Sad to say the customer service for this place will rate a negative-5. We ordered our food it was ready , however the plate was on a table where there was a guest eating there.... ackward to go to someone's table and excuse yourself because you have to get your food... now when my nephew was reaching over to get the tray it was so hot he couldn't pick it up. So he asked for a box or a towel and was told he didn't have one... and continued to work with no regard that my nephew could have burned himself. The customer that was eating offered to go to her car and get me a towel, interrupting her meal because the worker could give my nephew the time of day to help. Sad to say another customer got up opened the door for him to walk out.... wow i will make sure my friends and family not to go to this establishment. Your customer service is horrible. I'm very disappointment in their service. We had called a day before to place a pick up order and we specifically asked if they would rather us do same day orders or if we could place it a day before. Sarah was very nice told me I was able to make order a day before so we did. We ordered a Jumbalaya and a Garden Salad for 10 people. We gave her the name of the person that would pick up order. When he showed up at the time we arranged he was told there was no order under his name nor was there a Jumbalaya or Garden Salad in anyone's order. I called to speak with Sarah whom was on her break so I asked the lady that answered the phone for a status on our order she hung up the phone without giving me an answer so I called back asked again and asked for her not to hang up on me while she checked. She never came back on the line. My mother in law went back in to ask for Sarah the lady that had taken the order a day before. Another lady then came out telling her the order was being finished. They gave them the order they payed and where charged $6 for using their visa card as payment. All that hassle and headache for the chicken to be undercooked. We will not be returning and are very upset at the treatment and disorganization of this place. So much for supporting small businesses. read more

Love this place! My family loves the food and they are super picky eaters, there is something for every age. Good is always great tasting. I have to say I love the bread with the balsamic Vinaigrette I could be happy just eating that. The staff is really friendly and remember your face once you go every so often. The reason I didn't give it a 5 Star is because we have came a couple of times after church and it's closed ... not sure why? No signs as to why. Also the restroom is by the kitchen which is weird and I don't really like going thought there and for me since I have two small children I always have to make multiple trips; however that Wong stop us from going there is yummy! read more

OK! I was passing by baldwin Park towards Ramona blvd. And suddenly came out this big "EL APPETIZ" banner with the green,white,and red stripes at first I thought that was just another mexican cusine but I stop by just because I was so hungry at that time. I would say that inside was pretty small and seriously smelly with couches on the side and few tables. The staff was courteous so I sat and they brought me this old menu with Italian foods!!!! I say Italian food!!! Guys... I was shaking at that time because that was my first Italian restaurant around West Covina. So I ordered only... only a regular meaty calzone with a small Italian-Style chopped side salad!!! dang the portion was big!!!whoooooohoooo....!!! the Calzone taste like american pizza, but the salad was awesome with green letuce, basil, thick slices of salame, mozzarella cheese, garbanzo beans, tomatoes, and this delicious vinaigrette!!! aarrrghhhffhhh.... I should go back tomorrow!!! well the calzone was ok for me! maybe because Ive already tasted the real Italian Calzone so many times back in Italy. But the Salad was great!!! oh yeah before eating my meal they brought me 2 small bread full of Oil and the vinaigrette So Good!!!! WELL I like this little hole in the wall. Let me just say one thing: people don't come here for the ambiance or service. They come here for good food, and good prices. If you want fancy service, go to a fancy restaurant and pay more for it. Is this like the only Italian place in BP? I think so...anyway I work a couple blocks away and it's a no brainer when I want something besides tacos for lunch. Their pizza bread sandwiches are tasty, and a tasty steal at that. $6.50 and it comes with a small salad and bread. At a restaurant, dare I say "real" restaurant, this would easily cost at least 9 bucks. Heck, even if they had this kind of stuff at Carl's Jr. it would be 9 bucks. And the pasta is very good as well. I've had the Cajun Jambalaya Pasta (7.75 half/ 9.75 full) with shrimp and chicken, onions, bell peppers and tomatos in a creamy spicy sauce. The chicken tequila pasta is my other favorite: chicken, red onions, bell peppers, cilantro and the sauce is a little spicy with a hint of lime. They go a little heavy on the sauce, so if you don't like that, I'd suggest that you specify easy on the sauce when ordering. MMMMmmMmmm... Their portion of a full size pasta plate will easily stuff 2 people to the gills and it comes with the bread, and I always add half a salad. It's only extra buck to add it, so why not? I love their cesar dressing. They also have half portions available if you're eating alone and don't want a bunch of leftovers. But the half portions are like one to two bucks less than the full, so I usually just get the full size if it's just me anyway, and save the rest for later. Only ate in the actual restaurant itself once because I either get it to go or delivered, and the service was okay; nothing to write home about, but the servers and cooks were friendly enough and meant well. If they spruced up the place, you know, better lighting and furniture and more servers, I'd probably give this place a 5 star rating because of the value to tastiness ratio. (But if they did all that, they would probably have to increase their prices, and nobody wants that, so hole in the wall it is!) read more

Actually great food but the service is ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS! Especially their take out. If they tell you 20 minutes, it's really 45-50 minutes, and for delivery, it's always at least an hour. The issue has been addressed with the owner and he doesn't give a s@#t. Finally, the serving staff have absolutely no personality or sense of urgency. Great Italian food! We have tried their meat lasagna, linguini with beef sauce, meat calzone, grilled chicken sandwich, and Cesar and antipasto salads...and they are each amazing! The calzone, meat sauce on the spaghetti, and their lasagna are unforgettable. This is our local go-to Italian place. The food tastes fresh, the service is great (dine-in & to-go). There always seems to be the same waiter, who also takes all the phone orders and seats the people, and rings them up, but he is friendly, patient, and attentive to his customers despite the obvious chaos going on around him. Decided I was craving authentic italian food not from chain restaurants, decided would try this place near home. Inside was ok, decorations were not that impressive but I let it go. The only thing I really didn't like was that their bathroom is attached to the kitchen where people are working. I don't like to walk to the kitchen to go to the restroom.. sorry. I sat on the patio, which was pleasantly nice, weather was nice and it wasn't hot at all. Had a quiet dinner which was nice. I order the lassagna and Pescadori seafood pasta with coke and iced tea. The food looked appetizing; the lassagna tasted alright, nothing out of this world. The Pescadori on the other hand had more flavor and was really tasty. Portions were huge so I got to take my leftovers. One thing I didn't like was that they were stingy with their table bread, and only gave me 1 piece of bread... My family loves this place. My Aunt who lives in Hong Kong insists on going here every time she comes to visit. The food is great and the portions are huge (the regular sizes are good, but get the full size for only a little more money and you will probably have enough for two meals). I'm so happy my friend showed me this place because we were craving pasta and uhhh HELLO the only italian restaurant in the city?! HECK YESS i will try :) So when we first walked in, the place was very small but it had that Italian vibe! When I saw the shrimp scampi mediterranean on the menu, i had to get it. Maybe because I'm biased and I compare every shrimp scampi dish I get to the one from BJ's, but it wasn't too good. We also got the spaghetti (orrrr spaghettini?) and that was okay too! Not too great and not too bad. The bread was delicious but it's nothing to rave about! They should really turn the ac on in there because it was REALLY hot!
