We had the carnitas super burrito and the taco plate with al pastor and chorizo tacos. Yummy! My carnitas burrito was huge! And delicious - meat was tender, and the fillings were equally distributed along the length of the burrito (pet peeve of mine when the ingredients are clumped on one end of the burrito!). Thr tortilla has a nice crust from being grilled. The tacos has good flavor. Chorizo was spicy without being overly hot. Pastor meat was excellent. Good place for a filling meal! In a strip mall with Wendy's, Starbucks, Subway, etc. it's close to work. This is solid taqueria style Mexican food. I was hoping it would be amazing since the place is always busy and there's usually a line of to go orders during lunchtime. It's not bad but it's not great either. It's a walk-up counter with lots of seating. I've had their nachos, which are huge, chili verde taco is good and my favorite so far has been their tamales. Their cheese enchiladas are on the underwhelming side with sauce that tasted like tomato sauce and priced at $17 seemed steep. Prices are more pricey but nowadays that's everywhere! The tamales are moist, masa tender and came with no sauce. I asked for a side of green salsa. I was happy to find their rice and beans are good. You have to pay for the chips & salsa. If you're not a sour cream fan, be sure to ask them for no sour cream as they're very generous with the creama. read more

I've been coming here for years. It started off getting dollar tacos on Sunday after a hard day riding dirt at Carnegie. And my family calls it "Dollar Taco" even though we don't ride anymore and the tacos aren't a dollar. But we come back for consistently good food. Friendly counter staff, and you can see the cooks preparing the food. We do take out, although there are plenty of tables. Casual atmosphere, seems to be able to take your time, no one is rushing you out the door. The rice and beans portions are slightly smaller than in previous years, but I believe that's the case for most restaurants. This little place off vasco definitely is a good stop for some quick food. I work down the street and always wanted to try it so I figured I would and order a super burrito. I wanted chips and salsa as well (that they charge you for) and the total was $20. I'm not a snob and I'll pay for food if it's worth it but $20 for a burrito and chips $ salsa from here is a little much. The burrito was good and big but I'd say the combo was worth about maybe $15. The meat was seasoned well and it was a good size but it wasn't worth the price to me. Especially when I didn't get my chips. I placed an order through DoorDash for two burritos, but I needed to update it to one. I called the restaurant right away, and the woman on the phone told me they could update the quantity. When I went to pick up the order, I asked if I would be receiving a refund for the second burrito, and her response was basically, "I don't know." If she didn't know, then why tell me the quantity could be changed in the first place?I'd rather get both of my burritos that I paid for. I was running out of my lunch time so I could not wait for the 2nd burrito. On top of that, DoorDash is now saying they can't issue a refund. So I ended up paying full price for only half my order. This was frustrating and unprofessional from both the store. I shouldn't have to chase down what I've already paid for. This is a hidden gem. The parking lot is small, but it's worth a little walk. I ordered the Chile Rellenos and was pleasantly surprised. It was cooked well and had a great cheese blend. Be warned, the chiles are HUGE! One would have been plenty... I ordered two because most places serve them smaller. I couldn't stop eating because they were delicious. I've been here a dozen times, mostly because I live off S. Vasco and it is the closest taqueria to me. I always order tacos, usually a variety meats. I have no particular favorite meat here, but all are average - no complaints. Sometimes I get free chips and salsa when I order takeout, other times they tell me there's a charge. I would appreciate more consistency. I generally walk-in and walk out if the restaurant is half full. Their service is extremely slow. If I am the only customer in line, no problem, I'll order. Tequila's taqueria is just down the road and I would recommend them over Consuelo. read more

Three friends and I came in for tacos after a day of wine tasting. My two friends got their orders and my 2 fish tacos came 15 mins later? Service is horrible!! I asked if he could bring us water and he brought one glass of water. Really?! That's what I get for tipping up front. Also it's really hot in there! No A/C. Feels like Mexico forreal. We love this taqueria - an authentic little slice of Mexico dropped right into our back yard! My favorite is the fully loaded breakfast burrito - with chorizo & eggs & veggies & cheese and just the right amount of seasoning. The girls prefer less spicy fare (like the cheese quesadilla). I also love all the little touches of Mexico everywhere - the little ice cream station, soccer on TV - and that they have an open kitchen area. Lunchtime gets rather busy with lots of workers making a beeline for the place. The parking area is adequate, but shared with a Starbucks, a Subway, a Thai restaurant and a couple of other businesses, so you may need to drive around a bit to find a spot. read more
