This place is horrible. Let's start simple. $0.45 charge for debit or credit. Seriously? Half a buck just to pay for a $6 order? Welcome to 2015 where people don't walk around with wads of cash. Get with the program. Everything's going plastic. The salsa bar is constantly out of salsa. Keeping salsa in a bowl is probably the easiest part of the daily job responsibilities. The cashier always has me swipe my card 2-3 times. It is not my card. It works everywhere else the first time. The staff doesn't know the specials of the day and will overcharge you for them. If you try to order anything more complex than a taco or burrito, such as one of the meals, you're in for more than you bargained for. You may get what you ordered if you're lucky. It may or may not look like it's been sitting in the sun for half a day. They may or may not forget to give you the drink that comes with your meal. Final Thoughts: this is California. Keep going a few blocks and you'll find another Mexican place and the food will probably be better and the experience will be less of a hassle. And I don't care that it's 24 hours. The carne asada fries, the lengua burrito, and lengua tacos are my faveeeee. Their lengua is so tender and well cooked that I'm hooked for life just for their lengua. Maybe I didn't order the right food, but not impressed with the nachos or bean burritos. It left me in a bad mood, which fast food usually does. I guess I should switch up my diet a little bit, I've been trying but lately nothing seems to cut it. I've had this problem since I was a kid, my parents really didn't introduce me to too many good foods and just kind of made the same meals every night. So it just left me in the dust when it comes to varieties of meals and such. I mainly just stick to the same foods over and over again, which is unfortunate. Especially now that I'm working my new job, which I usually don't get off until midnight. Then there I am, resorting to fast food again cause I'm too tired and lazy to make myself something! I really want to try new things, but I'm just so picky and it really brings me down. I can't tell you how many times I've been disappointed in new foods that I've tried, it's ridiculous. I bought this cook book with the hopes of starting a new diet, but lately I stick to the original stuff. I don't know. I am trying to be a vegetarian, which is making me feel better as the days go on. It's been a year since I've even had a cheeseburger believe it or not! It's been a long journey I'll tell you that much. But one things for sure, I can't go on my whole life eating fast foods three times a week. man I really wanted to like this place. It is close to home, and we all love Mexican food in our house. I got the super burrito wet with carnitas. You ever get a burrito that is really uneven? You know, when you get a bunch of fillings (pork, rice, beans) on one end and then a bunch of other fillings (sour cream, cheese, veggies) on the other)? That was my burrito, and on top of that, it was not really hot all the way through, and lacked any real flavor or punch. My daughter got the 2 enchilada combo with two cheese enchiladas. They were ok, but the re-fried beans....they were grey in color, i've never encountered beans like this, and they didn't taste very good. On a positive note, I got our food really fast, like I was surprised it was so fast. But maybe that is why the food was lukewarm and not heated all the way through. Overall neither of us were happy with our meal, and I doubt we will return. read more

Used to love this place. But the last 2 times I've gone there, my orders were messed up. 1st incident, I ordered my usual at the drive thru : A pollo asado super burrito. This place is right around the corner from my house. I'm a fan, the 24 hr drive-thru comes in clutch on the drunk weekend nights. The food is pretty good. The shrimp burritos are on point, along with the super burrito which has a ton of ingredients and deliciousness, and this place is a definite must on Sundays for their $1 tacos. These $1 tacos are delicious, and you can choose from shredded chicken or shredded beef. The tacos are amazing for a dollar, and they are usually $2.50 on any day other than Sunday. read more

I tried the burrito and taco combo plate which comes with rice and beans. The taco was really good, and the burrito was average. The beans and rice were a little too salty but good enough. I like that they're open 24 hours and have a drive-thru. They have coupons in the pennysaver which makes it a super deal. Without the coupon I'd rather go to an actual restaurant. I decided to embark on a midnight food run last night for a quick study break and choose to visit El Forastero as I had been eyeing it for some time. Something about 24hour Mexican food really interest me as I am a fan of both good Mexican food and convenient hours. From my experiences at other local Mexican taquerias I have to say that El Forastero's food prices are all pretty reasonable. Going through the drive through at that time of night I wasn't sure what type of customer service I would recieve but we were greeted and helped by a very polite worker. As for the food, I ended up ordering their carne asada fries and I have to admit I have had better carne asada fries here in the area, but considering that these were prepared at 12am and had huge portion sizes, they were still a 10 in my eyes. To be fair, my wife's carnitas super burrito was large and tasty ... once she got to the meat. My Chile Verde seemed to lack the verde..other than the whipped guacamole. This is not the 1st, or 2nd, but the 3rd issue with this location, they always get my order wrong, even though I go often since I live around the corner. The first time I asked to speak to the manager, they hung up on me, when I called back, they hung up again, the next time they picked up and set the phone down next to a radio blasting the worst Mexican music I've ever heard. Next time, they get my order wring, I call, they say the supervisor will give me a free order of my carne asada nachos, do about 3 days later I call and tell them I want my free order, made correctly and added additional items to the order, they said there was no nachos compensated. I ask for the supervisor, they once again hang up on me, I call back, they pick up and day nothing then set the phone down and I say there for over 20 minutes very angry, nobody ever picked the phone back up. This last time, sane issue, I tell them I wasn't the store managers name and regional managers name, they hang up on me, I send my husband back to get a refund, he tells them he wants the name and numbers, they refused and told him no, good luck getting it. I am filing as many reviews as I can on this business. I am shocked and appalled at this service from what I assume is illegal immigrants. You have lost my business at all locations due to these incidents. I have never had such an unprofessional experience and you should be ASHAMED. I question the legal status of the workers and will be asking that all visas and citizenship be validated. read more
