This was my first night getting El Cubano and I wish I would've known about it sooner!! I got their Steak and Garbanzo Bean salad with their house made Honey Mustard and it was absolutely delicious!! Very well seasoned food. The rice and beans are very flavorful! The chicken fricasse was a generous portion, tender, and had great sides. The Cuban sandwich wS also generous and well pressed. A restaurant named after a famous sandwich better be good, and El Cubano definitely delivers. Located in a small strip mall on Aurora (parking is in the back), El Cubano is to go only (it's the smallest little space with the nicest owners). They have a menu of sandwiches and plates, and I tried the classic cubano, which was superb. The combo or roast pork ham, cheese, mustard and pickles is heavenly, and with this version, you can taste all of the quality ingredients well. Delicious. You know they use quality ingredients when you can taste each one individually. I can taste the bread, I can taste the pickle, I can taste the meat, I can taste the cheese (I love that bread), and it all works together. My only small complaint is the pan con bistec. Their menu pic shows some pretty good sized french fries on the top, these were kind of small and on the bottom so they got a little mushy. For me that's kind of like the pickle, I like the crunch...and when they're soggy it doesn't really work for me. I'll stick with the classic Cubano con queso. read more

Is nobody going to mention how perfectly tasty the rice and black beans are?! Woooooo best I've ever had and I've been to plenty of Mexican places. It's more flavorful in terms of depth and I admit it, deliciously greasy. I like this place better than El Paseo in Greenlake. The lechon sandwich, ohhh heavenly. I would skip the olives as they overpower the pork. Cubano was super greasy but delicious with extra pickles and mustard added. Lady on the phone spoke perfect English on the phone. Ordering was a breeze. $5 dessert pie (coconut flan) was tasty too. I'm not a fan of coconut shreddings but my husband who likes coconut loved it. More like 4.5 stars. Let me start by saying El Cubano makes the best Cuban sandwich that I've had in forever. On the Classic Cubano, the bread to meat ratio is perfect. If you're not a heavy eater, one sandwich feeds two people. The potions are generous here. We thought the bread was amazing. After reading a previous review, it says they have their sandwich bread flown in from Tampa. If I have to complain, the pickles and mustard get a little drowned out. I recommend adding a little extra to bring more acid to this decadent and rich sandwich. And, I wish the ham was carving board, not deli style. But, my complaints are absurd. Online ordering was easy through their website. Sandwiches were ready for pickup before the stated time. Customer service was super friendly. Parking in the back. Price point is extremely fair at around $10 a sandwich. Would absolutely return. A must try spot. FYI: the picture taken is not of the classic Cubano, it is the Tampa Cubano. I love this place! The Cuban sandwich's are my all time favorite and the customer service is always amazing. I went in today after placing an order online. They advised their oven was broken but the owner was on her way to get a new one. I was frustrated but I knew it wasn't their fault. I waited for about 10 more minutes and they brought my food out to my car and were super apologetic. The owner actually came down to my car as well and apologized profusely. I preferred the pork sandwich but may ask for no olives next time. The steak sandwich was good and liked how there was two different sauces and potatoes in it. I had lunch from El Cubano last week and ordered the spicy tuna melt and house salad. The house salad was tasty, but underwhelming. The veggies were fresh and dressing was tangy, however the veggies weren't cut very well and looked like it was just thrown together. I barely got any chickpeas/pineapple and the tomato and green pepper pieces were so large it was difficult to eat. I definitely wish things were more bite sized and evenly portioned. The sandwich was much better in my opinion. The spicy tuna melt had the perfect amount of spice and great flavor! A little on a greasy side, but that was expected. It was also large so I was able to eat half for lunch and save the other half (love me some leftovers). Overall, El Cubano is a decent lunch spot if you're ever in the area. Hopefully I'll have an opportunity to try it again in the future. read more

I was in Edmonds to attend a show at the performing arts center and was staying in a local hotel. I had looked up El Cubano prior to arriving and I knew I had to try it and they were able to deliver to my hotel. I ordered the Tamal con Lechon and it was amazing! I'm a big fan of tamales and this one was so delicious and the pork was tender and juicy and beautifully seasoned. This was a large serving too, I had to finish it the next morning. Great customer service. The lady was very friendly and took care of our order quickly. Called ahead of time and it only took about 15 mins for our order to be ready. The food was good. We ordered a sandwich and a plate. Very flavorful and great portions. We also got an order of their coconut flan and it wasn't too sweet which I liked. The only negative is that we had ordered a tamal con bistec but they didn't give us a tamal instead gave us rice. And they had repeated our order to us twice so it was either a kitchen error or they ran out? But either way the food was good and we'd probably come back if we're in the area. Simply good. Got the Tampa Cubano, Pan Con Bistec, Puerco Asado, Tamal Con Pollo, Coconut Flan Pie, and Mango Mousse Cake. Every single item was amazing. Flavorful and filling. The one that surprised me the most was the Coconut Flan Pie. The combination of cinnamon(?) and grated coconut was not something I've ever tasted. The tamal was filled with their delicious pork and got even better overnight. Everything was great, but I probably won't get the bone-in chicken next time. It was not bad -- very homemade tasting. So let me start off by saying this place is a true gem. Moving here from Florida I haven't found a good Cuban influenced restaurant in Seattle area, But this place is as good as I think Seattle can do. The location will throw you off because it's a super small place and the parking situation is behind the building in a random parking lot but the food does not disappoint! It's Cuban inspired and the owners are just adorable. The Cubano is what should be your go to as well as some Moro's which is black beans and rice mixed together with awesome flavor and fried plantains on top. A must is the cilantro/mayo sauce to dip your Cubano in. There salad dressing is also bomb so make sure you get a side of it your tastebuds will thank you later. Now let's talk dessert! The Coconut flan/pie is a must. Light and good crust and coconut flavor that's just right not over powering but just enough. I tried all the desserts and they are all worth a try. The chocolate cake is super chocolatey so go for that if you feel like having a deep chocolate flavor. The mango mouse is super light and not bad but not my favorite. So happy to find this place and hope they make it during these tough times! Make sure to give them a try you won't be disappointed! read more
