After a long day at the Grand Canyon, we were exhausted and famished so we quickly chose a place for dinner. El Corral greeted us and quickly seated us. We immediately ordered an app - asada fries and it came out fast. 5/5 delicious. I ordered the fish tacos- comes with 2 for ~$14, or 3 for an additional $2 so why not. While you wait for the entree, they bring you a tomato soup and tortilla chips. It was such a huge disappointment biting into the fish taco and it was so fishy that I couldn't really taste anything else. Taking a few more bites, I was able to taste the chipotle sauce which is amazing. However, the fishy smell still threw me off. 1/5 My other group got the shrimp fajita(2/5 very bland) and a beef burrito(4/5 flavorful and packed with a lot of meat). All entrees come with a side of rice, retried beans and small scoop or guac. We also order a mango and a tamarind margarita on the rocks but they brought us blended. We were hungry and tired so we did not send it back. And like other reviews mentioned, I can confirm there were little to no alcohol. read more

The service was good, their margaritas very yummy but the food was atrocious. Cold, stale, no flavor and lack luster. I could whip a better Mexican meal with ingredients from my fridge in twenty minutes than what was served. It was hands down the he worst dining experience I've had in 16 years in America. If you are looking for she great Mexican food in Williams, AZ, then you need to stop here. They make their chips fresh out of the fryer and great salsa. I just a chili verdeplate and my husband got the carnitas plate about $13 each. There was a kids menu and they were able to get cheeseburgers and quesadillas I think for $6-7. The chili verde had a nice spice to it with tender pork. My husband's carnitas plate was also tasty. You can choose either corn or flour tortillas. They have beer available and even pitchers of maragarita available for purchase. As far as parking there is street which wasn't hard to find. Located on the historic route 66. This place is clean and lots of tables and chairs. Food took maybe 20-30 minutes to come out but I could they made food fresh. I would come back here again. read more

Convenient, tasty, Mexican food in the town of Williams. Rice and beans were well done. Just the right flavors, not salty, not burnt as some other places does it. We ordered Carne Asada and it was grilled perfectly. On this particular trip to Grand Canyon, another restaurant's Carne Asada was broiled instead. Didn't have the tenderness as this establishment. Where do I start. Mid-grade dog food, comes to mind, when NOT enjoying this sub par Mexican cuisine. It's absolutely setup for tourists, to over pay, for disgusting over priced food. They ration and over charge for everything. You have to pay for Costco chips and salsa @ $4.99 !! For 1 basket of chips. The shredded beef came from a can. The guacamole tastes like pouch, store bought guacamole, that was put into a used a gym sock as a pastry bag to squirt it on your plate. Stopped in again over Labor day weekend and the meal was just as wonderful as the first time. The only thing different is now that they charge you for OUTSTANDING homemade chips and salsa ($4). But it is worth it with a nice cold drink. The 3 Seafood Enchiladas were MARVELOUS with REAL CRAB (not fish flavored with Crab juice) in creamy cilantro sauce. Food was just ok. Margarita was clearly a mix and didn't seem like it contained alcohol at all. Real reason I won't be back though, is 100% because of the service. Ordered a burrito and asked the server if it contained pico because I don't like it. She said no pico is only on the side. I said ok just please no pico in the burrito, only cheese and meat. Burrito comes out with pico IN it. I tell her of the mistake and she told me I never said no pico. Never have I had that terrible of customer service. Also asked the server to split our check and she refused. I will absolutely not go back and I wouldn't advise anyone else to waste their time and money! read more

We are traveling and in Williams AZ tonight. We love good Mexican food and Ell Corral on 66 fits the bill. We started off not with chips and salsa, but with a fantastic soup. Nice touch. We judge a restaurant among other things by their rice and beans. We were not disappointed at El Carral. Excellent rice and beans and the carnitas too! A great smoked flavor in the pork just hit the spot. The cheese enchiladas were right on the mark. I may have a small appetite but they filled me up. They have a nice atmosphere with just a few TVs around. If you ever plan to motor west on route 66, you have to stop in Williams at El Corral. read more

