Stopped by today for the Monday mojarra special. It's been a local favorite and been consistent, but today was a complete miss. The pescado wasn't fully cooked and the inner layers were still raw. I tried to flag our waitress (Marcella/Marisella?), but she was no where to be found. Sentí como nos dejo como novia de rancho y nunca regreso. Por fin, Alonzo nos ayudo y le dije que le faltava el pescado y que salio crudo. Que bueno que Alonzo nos ayudo por que no se encontrava la otra mesera. Marcella/Marisella stopped at our table only after she saw us speaking with Alonzo and said she would take it back for another. Welp, the same fish came back just fried a bit longer and put back on the same plate. I later noticed the piece of fish I left still raw on the side of the plate they brought back to the table. The fish itself was fully cooked, but I don't know why they would leave the raw piece off to the side of the plate and not dispose of it before returning it to the customer. Alonzo, our MVP, came back to check up on us a few times since he likely saw us trying to flag down our waitress and I appreciate the hustle and courtesy he gives when attending his guests. If there was any positive note here it would be him and the service he provided to all guests tonight. Moreover, when we finally flagged our waitress for the check she had the audacity to still have us wait for her to finish wiping down some tables. I don't want to sound pretentious in any sort of way and I would understand if the restaurant was busy, but there were only maybe 4 or 5 tables being used at the time. You should prioritize your guests and make them feel welcome rather than diverting your attention on secondary tasks. I would consider this a one off experience if this were the first time, but we've had similar experiences with her attending us before. On top of that, she also never came to check on the table after the plate came back. She didn't even bring us back the box we asked for after we paid the check. I had to walk to the kiosk near the bar where she was standing with another waitress to ask for the box again. The icing on top was the fact that the other waitress brought us the box and bag herself instead of Marcella/Marisella. Crazy, right? I applaud the other 2 servers (I didn't catch the other girls name), but they salvaged whatever was left of the evening. Not sure what our waitress's deal was, but find another profession if you can't meet the bare minimum of working in the service industry. Hope the business can work to resolve this issue and correct the behavior to prevent any future mishaps with guests. There have been other instances in the past where we thoroughly enjoyed our evenings, but today was just a complete miss. read more

The mango habanero aguachiles were so goood I definitely recommend! The sushi here is also really good. The service is great they are checking up and making sure everything is okay. They have a good amount of tables and booths, a bar, and live music playing which is nice. read more

Maybe we came on a bad night It sucks when you get seated and watch everyone who comes after you get water and chips and salsa before you. Best way to turn off a customer. We tried the oyster shooters, they were ok. I got the tostada with shrimp ceviche. When asked if I wanted cooked or raw, I asked for raw thinking it was going to be like Aguachiles. It was raw just exactly like they said. I didn't like it because of the slimy texture. Wasn't my cup of tea. Management should come up with a better game plan for game days to make sure everyone gets the best service. Won't be going back. read more

I loved the aguachile as it was flavored just right and was so refreshing and any plate with their grilled octopus was delicious too. Just remember this is a seafood spot so do not order the steak which me and another coworker did - it lacked flavor, was overcooked (I asked for medium rare), and was lacking overall. I typically wait a few days, sometimes even a few week to review a location, but I had to write one after today's visit. Spotted this restaurant earlier this week driving by. Husband and I were in the mood for mariscos so we decided to check this place out. It's surprisingly spacious, with a stage and enormous screen playing music videos of modern to old-school banda and similar 90s music. Our server Javi was great, attentive, and hooked us up with the Thursday drink special, Palomas. We went all in on the seafood. Husband ordered the mango habanero aguachiles, I got the mango ceviche, and our son the kids quesadilla. The taste... oh man. The mango ceviche might be the best I've had. There was one other spot that had ceviche similar in taste, but shut down, unfortunately. It was perfectly balanced with that sweet and spicy/tangy kick, not the usual bitter taste. My husband's mango habanero aguachiles had some serious flavor. We literally joked, "El Pescador who?" Ridiculously delicious. Very spacious and good ambiance, they had live band playing banda and singing. They have a lot of sushi options, got the El Chapo and it was fried and had asada in it and was decent 7/10. . First, the good: the food is REALLY good. I've tried several dishes so far and everything has been delicious. The standout for me was the Camarones Tamarindo. You HAVE to try those. The sauce is sweet like tamarindo, almost mole style, but with a nice spicy kick at the end that brings everything together perfectly. It's flavorful, bold, and different from what you usually get. Recommended !! Another favorite was the Camarones Nayarit. The garlic, the spices , just packed with flavor. We were a group of six and we all agreed these shrimp were next level. Definitely one of the best shrimp dishes I've had in a while. The banda is also really good. They're playing regardless, but if you want to request a specific song, it's $25 per request. Not mandatory, just an option if you want something special played. It adds a fun vibe to the place. Service has been great for the most part. Staff is attentive and they serve you well. Prices are on the higher end, but fair for what you get , especially considering the quality and portions. Now, a few things that could improve: The music acoustics could be better. There's a bit of an echo , maybe it's the speakers or the layout, but the sound could use some adjustment. The lighting is also very bright. It would feel more comfortable and relaxed if it were a little dimmer. Adding some greenery or planters would also help make the space feel warmer and less wide open. Overall, it's a great spot and a solid hangout place. It's still a little empty since it's new, but I really hope it makes it because the food deserves the support. Visited on a Friday night and the place was a vibe. They had a Banda playing with the Dodger vs Padres game up on the screen. It was little loud, so we did miss bits and pieces of our conversations. We also had to be really loud to place our order, to ensure we would be given the correct items. I will say that our waiter was fun, friendly and attentive. We ordered a few dishes to share and we were not disappointed with the flavors. Their salsas were tasty too. The tamarindo margaritas were very refreshing and not watered down. They have outdoor and indoor seating; with the indoor being quite large and they even have a stage with a huge screen and instruments for live music. Our waitress was very attentive and nice. We were brought chips and salsa as well as complementary consome de camarón which was soooo delicious. We ordered a variety of dishes: aguachiles verdes, camarones cucaracha, camarones Nayarit, torre el capitán, el pancho roll, and a coco especial. Everything was delicious and cooked very well. The sauces they use complement the seafood so nicely as well. To end the meal we tried their flan which was really good, density was nice and it wasn't overly sweet. It was a great meal! Only thing I will criticize is that towards the end of our meal the musicians started playing the live music and loud doesn't even begin to cover the volume of their playing. The food was good, and everything was fine until I checked my bank statement. I noticed that the amount charged was different from the total on my bill. It appears that the waitress changed the amount of the tip!! and I was charged more than I was supposed to pay. Our server was kind, attentive and helpful (especially with the big menu). Music was a bit loud for being nearly empty on a Tuesday evening. Made conversation difficult at times. Only thing we found very off putting and unsettling was upon entering, and during the time we were there, a very noticeable smell of "restroom waste basket," if you know what I mean. One would think that with all the seafood on the menu, a "fishy" or "ocean" aroma might permeate the air...and not sewage. Could've been an off night.
