    Aguachiles

We had their aguachiles and fish tacos. The aguachiles was so fresh and delicious! The tostada shells they gave were fried perfectly. The fish taco batter was fresh, light, airy, and had a great crunch. They have chipotle sauce in the fridge to add on top and it's not too spicy. Great service and clean tables too. Would come here again.

By far the best truck in San Diego! Been looking for the best fish taco! This is the one! Best! Sauces! Best fish! Best Mexican! Love this truck! Could eat every day!

I live near this place and severely regret not going sooner! The food is fresh, prepared quickly and with a smile. Authentic Mexican mariscos and tacos are hard to find but this place does it so well it might be better than my mom's. No but seriously, if you are in the area you have to stop by and order something because everything is absolutely delicious. My top recommendations are the Aguachiles and Baja Shrimp tacos.

Well, what a convenient surprise finding this taco truck right next to a smog check center on Grand Ave, PACIFIC BEACH. Parking if you're lucky. I'm not local so maybe you will know where to park. Friendly service. Quite an extensive menu, including adobada tacos, burritos and sea food choices. I think it's worth checking out. They seemed to have regular customers. Covered seating and hand sanitizer available. The adobada taco was six dollars at this time~ July 2025, which was a bit pricey. However, I did need a fork to eat most of it before I could pick it up. The fresh lime brightened the taco perfectly. I would request cilantro next time. It was substantial with plenty of meat on two yellow corn tortillas and spicy goodness in the flavor department. No slack on the seasoning here. Lots of finely diced tomatoes, and a guacamole sauce.. I'd probably give it five stars if I've tried a few more items. This seems like a hot spot for a quick seafood tacos, burritos and etc.

It doesn't look like the best ceviche if you are just driving by, STOP! TRY IT

This is a great find. I had Pollo nachos and they were great. My husband had the Crazy Ceviche. It was amazing. It is served in a big, chilled bowl with tortilla chips. He ate the whole serving. The serving size is impressive. The service is very friendly. We asked for suggestions and guy was very helpful. The food truck is an a smog check parking lot.... not great ambiance, but the food is worth a few minutes in the parking lot. Try it!!

What a fun little find! If you're dubious about ordering seafood from a food truck - don't be! The menu is diverse, offering cooked as well as fresh options in all combinations of seafood, and the portions are so generous. I ordered the mixed ceviche, and was particularly impressed with the tenderness of the octopus, which I usually find tough and chewy. The flavors are well-melded and refreshing, and a splash of hot sauce really does the trick. We also ordered the Saturday Daily Special, which is a 24 oz cocktail, and chose the Campechano. Unfortunately, it seems the daily special version does not come with an oyster on the shell, which was one of our main reasons for checking out the business. However, the cocktail was very good. As someone who had never tried one before, I was interested in the distinct clamato flavor and enjoyed dipping the crackers in the liquid. This dish also came with a wider variety of seafood, including scallops, but we suspect a couple other ingredients (like the oyster) may have been omitted for the daily special. I do wish that the tostadas and chips were higher quality, as I found them to be somewhat stale, and neither the ceviche nor the cocktail can be eaten without these. Overall, it's a fun, casual place to fill up on a good bite if you're in the area!

**February 2024: Sunday Afternoon** My friend and I were on the hunt for some delicious Mexican food as one of my favorite trucks was no longer around. Given the high reviews I had high hopes that this would be a good replacement and I can confidently say yes! The truck is located in the same parking lot as a gas station and there's a tent covering a small seating area in front of the truck. It's a very casual setting, but perfect to My friend and I contemplating on a number of items, and ate the following. Shrimp/Octopus Ceviche ($21 - big sharing plate/ ideal of 2 people): This was a fantastic, refreshing, and generous item to share. My friend and I were only able to eat half of it (We took the remainder home to eat for dinner). The chef asked if we wanted the shrimp prepared in lime or boiled and we selected the former - IMHO it's definitely the way to go. The dish comes with a half avocado, limes, cucumber, onions, tomatoes etc as well as firm tostados to scoop up the ceviche to enjoy. Octopus Taco ($8): Regular. I want to say it was prepared with a garlic sauce and I really liked this octopus. It had a nice firm texture that wasn't rubbery, and worked well with all the taco ingredients. Soup: The owner gave out a complimentary seafood soup while we waited for our items. It came out pippin hot and was very flavorful It has a little bit of a kick, but that didn't stop my friend from devouring it. Summary: Overall I really enjoyed my experience here and would be happy to come back and try more!