We were sent here by another couple on vacation in Williams. I am not sure what went wrong, but our food was barely edible. The guacamole (approx $8.00) was nothing more than maybe one-half an avocado smeared with tomatoes and onion. There was no flavor, not even salt! The rice served with our meals did not represent that which I'm used to at other Mexican restaurants, it had a seafood under taste to it. Our margaritas were watery and contained zero alcohol!! This place is amazing! Our server Mario was attentive and friendly, he had a great suggestion on what drink to order. The man even brought us a sample of the house Sopa Fideo! The food was served quickly and was so good! I had the Carnitas plate and a Michelada and my beautiful girlfriend had the chicken enchiladas with a Cantarito. We dined in person, which was the first time in a year we have dined in ANYWHERE. Tables are spaced, staff is masked up and friendly. My husband had the huevos rancheros and I had the Pork Green Chile Enchiladas. Hands down, the best Pork Green Chili EVER. Definitely worth the stop if you're in town. read more

Located in the historic downtown of Williams, this restaurant has a very warm atmosphere. We loved th indoor layout and received top notch service while we were there! That being said, the food was just okay. I got a chicken burrito and the others in my party got chimichangas and fish tacos. The burritos were wrapped very sloppily making it very difficult to eat them. Also the chicken inside was chunks instead of shredded, and not the most flavorful. Some of the people in my party had dietary restrictions (unable To eat pork) and they weren't able to eat the retried beans for that reason. I would have to say the biggest let down for me was the guacamole, which had absolutely no taste :( Definitely would not return for guac, but would be open to trying other things on the menu if I was in Williams again, and wanted Mexican food. read more

Wanted to try some good Mexican food while in Williams. This was highly recommended by the front desk person from the Comfort Inn. I ordered the steak fajitas because I thought it should be a safe choice. It was just OK, but the presentation was far more disappointing for those of us who eat with our eyes first. It came on one plate, with the 3 corn tortillas wrapped in foil flopped on top of everything! If you want flour tortilla, you get one, or pay extra. So my food came semi-warm, not hot. Let's just say I had much better at the chain restaurant Chili's. My roommate had fish and shrimp tacos, and didn't like the fish ( probably tilapia) which was "off". Also, you should know that chips and salsa is not included, unlike most Mexican restaurants, especially if dinner plates starts at $14.99. (as of July 2022). Used Yelp's recommendations, and got screwed on this one. First of all, you walk in and the sign says wait to be seated. That's fine, but we waited at least five minutes before a waitress came and helped someone right next to where we were standing, and didn't even acknowledge us. Then my girlfriend say hello to the waitress and she said "we'll be with you in a minute." Then pointed to where we could sit. Next, the owner, I presume, came to wait on us. She was very business like. No smile. She stated that all their food was good. Not so true. Steak fajitas - bland. Soup - bland/watery. Tortillas - Hella good. Shredded taco meat - very good. Chicken tostada - pretty good. Green salsa had a lot of flavor. Service is why you go out - 1 Star Food is what you like to enjoy - 3 stars Overall - 2 stars A bit disappointed. This place is amazing!!! We were visiting Williams and really wanted a beer and breakfast so we kinda picked this place because of the beer sign out front. I'm glad we did. The food was so good and the wood work decor was great. My husband had a traditional American breakfast and loved it. I got tacos because I needed to try their salsa. The tacos came Al pastor and with tons of meat on them. The lovely waitress gave me red and green salsa and though I usually love red, I liked the green the most. This place is awesome! It's right on the main drag in town. The restaurant itself is one giant room and has a really interesting western Decour. Chips and salsa are $3.99, but well worth it! You get a heaping basket of fresh and thick tortilla chips. The salsa is delicious and has a little bit of a kick with chopped up jalapeños. I ordered the Chile Rellano meal. It comes with a side of rice and beans, and soup of the day. The soup was delicious! It was tomato-based broth with veggies and thin spaghetti type of noodles.The rice and beans were almost so really good. You can tell that the beans are homemade and cooked with a ham hock, as they have a very smoky meaty flavor. The rice is also very flavorful, which is unusual for a lot of restaurants. My chili Riano was amazing! It's huge as it's made with a poblano pepper. It's stuffed full of stringy white cheese , Covered with a light breading and smothered in their homemade red sauce. It Also has a bit of a kick. My husband ordered the soft chicken tacos which also came with all of the sides. He said they were really good, I liked the fact that the chicken was very lightly seasoned. It appears to be family run, and the service was impeccable. They were pretty busy but still got us our chips and food right away! If you are in town I would highly recommend this family owned restaurant. You will not be disappointed!! read more
