This place is decent. The flavors are good but wow the prices are crazy. I got 4 tacos and 2 horchatas for about 30 dollars...and two of those tacos were veg so that's saying something. They give you like 5 tortilla chips with your food, but you have to ask for them. Service was fast and very pleasant. Overall pretty mid.

We dropped in Saturday around 7pm and it wasn't that busy. We ordered a bunch of burritos to-go to bring home to eat. We tried cabeza, lengua, tripa, and buche. Everything was good and tender. Tripa was crispy. Casual place with its own parking lot.

2.5 Everything was just ok. I ordered a burrito with some chips and salsa and a canned soda(The sodas are all canned (already off to a not so good start). The chips and salsa are given right away and the salsa just didn't really taste like anything. Just wet. Same with the chips just cruchy nothingness. The super burrito was a good size and the carne asada was very tasty but it was almost like eating 2 different burritos when I got to the second half. The first half was almost all meat and cheese and the second half was everything mixed in and also where the problem lies. I very much hate onions and I asked for no onions when I ordered. The second half was full of chopped onions to the point where I couldn't even eat it anymore. It was so many onions. If I go back I will definitely not be ordering a burrito.

I treated a couple of friends to dinner and we were planning on trying some tacos at a stand on N L Street but they weren't open. I noticed El Chaparrito had a pretty good rating and they were our Plan B in the event the taco stand was not open so off we went. It was all our first time dining at El Chaparrito. I ordered enchiladas with chile verde and green sauce, my Buddy had the Alambre and a beer, his wife had a chicken tostada with extra sour cream and a Michelada (beer, tomato juice, seasoning and two large shrimp). The meals come with chips and sauces. The hit for the night was the Michelada, my friend's wife gave it a solid 5. She said all of the ingredients were spot on with great flavor and the shrimp were fresh. Sadly she thought her chicken tostada was very bland and gave it 2.5 stars or overall 3.75 stars for her meal. The flavor from my enchiladas came from the sauce so it didn't have a nice blended overall total flavor. I liked the rice and beans that came with my enchiladas. My friend said his Alambre was dry. The Chips didn't have a lot of flavor but the sauces were good. On the way out they had rolled out a taco wagon after we arrived serving Al Pastor and Carne Asada that smelled really good. We plan to go back and try the street tacos that they serve outside at night. Give this restaurant a try and sharing your thoughts.

The food was so authentic, and I liked their sign that said this is not a fast food restaurant, everything is made fresh from scratch. Great value and service. We tried the tacos, best corn tamale, and birria de chivo.

I haven't had a good taco spot in ages. What drives me to this restaurant is the authenticity and freshness of their food which is something you don't really get nowadays despite prices going up. I usually get this doordashed to me since it's far from me but this time I decided to dine inside the restaurant, and it's even better of course. I wish this restaurant wasn't out of the way otherwise I'd be there every Tuesday (they have an amazing deal on Taco Tuesday)!

Seemed like the entire Livermore police was on their lunch break when I arrived, must be a good sign. The gringa and queso birria tacos were good. The cheese they use is very stringy and good. Almost cartoonishly stringy. The tacos from the stand in front left more to desire. Food is better ordering inside.

Is outdoor dining open or do you just have to order to go?

    Hi, outdoor and to go

I see a post showing they have tacos de canasta on Saturdays. The post was from a year ago. Do they still have this special?

Hi, good question but at the moment we are not making tacos De Canasta anymore, thanks so much for asking though have a blessed day

As our organizer mentioned, they were fully booked that night so do reserve early. Warm earthy tones in the decor made for a comfortable, inviting atmosphere and the light jazz ensemble and lovely vocal performances elevated the evening's experience. The ambiance is a strong point. Being a paella newbie, I definitely looked forward to tasting a version especially after watching cooking shows over the years. The saffron broth rice nicely counterbalanced the seasoned shrimp, sausage and other ingredients. Thumbs up. I had several portions. The tempura cauliflower - good. KR Enchiladas were cheesey and rich, plumply filled, and the accompanied rice accented with corn. Since we shared the three enchiladas, my small piece was enough for me. Suggest passing on the sourdough side that came with the paella. The bread had melted, but cooled cheese on it and there was not much free broth in the paella to soak therewith anyway. With water being the group's primary beverage, perhaps request a carafe of water at the table to ease the thirstier folks (me). Our wait person gave helpful suggestions and efficient service. The rest of the staff had hustle. As normal with live music, be prepared to raise your voice and repeat yourself in conversations. Parking is ample, with a short walk, in this Nob Hill Foods shopping center.