Spicy octopus taco, Ensenada style shrimp tacos, Ensenada style fish tacos and aguachile spicy level 7
    Antonio E.

Incredibly flavorful, fresh and delicious food. The tacos were big in size and flavor. The aguachile was spicy just how I like it and it just hit the spot after a hot day walking around. The service is incredibly friendly and they were incredibly attentive. I wish I didn't live so far away so I can come back here over and over again.

Best spicy octopus and shrimp tacos in town!! Definitely coming back!!! Clean and good vibes

Tuesday taco special 7.99 and aguaschiles
    Nadia K.

I was excited to try this place because surfers I met out in the water gave their tuesday special rave reviews. It was just okay... +making fish tacos accessible to the PB area +hot sauce options +nice presentation +my friends and I easily fit at one of the picnic tables, well lit at night -took 25+ minutes for my order -were out of napkins, had to ask twice -the fried fish itself was a bitter, not sure if it's the oil or the batter -$20+ for my aguaschiles ceviche, might as well go to a sit down restaurant like karina's. It was mostly cucumber and onion. Overall it's fine but I'm not going out of my way to come back

I ordered the clam chowder. I loves me some clam. Nothing's better than a fresh, clean clam for you to eat! I also ordered the crab cakes and calamari. The crab cakes came with a delicious sauce, and you could tell they were made with real crab, not imitation. The calamari was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. For my entrées, I ordered the halibut and chips and the ahi smash burger. The halibut was juicy and thick. I'm talking Mexican booty thick. My jaw was on the floor staring at that fish. The batter was crispy, the fish stayed moist, the fries were fresh, and the portion was huge. The ahi smash burger is amazing! It was so big I almost slapped it on the butt and said, "Good girl." The first bite was like the first time I stared into Zac Efron's eyes. The world stopped, and I heard angels singing. A truly amazing experience. I also ordered a margarita. Cheers to the bartender, because that baby was strong and tasted exactly how a margarita should. Overall, this joint is dope. I highly recommend giving it a try if you get the chance because it exceeded my expectations for a seafood restaurant. The prices are very reasonable, the service is outstanding, and the food is beyond dope. The Fishery sets the standard for a coastal seafood experience.

What used to be a place we genuinely enjoyed has become run-down, dirty, and disappointing, with noticeably diminished food quality and increasingly terrible service. Tonight's experience was the final straw. We were seated in the bar area for open seating. We waited 12 minutes before my husband finally went to the bar to ask for a server. The bartender said he would send someone over. Another 10 minutes passed, and still no one acknowledged us. We eventually went back to the bar and placed our drink and food order ourselves. It took another 12 minutes for the server to bring our drinks. In the meantime, I had to go to the bar myself to get water and napkins for our table. Our server walked past us at least 10 times without acknowledging us. From the time we were seated until we received our drinks was approximately 47 minutes. It then took 1 hour and 5 minutes to receive our very simple food orders. And unfortunately, the food was mediocre at best. What made the experience even worse was the complete lack of attentiveness or apology from our server. There was no acknowledgment of the excessive wait, no effort to make things right, and no sense that our experience mattered. We felt essentially invisible. After more than 20 years of supporting this restaurant, it is incredibly disappointing to see how far it has fallen. The condition of the restaurant, the decline in food quality, and especially the service are simply not what they should be. Save your time and your hard-earned money. If you're in the area, go across the street to the Catamaran instead. You'll be treated like valued customers and, in our experience, receive much better-quality food and far more timely service.
