well. My favorite food item from this place is the asada mulita. They have the best mulitas (tortillas with your choice of meat and cheese) here you must try! The cheese they use is soooooo good. This place should be on your next taco spot to try! read more

The price is good, the tacos are pretty solid (there may be a chewy bite here and there, the meat isn't immaculately cleaned), and there's something magic about ordering tacos from a truck that Tacos El Abuelo Nacho encapsulates perfectly. I'm always on the lookout for amazing taco places to put on my radar. Been to too many of the hyped spots that always seem to fall short of their reputations. El Abuelo didn't disappoint! Had the tacos de asada, al pastor, and pollo. The first bite actually gave me flashbacks of eating street tacos in Mexico. Fire grilled and flavorful meats, simple menu, and authentic salsas served by a family who knows what they're doing. The next time you're in The Valley do yourself a favor and give your old Abuelo a visit. You won't be disappointed. I don't give high ratings lightly so will be giving a four for now. Part of my five rating is consistency. Will definitely be visiting again to see if my rating gets bumped up to a 5. read more

The restaurant is located right off Ventura Blvd and has an attached parking garage in the basement which can be accessed via the parking lot behind the restaurant. I peeked inside and there's also a nice lounge area with a beautiful flower wall as well as a proper dining area. When we arrived, there was a live DJ spinning tunes. I assume he's there during brunch hours, as he left around 3 pm when brunch ended. I started with a frozen lime margarita ($12). It was okay; it felt like it was only half frozen as the ice wasn't blended that well. For my main, I got the famous Anejo carne asada and shrimp plate for $40. Yes it was pricy, but the portion size was also huge! I was starving and somehow managed to finish the plate, but it'd be a great dish to share for two people with small appetites. I really enjoyed it as well. I asked for the steak to be cooked rare, and they didn't overcook it. Each bite was super tender and flavorful and paired well with the rice. Everyone else also enjoyed their dish. One friend got the wet chicken burrito for $15 and it was massive! Another got the veggie fajitas with steak added and really enjoyed her dish as well. Comes with a basket of chips and salsa you get yourself at a salsa bar. Ordering is at the counter, then you take a number to your table. Soft drinks are self serve. They don't have Coke Zero, only Diet Coke. The flan was pretty good. They ask if you want it topped with a caramel sauce and/or whipped cream. Again, I had to go to the counter and ask for it (even though I had paid for it). In fact, I had to go back to the counter several times. My drink cup was forgotten. My flan was as forgotten. Since no one came by to check on our party of five- I had to go to the counter to get to-go boxes and bags. It's close by to work, so I might come by another time. Or I might just go to Melody's because their staff seems to be nicer...

Menus are on the qr codes on the table but the menu is hard to scroll through because you have to click each different items to look at and then scroll down and up. We asked for regular menus to make it easier and we were given menus that had hole punches throughout from punching out all the prices because I'm assuming prices have gone up. I hope that they could make the virtual menu a little easier to look at since i think they might be phasing out their physical menus. While we waited on our order we were given delicious chips and spicy bean dip which were excellent. So delicious. For salsa we were directed to the salsa bar. While I think the bar is cool, the tiny cups to get salsa are too small. I would have liked the bean dip sized bowl to get enough, instead of having to get several tiny cups which are hard to scoop from with the chips. I orderd the #7 which was a cheese enchilada, a crunchy beef taco, and rice and beans. My friends ordered two different taquitos plates, one orderd a fajitas plate, and the youngest got cheese quesedilla. My food was delicious but the portion was so large that I could only eat the taco and take the rest to go! Same with My friends, everyone ate maybe a 3rd to a half of the plate and then we all needed to go boxes. Overall a very delicious visit!

This is a food truck so you order and take it to go, or they have a couple small tables on the sidewalk if you want to eat there. When we arrived there was one order in front of us, so we did not have to wait long. The guy taking our order was very nice, I asked for some extra salsa and radishes, no problem. We ended up getting 2 orders of crazy fries, which is what they call their asada fries. A regular asada burrito, a 3 taco asada plate and a Birria trio. The fries were really good, the fries themselves were very crispy, which was great, most places are soggy fries, not here, they are crispy and very tasty by themselves. These fries are loaded, nacho cheese, asada, beans, sour cream, guacamole, onions, jalapeños, pico de gallo and cilantro. I have to say these are excellent, have had asada fries around the area and these stand heads and shoulder above them. The burrito was pretty large, packed for of meat, rice, beans, onions, cilantro and green sauce, tasty and enough for two when sharing fries as well. These Birria trio was great, interesting, 3 takes on their birria tacos, one kind of like a tostado style, then a queso birria, and a birria taco. These are one of my son's favorites, so had to get them and only $10 as well. Lastly, I got the 3 Asada tacos plate with rice and beans, I liked them very much, but I am easy to please and can't go wrong with asada tacos typically. All in all a great new find and we will be back to get the crazy fries and try some of there other items on our next visits. Go support them, small business, great food and service, write some reviews to get them more business. Enjoy!

I was also impressed by their inclusion of limes, radish, grilled onions, and grilled serrano peppers in separate packages, all for no extra cost. Their lime supplier, whoever they are, is amazing -- the ones I had were very fresh and plump.
