So glad I found this place! I love Korean food but gotta mix it up with my motherlands food as well! I had been searching for a solid Salvadoran food restaurant and I finally found it! I don't know about you but my main test for whether a place passes my legit/authentic food spot is the beans! I'd your beans are solid I'm down! This place has deliciousness (yeah i used the word correctly) when it comes to beans! The breakfast dish was delish! Give me platanos (plantains) with fried beans and fresh crema (cream) and I'm good! Add to it Salvadoreno sausages and it's game over! (In a good way, with story-mode and everything lol). Also, since I'm a glutton for delicious food, I added a chicken tamale. It was also pretty darn good! I can't wait to return! Parking can be a challenge depending on when you go. Service was excellent ! Oh and super clean bathroom! (Always a plus!). Go check it out!

The pupusa were old or cooked in a hurry they completely fell apart as you grabbed them you can literally separate the top from the bottom like if they had two tortillas and slapped them together and cooked on heavy oil, the cheese was not cheesy (de loroco) and the pork was salty .. not sure what happened but did not like at all

    Salvadorean breakfast delicious.

Delicious Salvadorean breakfast Desayuno. Meat marinated well , crema on point beans on point, eggs were done well over easy, plantains were yummy too. Only thing didn't care for was the chorizo it was way too dry. Hard pass on that next time. Tortillas nice and thick and hand made. A little on the pricier side but delish non the less.

delicious, generous portion, short wait for food. the ceviche was $20 and pollo $17. each plate was enough for two people.

I have walked by this place on my way home SO many times but never stopped in. One rainy Sunday, our usual favorites were closed so we ended up here.... best thing that could have happened! El Amanecer (pardon my gringaness; I thought the name meant some kind of bird because of the pictures/logo, but I was way off) is a cute, two-story, homey restaurant. We ordered wine, beer, a cheese and squash blossom pupusa, fried plantains, and a carne asada/eggs plate. Everything was outstanding! I've tried a lot of pupusas since moving to K-town and this was one of the best I've had. Prices were way more than reasonable, too. Service was friendly, and we were very, very glad we tried this place. Side note: I don't know why, but the "Limite 3 Cervezas por Persona" sign made me giggle. When I was a kid, a roofer/plumber/I don't remember came to our house for an estimate, and hit on my mom. All he really said was that he "was looking for a hard-working woman like her, and only drinks 3 beers a day (all in Spanish)" We made fun of her ever since and referred to him as the Tres Cervezas guy. Kids are assholes, and they never forget the things you probably want them to forget. The sign made me wonder how many drunk people it took to warrant a drink limitation sign to be printed, and it made me also think that if that guy is still single and looking, it would be the perfect place for him to take a lady on a date! That had nothing to do with my review but it's one of the reasons why I like this place. Great restaurant.

It's not a good place expensive prices , I ask for a cocktel and they filled with water and I was waiting for what I order one of the employees ask the owner ( Lady) if he can leave he has an emergency and she told him he can't leave the work place because he has to work, authorities has to do something about it.

the meat was nasty, I asked the waiter to cook the meat more and he refused to do it.

We came a couple of months ago and had their loaded yucca fries with carne asada as well as some pupusas. The meat on our fries felt really low quality-- the best way I could describe it was it tasting like frozen hamburger meat-- and gave us indigestion for the rest of the night, which was really disappointing to experience. Today we unfortunately experienced some really rude service. My bf ordered a plain water and we were given a fresco ensalada (no big deal, he likes it) We don't eat pork and ordered fried yucca on its own, just yucca frita. We were given a plate of yucca con chicharron :( I told the service we just ordered yucca frita and we were told that we did not specify that for her. I explained that we don't eat pork so we sent it back and were met with a displeasing look. I said we didn't want to yucca anymore since we had a lot of food already and she said "the kitchen already made it." So I said it was fine but just the yucca this time and she came back with the same exact plate just without the chicharron-- no visible plate change. Needless to say for the price, decline in food quality, and rude service, it's not worth coming back. At least not for a while.

We started with the ensalada, which was refreshing and had just the right amount of sweetness. For pupusas, we ordered the revueltas, loroco con queso, and frijol con queso. We tried both corn and rice dough, and honestly, both were delicious. My personal favorite was the frijol con queso with the rice dough- so flavorful and perfectly cooked. The yuca frita was exactly how it should be: crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside. The chicharrón was cooked perfectly as well, and the homemade green salsa that the sweet lady helping us made was the perfect addition. She was so kind, welcoming, and always had a friendly smile, which made the experience even better. Another thing that really stood out was how clean the restaurant is. It's spacious, with plenty of seating whether you're coming with a large group, your family, or just stopping by for a meal on your own. We absolutely loved this place and will definitely be back. Next time we're bringing my Salvadoran in-laws- I have a feeling this place will get their authenticity approval too! Spanish!

If you've been to El Salvador and know what authentic Salvadorian food is supposed to taste like, this place will bring back some memories.
