I've gone a few times now and had their Veggie Black Bean Patty Melt, Spicy Tuna Melt, and Pan Con Bistec and they've all been incredibly delicious! Soft warm bread that's perfectly toasted on the outside, amazing chipotle sauce, and flavorful fillings. When we flew into Seattle we were starving. We were driving to my moms in oak harbor and were trying to wait until we got there to eat. Living in Shoreline and reading great reviews, decided to skip the free samples at Costco and save my appetite for El Cubano. What a great surprise to me. The food here is wonderful. I have ordered first the El Cubano sandwich. The Eastern European in me cannot get enough of both roasted pork and ham in a sandwich. Add great toasted bread and cheese, incredibly good. Next trip, ordered the pork tamale based on reviews. Background, I do not like tamales. In my opinion, tamales have too much dough and scarce spice and meat. The tamales here integrate the spices in the dough, with generous pork filling, incredibly good. I really enjoyed these tamales, they changed a tamale adverse person to tamale lover. Pork, cornmeal and spices, a really tasty bite for 8.00 dollars Food is so good, I ordered two tamales, one Cubano and homemade bread pudding, so my daughter could try this great food. She loved the tamale and El Cubano sandwich and she is very picky . Incredible food and the bread pudding was so good. I wanted another dessert, but they were out. Reluctantly ordered bread pudding. Usually bread pudding is a dry slab of bread cubes and egg. I loved their luscious creamy venison of bread pudding. Wonderful food and great customer service. A personal shout out to the cook. You can observe him making the food for you as you wait. He is meticulous about keeping things clean and paying attention to ensuring your order is of high standards. I love the food here. I love the food here. Geo and Kim are wonderful people. This is actually their second location. They have another location called Geo's on Greenwood near Holman Rd. Both locations are excellent. Geo's is a full sized sit down restaurant with a big beautiful bar. El Cubano is a much smaller location geared more towards takeout. I highly recommend either for anyone looking for authentic Cuban fare made with love. read more

This place is the REAL DEAL! Without a doubt, the BEST CUBAN FOOD IN SEATTLE. PERIOD. It's a small menu, but hits all the right buttons. A Cuban sandwich worthy of Ybor City. The Pan Con Lechon is perfect. The roast pork tastes like it's been roasted all day in banana leaves with warm summer breezes around. The beans, rice and sweet plantains are Cuban comfort food. Wow, everything was amazing and perfectly seasoned. We ordered the pan con Lechon, fricassee de pollo, and the mango mousse cake and couldn't decide which was our favorite. The sandwich had the perfect balance or pork and olives. The olives were not very briny but add a nice contrast from the pork. The bread had a nice crunch on the outside but were soft in the middle. The chicken came with a spicy sauce that reminded me of at hot BBQ sauce because of the smoky sweet flavor profile. It was braised nicely and the moros were tasty too. I am very picky when it comes to rice dishes and it is easy to make a mistake when you are cooking rice and beans together. But man was this delicious. And what is not to like about a mango mousse? It had just a sliver of yellow cake at the bottom with a ton of mousse on top. It was only $5 but frankly should be priced at $7 or $8. Run, don't walk to this gem of a restaurant. Been once and got the classic Cubano size and flavor are just right and the two ladies in the front who I spoke with while waiting were great. If you want real food and real people I recommend coming here. A little tricky to get there but if you're going north on 99/aurora take a right on 200th and then your first right to the parking lot. great tasting cubans. a bit rich with what i suspect is pork belly rather than the traditional roast pork. My only complaint-- please learn how to cut them from corner to corner. for the last few orders, the sandwiches have been cut straight down the middle. which makes it nearly impossible to hold and keep together...unless maybe you make a better "press" read more

I was so excited to try this place out based on the 5 star reviews and being a lover of Cuban sandwiches. Expecting wow it was more meh for me. I got the traditional Cubana and while it was ok it was far from great. The thing I like about a Cubana is the combo of flavors the richness of the pork, the sweet/ salty of the ham, the tart acidic from the mustard and the sourness of the dill pickle all playing a different part in the symphony of flavors that is a really good Cubana. This was really just a one note sandwich. That being said the person taking the order couldn't have been nicer and I'll stop by again just to give it another try and update this review if I get a better experience. read more
