This restaurant is family owned for a few decades and is one that survived the pandemic because of the loyalty of their patrons. This place has everything you need from a quick bite to a full blown multi course meal. If there is something special desired the owners will go out of their way to accommodate even if not on the menu. As for the staff, this restaurant has provided more work for the local high school population than any other. The turnover is minimal as most have been working here for many years which says a lot about the working environment. This is a beloved local establishment that gives back to the local community in many ways. It's a home away from home with good food, fairly priced menu options and an awesome ambiance. And I would put their wait staff up against the finest restaurants. What comes across is a sincerity to ensure your dining experience is something you want to repeat. The other three members of my family ordered different chicken dishes and all three were bad. Overall they were very bland. Using a little seasoning during cooking goes a long way. The chicken on the dishes seemed boiled. I guess this is an easy way to get tender chicken, but man does it remove the flavor! My wife's chicken had tendon and grizzle through out. My daughter's Marsala was gross. Seemed to be a Jared gravy. The wait staff really should not be wearing jeans, especially since the dining room seems nice (except for the paper table cloths.). Lack of Discretion: When presenting the check, she loudly yelled out the total amount of the bill in front of other patrons, which was highly inappropriate and unprofessional. Disparate Treatment: I observed her treating other parties with a level of courtesy and attentiveness that was pointedly withheld from me. General Demeanor: Her overall attitude was dismissive and overtly rude throughout the meal. For identification purposes, the server was a female of minority descent, approximately 5 feet tall with a heavy-set build. I have long respected Tun Tavern for its historical significance and its ties to military tradition. However, the treatment I received was inconsistent with the standards of hospitality one would expect from your establishment. I believe it is important for management to be aware of this incident so that it can be addressed through proper training or disciplinary measures.