I went to Cinco's Taco Bar in Livermore and it was SO good! I ordered a crunchy taco with carnitas, rice, and cheese. The taco shell felt hard but also super crunchy, which I really liked. One - when I walked in I'm not sure if the person that was working there was speaking to her friend or family member but it seems like I interrupted their conversation so it took several minutes for me to make my order(I actually almost left) but I proceeded to place part one of my order which was a dutch crunch burrito with the brisket meat. This was not bad tasting at all when I got back to try everything after shopping nearby. However the carnitas burrito was terrible. I'm not sure what happened. I took two bites and it just wasn't good at all. I was highly disappointed. I appreciated that they give me free chips and salsas but even the salsas weren't that great...not really spicy for "habanero" and the others just seemed watered down as do most Mexican restaurants. So for 32$ I was totally let down and I really dislike spending money on food that I don't like and then I need to spend more money getting food because I'm still hungry. I'm happy that I at least tried the place but now I can see why there was only 2 other diners in the afternoon/early evening. I guess my quest for good Mexican food in this city will continue. I don't think I can recommend or return to this establishment anytime soon.

After 10 minutes, I picked up my to go order on a paper plate with tin foil which made me chuckle. The fish taco was very good- great flavor, tender fish perfectly cooked. I'd rate it a 5/5. The shrimp taco was much smaller which was odd, but the flavor was also very good. The photo reflects a pretty small taco- and it definitely wasn't worth the price. 2/5 for the price. I would go again for fish tacos if I wanted food to go with no frill.

Yea I know its a little late but the place had quite a few people in the dining and bar area for a saturday night. I know for myself if we're eating close to closing, I leave a good tip bc I appreciate their service when its close to closing time. We waited at the front hostess area for 2 to 3 min before anyone came out. 3 employees walked by us and said nothing as they saw us standing there waiting to be seated. Finally we got seated and our waitress came to ask us if we wanted drinks and we ordered at 9:17p. We received our food at exactly 9:30p which I thought was amazing timing and it looked okay. But.... as the waitress gave us our food, she placed my husband's fajita plate down then walked around the table towards me. As she was doing that, she slid the tortila holder across the table and it hit my husbands dinner plate.. she said nothing and I thought that was so rude. She placed my food down and then asked "do you guys want anthing bc the bar is closing and they wont make you anything after they close!" I said "we're fine." Again, we get it you guys are closing but come on. My husband asked her if he could get a refill on some salsa.. she yanked the salsa from the table and went to fill it. Returned with it and slid it across the table a couple inches and walked away. Groups of people started to leave the dining area and head home and before we knew it we were the only ones there. As we were eating, I could see the waitress sitting by the wall with her arms crossed looking at us and around the room. It made us uncomfortable and I could tell she was so irritated.. it was 9:40. The other employees were cleaning the tables and placing chairs on tables around us to clean the floors Before long, we couldn't take it. I was just annoyed so we asked for to-go boxes. She got us our boxes and a bag to carry the boxes. We felt SO rushed and really annoyed. Yea you close at 9:30 but you're still making money at the end of the day. We paid at the end and gave her a low tip. I was prepared to give her wayy more but I couldnt. Her attitude was something else. I feel like the restaurant has gone down and its unfortunate. The food was okay and I don't think we'll be back. It's a shame bc I really liked this location and building. I don't know what her name was but she was around 5 foot 1-2 inches tall, mid 40s, short black hair with a purple tint to it, and she wore a silver butterfly ring on her right ring finger. As we walked out, the feeling we got was that we were holding EVERYONE UP so they couldn't close up. But as we walked to the car, we saw several people still sitting in the bar area.. eating.. drinking.. etc. 11 people to be exact. So what was the rush...
