Shrimp Burrito Regular, Two Items Combinations (enchiladas, sope gordo carne asada), guacamole and chips Food
    Cynthia D.

Ordered on the phone for pickup. Ordered: - shrimp burrito with refried beans, no burrito sauce on top - combo plate with 1 chicken enchilada and sope gordo carne asada - guacamole with chips - horchata - tamarindo Food was very very good!! Worth the price in my opinion! You get a lot! We got to our spot and opened the bags to 4 bags of chips, a hefty container of guacamole and perfectly foil wrapped burrito plate and combo plate!

Loved everything about this restaurant! I didn't know Sebastopol had it like this! HA! I was tardy to the party! I HIGHLY recommend for authentic delicious Mexican food! The service is very friendly and welcoming. They make you feel like family. It's large and beautiful inside, good for a large party, I would totally want my birthday dinner here! lovely pictures on the wall , the chairs and tables all beautiful! I love the aesthetic. Felt like I was fine dining in Mexico, (mind you I never been to Mexico) (lol) Food was sooo good!!! The menu is great, many things to choose from. I ordered the 1 item combo plate w/shredded chicken, green enchilada that came with rice and beans. Tasted so fresh!! My first bite literally warmed my soul!! Also, complimentary chips w/ refried bean dip & 2 different salas was yummmy! My friend got the chicken tortilla soup (it's huge) and said this is what you call real soup! was the best she ever had!! The broth was bursting with flavor and it was full of veggies. They gave us a little dessert. Not sure what it was called but it was delicious!! I WILL BE BACK!!!

A Delicious Detour in Sebastopol While on a day trip north of San Francisco, we took a detour into Sebastopol for lunch. El Coronel was right there, and it looked like a good option because we had our little puppy with us. It was a beautiful afternoon, and they had outdoor seating available. El Coronel Mexican Restaurant was founded by Armando Coronel in 2002 and has been a part of Sebastopol's culinary scene since then. It has been a family-run operation for over two decades and serves tasty Mexican cuisine. El Coronel is known for their sizzling fajitas, delicious combinations, flavorful tacos, and burritos. They have a beautiful patio with a complete outdoor bar. The interior is beautifully designed and looks comfortable for individuals and small and larger groups. We started with an order of Guacamole, their House Margarita, and Hibiscus Tea. The Guacamole was freshly made, and there was plenty of it! We enjoyed the combination of fresh guacamole and chips. The drinks were good, too. We decided to share a Parrillada (which means Grilled in English) for the main dish. There was plenty of food. The meats (Beef, Pork, and Chicken) were all fresh, done right, and flavorful. It came with a plate of rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream, and fresh tortillas. I could not leave without trying their flan and was very happy I didn't! It was one of the better flans I have had in a while. The staff was very attentive and friendly. A gentleman, who I think may have been the owner or manager, stopped by our table and asked how we were doing. He was very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our experience, and as we left, I made a mental note to come back and try their Molcajete! It looked very good!

The servers greeted me with a smile and told me to seat myself. The ambiance is great, with Mexican music and beautiful, colorful decor. The food was served within 10-15 minutes and it was HUGE! I did not expect it to be so piled high! It was fresh food with delicious carne asada. Definitely, will be back to try other dishes.

I had dinner with friends and we all thought our dishes were delicious! I ordered the Shrimp Taco Salad, my friends ordered the Beef Carnitas, Luis' Special, and Tortilla Soup. They were so kind to treat us to Cheesy Tortilla Chips for an appetizer and Sopapillas for dessert!!

We were quickly seated and the service was friendly. We sat on the patio to enjoy the warm evening. Decor in multiple zones all seemed nice. We had a margarita received some nice thin and crispy chips with some fire roasted salsa while we reviewed the menu. We started with the kale and citrus salad which was amazing and abundant. We really liked the grapefruit! We followed that with the steak fajitas, which were also enjoyed, though at $49 for a serving for one we felt they were pretty overpriced. Overall not too bad, though I would say the pricing is pretty high for what you get, though the quality is good, the value probably not so much, but it it a great location, so there is likely some tourist tax built into the menu.

The food is good. The restaurant is nice. Usually, the customer service is great. Today is Sonoma Pride, and I thought I might cut them some slack. We've eaten here the previous 2 Sonoma Prides, and it had become a favorite. Today, we're a table of two as usual. It was busy like usual so we expected a delay. We were seated immediately. We watched people go. We watched employees (including the greeter who seated us) watching us look around for service after sitting in the sun for 20 minutes. No chips. No water. No, "We'll be right with you." We watched them seat a party of 4 after waiting for about 30 minutes. We watched them greet that party of 4 and take their drink orders within 2 minutes of being seated right next to us. That was it. We calmly walked to the front to calmly speak to the greeter who seated us and even looked at us a couple of times while we were seated. We explained why we were leaving. She talked over us defensively with hands raised saying, "I'm not a server." I hope they can do better after this review because they just lost loyal customers. We ended up going to a small local Puerto Rican restaurant that was equally busy. I will rate them shortly as they are now the new favorite. Customer service is golden, La Rosa. Not worth compromising.

We sat in the back patio, and my wife ordered a Sangria, and I just had water. The Sangria was tasty and just a hint of sweetness that I liked, but my wife wasn't as big a fan. She likes sour more than sweet. She ordered the Chili Relleno, and I ordered their special Relleno De Picadillo with Mild Poblano pepper stuffed with ground chuck, ground pork, sweet peas, carrots, potatoes, almonds, cranberries, a touch of chipotle and red wine, covered with our creamy ranchera sauce and Jack cheese. We have always liked their standard Chili Relleno, and today was no exception. It tasted fresh with lots of gooey cheese. My Relleno De Picadillo was sweeter than I thought. Then I re-read the ingredients and duh, sweet peas, carrot and cranberries. I liked it, but would have to be in the mood for a sweet Chili Relleno. It tastes similar to our stuffed bell peppers, which we sometimes do at home. It was large and tasty, but you have to be in the mindset of a little sweeter and not savoury. The salad, beans and rice were good. I love the back patio, fresh air and decorations.

As soon as we got out of the car, we remembered that we had been there over seven years ago! It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside, and this time, we didn't order a large meal. We started with a well-made guacamole, each of us had a couple of tacos, and we washed them down with a few glasses of Agua de Jamaica (hibiscus flower tea). I had a Lingua and Carnitas Taco. Both were tasty and full of flavor. I finished with a Flan, which was amazing! It was soft and flavorful. The servers -- three ladies who took care of customers both inside and outside -- were fantastic and helped with all our questions. We really enjoyed our lunch. La Texanita was started in 2004 by Alma Mendez and her sister. They began with a taco truck, using recipes from their mother, before opening the restaurant. In 2009, the restaurant got national recognition when Guy Fieri featured it on Food Network's Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives, where he praised their tacos and pozole. I mentioned this in my original review, but today I noticed that the link was no longer working. When you're ready to pay, the portable payment terminal shows only the final total, without an itemized breakdown of the charges. If you pay by credit card, a 3% processing fee is added. I have no issue with the fee itself. My problem is that the sales tax is calculated on the total after the fee is added. The credit card fee should have nothing to do with the tax amount. Additionally, the suggested tip amounts are also calculated based on the total that includes both the sales tax and the credit card fee. Most customers expect tip percentages to be based on the pre-tax cost of the food and drinks. As a result, you end up giving a lot higher tip than you intended to. Because the payment screen does not show an itemized bill, it's very difficult to verify the charges or calculate a custom tip unless you remember the exact prices of everything you ordered. I hate when a restaurant's billing practice isn't transparent to customers.
