Food is about Average... but the service is terrible. Waiting 15 mins to have order taken.. and been here an hour without our food.

I have been eating here for over 2 years and has been our favorite Mexican spot. We went with a large group of neighbors, all of us are (or were) regulars. We had what was likely the worst dining experience of our lives! After a 1 hour wait, the waitress took 10 minutes to take our drink orders and did manage to bring adult beverages but we had to go to the bar to get soft drinks for the kids. We ordered cheese dip all the way around but we did not have chips so we watched as it cooled until we finally went to the hostess and asked for help. Meals finally showed up after a 30 minute wait except for 5 of us who never received or meal. I asked for the manager and he took 10 minutes to show up! No one received a drink refill and the restaurant staff did their best not to make eye contact as they walked by. The waitress never apologized or asked for help - they brought us our meal as we were walking out the door - they comped the meal but I did get to pay for my one beer and some cold cheese dip.... Can't go wrong with El Cerro. I have my same favorites that I get every time, which is either the cowboy chimichanga if I skipped lunch because it's huge or I get enchiladas supreme. The staff is always friendly and fast and the food is always fresh. Cheese dip is a must. read more

My family 4 had dinner at El Cerro Grande and most of the food was a dissappointment. Kids meals looked terrible. Looks like they used frozen food for chicken fingers and the kids pizza did not look appetizing. Kids meals should not make a restaurant but this was not a good start. I ordered enchilada (cheese, beef and chicken) The cheese and chicken were OK but the beef was terrible. Taco Bell's beef is better. Same goes for the side beef taco one of my children had. My wife had shrimp and was just not good. The side of rice was ok and the nacho chips and sals were ok. Overall I would not recommend eating here but if you do stay away from the ground beef. read more

I used to love this restaurant. The decor is great and employees are always nice. Except for the little short guy that walks around seems like a manager he walks around doing nothing. Likes to walk in front of women. Very rude. But everyone else is nice and hard working. They changed there menu everything is expensive. And the food isn't the same. Loved the chips and salsa as always. But I couldn't eat my food the quality wasn't there. 2 meals with water $50. It's sad cause the restaurant is beautiful and my server was great. read more

I don't write a negative reviews often, but here goes one. Seated just after 5PM. The chips were not fresh and probably from the previous meal or day. When the food arrived the plates were very hot, but the food was just kind of warm. We didn't have silverware. I asked guy that delivered the food for silverware. He said he would get some, and I never saw him again. I hadn't seen our waitress is some time. I asked another waiter on the floor for some silverware. He went to get our waitress to bring the silverware instead of just getting us some. We finally had silverware. Food was just acceptable. No paper towels in the restrooms (plenty of used ones on the floor). I just deserve more for $15 a person. read more

Cute place reminds me of our on the border RESTAURANT in NJ. Appetizers we got the guacamole and cheese dip(queso) both were good! drinks are reasonably priced $3.00/$4.00 bottles beer not sure about margaritas,but I didn't see anything for more than $5 which is awesome. Both my boyfriend and I got fajitas they were good just make sure you order shredded cheese bc it doesn't come with it ? Idk why but if you ask for extra they give you a HUGE bowl which was amazing ! Went for the first time while visiting Surfside Beach. Service was great, chips and salsa fresh, food was very good. My uncle said the chili relleno was best he had ever had. read more

As I am not a fan of the "Myrtle Beach Experience", our first visit was on 2/7/17. Reviews were mixed, but we gave it a try. Wow! Service was great, food fresh and topnotch. Worst service I have ever had EVER. Slow service, waiter dropped paper in my food and picked it out with is hand, spilled food all over my friends cloths, had to ask multiple times for items. When I complained to manager about the poor service, manager just got the waiter and told me to tell him. Then when the waiter came back with my check he slammed it down on the table and threw a pen at my face and walked off. Manager just happened to walk up when it happened and said he didn't throw it at your face, he threw it at your chest. Manager just continued to defend waiter. I told them I would never come back and walked out. I could not believe what had just happened. By the way, I was the sixth person to complain about the service while I was there. OMG this was the worst. Waited 10 minutes plus with no acknowledgement we were even there by the staff even when they looked at us in the eye. We finally get seated by the hostess and told her we were about to leave since no one had been over and she said "oh ok"... We get to our table and wait another 10 minutes and no one ever came so we got up and left. No one tried to stop us or even ask. Do not set foot into this establishment. Go to Fiesta Mexicana down the road. They were fabulous!! read more

We have been looking for a good Mexican place near Murrells Inlet and I think we found it. Chimichanga was very tasty and the taco salad was very good, including the shell. Hand made margaritas were amazing! We are definitely coming back. read more

Used to eat here twice a week. Two weeks after telling me and my fiance that we could hold our rehearsal dinner for about 30 people in their large new dining room, they renigged on us. Told me that they were too busy. I said why did you tell me that we could two weeks ago. Now we have to find another place and reprint invitations. Wouldn't go back there if my life depended on it! read more
