This five star is strictly for their birria tacos. Unreal how good it is. The meat is tender and full of flavor, the tortilla is crunchy and soft at the same time with the melted cheese inside of the taco adding tons of gooey flavor. Then, the broth is the finishing touch because it adds the extra oomph to this glorious taco concoction. Also, very important, but eat it fresh. If you do takeout, you will regret it cause it doesn't taste as good (unless you refry it on your stovetop). Their other tacos are okay but it doesn't compare to the birria. New to Nova is El Establo Bar & Grill! My friend and I went a week after opening. First, the chicken wings were freshly breaded & crispy, yet perfectly moist on the inside. The tacos de birria were just as flavorful as everyone raves about! The bartender Ana was able to recommend The Soul Taker for me, as I was looking for something strong yet tasty. My friend wanted something on the sweeter side, so she was offered La Piñita. Both drinks were right on the nose! I kid you not, we the food and drinks were so good, we returned two days later for the Taco Tuesday specials and had the same order again because they were so good. I did try the Adios Me Voy that day because it was part of the happy hour and loved it just as much as the others! I even returned again this past Taco Tuesday and tried the El Uber punch bowl with a friend. It was probably my favorite drink I've had there so far. This place is pretty big and I wanted to like it really bad, so The birria taco was great but the consume was lacking in flavour. The birria ramen was very bland due to the consume lacking flavour. I also was only given a few and I mean few pieces of meat on top of the ramen. Wish I would've taken a picture. For $12 and the fact that noodles are $1, I expected way more meat. I ordered to go and eat it about 15/20 minutes later and the noodles were a bit mushy/too soft due to them sitting in hot broth maybe so I think it'll be better if they separate the noodles from broth in the future. The birria tacos we got for take out were really good, even though we ate it a few hours later at home. It reheated well and it was roughly 13 dollars for 4 tacos. With birria the most important thing is how well the consomme is seasoned. Meat can be plentiful but if the consommé isn't tasty the whole taco falls apart. Happy to report this was good. The restaurant itself is pretty big and has a dance floor. It was pretty empty ish while we sat there after placing our order to go. Hopefully it gets a steady source of repeat customers. Horrible service! They add charges to your bill thinking you won't notice ( they ask to open up a tab than run your credit card) and when they bring back your portion to sign you see charges for drinks or (hookah) that you never ordered and they argue that it was their mistake but they can't reimburse your credit card for the amount "mistakenly charged". Have only been here twice and will definitely never go back EVER. First experience was okay but the second was the kick. Went with some friends to get their tacos birria & pupusas. The waiter had no idea what she was doing. The alcoholic drink my friend got didn't even taste like it had alcohol. When we got our food order, my other friend was missing half of his food. We told the waiter and she said "Well do you still want it?" LIKE OF COURSE HE DOES. She just seemed so annoyed and focused on hanging out with her coworkers. When it came time to pay, she brought us the bill without us even asking for it. When I told her we wanted to spilt the check, she just seemed more annoyed and didn't even know who's food was who's. We LITERALLY had to write out our whole order again just so she could write it up. Even though she STILL charged all of us the wrongs items. Her service was so bad I didn't even leave her a tip but come to find out when I look at my bank account, she had tipped herself $20. I called and got my refund of course but the manager on duty said that it's happened with that waiter before. The food is pretty good but the service sucks. The women that work there are very rude and slow and when they realize they do a shitty service they'll add the tip to the bill of 18%. I would recommend to just order food here to go because service is non-existent. Definitely not a family friendly place, the location is very run down and hole in a wall style type joint. I really wanted to give this place an opportunity. So I go in and initially food smells great, service is great! My waitress fantasy was amazing and super helpful which is the only reason I am giving this place a three stars. But other than that, it wasn't great. As the night went on, I wanted to leave and for some strange reason one of the workers would not allow me to leave. She kept saying no you can not leave and I have never experienced this in my life in any establishment, where I can not leave. After I was yelling and yelling her I had to leave she told me I was never welcomed back to this establishment. Okay big deal..... What an experience. We made a reservation for a large party. The bartender was also our server. Took 30+ min to get drinks. Many were forgotten. The customer service was not at all appropriate. The place got very busy and we were quickly forgotten. Food was not good. The chicken burrito had barely any meat. We asked for sour cream and were given mayonnaise. When we asked the server about it they didn't care to fix it or apologize. When it was time to sign the check, the server stood over us to watch what we wrote as a tip. I came in with some friends and we were the only people in there and STILL the experience was horrible. The waiter offered beer they did not have and still gave me a whole other beer that i did not order the waiter didn't know the menu and took forever!! the table was dirty, the staff are in their own little world and dont care. Have came here a couple of times, food is good and drinks are good. Service is alright they do take long with the food. Last visit we waited over an hour for our food and we looked around and it seemed like just the bar was busy. Same visit seems like the place was filled with young adults who seemed like they just turned the age to drink. Beer pong tables set up on the dance floor, nothing wrong with that if the establishment just had a little bit more control. And what I mean was people falling over drunk and people running around. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Honestly I went despite hearing service was bad and slow, but I said don't knock it till you try it right!,wrongg!! I went with a girl friend ordered some drinks (margaritas) to start off. They were really watered down but, we are like whatever. We ordered some food and waited 20 minutes and called over the girl asking where it was, there were literally only like 5 other people in the restaurant so it wasn't busy and there were two other servers. She wanted to play it off by saying the cook was new and slow but she seemed to give liar vibes and could tell she had forgotten because when we asked about our food she gave a small gasp.
