The carne asada tacos were packed with a smoky flavor and soft texture. On the other hand, the lengua tacos were bland. Since lengua costs an additional dollar, I was expecting more seasoning. The cabeza burrito was generously filled. They did not skimp on the meat. The rice was a bit too soft, and the tortilla was thin, causing it to break apart while eating. I do like that they have a sauce bar where you can grab as many sauces as you'd like. They also provided garnishes, though I did not receive any limes, which are important when eating tacos. Pretty solid tacos! I ordered lengua, asada, and pastor. My favorite from the three was the pastor since it was smokey and juicy. Lengua was okay, would consider trying a different meat next time. They offered a variety of salsas though none of the ones I tried were spicy -- I was expecting the orange sauce to taste similar to the ones at Spartan tacos or La Vic's. My husband and I don't frequent taco spots much since 2 of our fave spots closed down during the COVID era. So I always feel bad when a visitor to the Bay Area asks me what are my recs for good tacos/Mexican food and I don't have a rec to give them. Well as of last night, it's Tacos Mi Reynita. We came here at 8:30pm on a Sunday night and it was still busy. Parking was a little difficult to find and the area is fenced off but we managed. Music was blasting and the tables were clean. The self serve salsa bar had cucumbers, radish, lime, and 4 different types of salsa. The food came out quickly. Highlights: Love the handmade tortillas, clean truck, salsa bar refilled frequently, and charcoal grilled meats. The tacos are stuffed with meat (no double tortilla here!) and individually wrapped. Carne asada tacos - great flavor, higher quality meat and Tijuana style with guacamole on top! This was our favorite. Al pastor tacos - if a place can do good Al pastor, it's a good sign. I will say the Al pastor here is not as sweet (I prefer pineapple notes) but it was still delicious. It is a bit too spicy to enjoy as much so if you're sensitive skip this. This one is done on a trompa (a must!). Lengua tacos - wow. It's rare that I get a good lengua taco done right. Delicious and so soft! Chicken tacos - a bit bland but I like that the chicken pieces were big and not shredded chicken. If this place gets more popular than it already is, I just pray the quality stays the same. I'm so sad Mi Reynita is moving again! Starting 1/27/2026 they will be at the G Spot Food Truck village on South First Street in SJ. This place continues to be the tastiest Mexican street food in my opinion and today I tried their birria ramen without cheese. It was the perfect hot soup on a cold day with a decent amount of noodles and birria meat. I wish they would serve it with a tortilla de harina but next time I will just order an extra taco. The truck is inside of a huge parking lot that's gated and there's plenty of parking. Well lit tent and many tables to sit and eat. What we ordered: Mango Fresco: Mango & passion fruit drink was very refreshing. Must try but caution there's a lot of sugar in it. Asada/Pastor Tacos: Hand made tortillas, Meat well seasoned. Guacamole sauce on the tacos was perfect. Asada Crunch Wrap: The best dish of them all. Hand made tortillas and the crunch wrap was lightly crispy and delicious. I've been a fan of this taco truck since I first had them at their other location in the East Bay. In San Jose they are one of the best tacos in the area. Tacos are well made and full of flavor. Salsa bar has a variety of sauces for every flavor profile. I enjoy the tacos and mini quesadillas and recently tried the quesadilla with chicharrón and chiles and it was hella spicy with good flavor. My only issue was that the chicharrón can get stuck to your teeth so mindful when you are eating this. The taco truck has moved around a lot of San Jose and it's recently at a large food truck lot tucked in the very back. Service is always efficient. The overall ambiance is going to match what is going on in this lot. Sometimes music is TOO loud or the TV. The noise of people is expected so no complaint there as it's a large space to gather. The overall sound control of the space could be taken care of better but that's out of their control as it's a shared space. When I eat here I know my food will be flavorful and filling and that is always a plus in a city where there is a taco truck at every couple of blocks. read more

This was a great place! It's nicely located with other small huts/food trucks, which is a great variety. The food truck was situated at the end and it has lots of tables under a tent. The staff was really friendly and the food was quick. We got the carne asada and al pastor tacos, it came with grilled peppers and onions. I loved the grilled onion bulbs, so delicious! I appreciate the generous portions of the grilled onions and green peppers. The tacos were drowning with sauce and onions and it was great. We also go the Crunchwrap and it was decorous and tasted authentic. The carne asada burrito was pretty great too, it was a decent size and had lots of food. The salsa bar is really great, there's a lot of sauces and delicious condiments. The best part of the meal was the strawberry milk, it was the highlight of the day. We came on a Tuesday for Taco Tuesday where most of the tacos are $2.50 at around 8pm and there was a steady flow of customers and the tables were filled. It's really hard to find TJ style tacos in the bay so we went crazy when we got there and ordered the quesabirria, birria taco, carne asada taco, Al pastor taco, Cabeza taco, Pollo Taco, chorizo and a horchata. The horchata was super flavorful with a strong cinnamon taste. The tacos are honestly the best in the bay. The hand made tortilla to order is a game changer and really brings this place to the next level. The best meats in my opinion were the birria, Cabeza and the carne asada. The pastor and chicken were solid but nothing to write home about. The tacos had inconsistent amount of toppings though and some had very little guac. They have a full in salsa bar with all the fixens. But if you can't handle spice like me just know the majority of the salsa are no joke. Parking on the day I went was super easy and a lot of spaces but I can see how on the weekends parking could be a nightmare since there's multiple food trucks and a very small parking lot. Overall Tacos Mi Reynita has taken the top spot in tacos for the Bay Area and I will be coming back whenever I have a craving for tacos. read more

Came here for three times already for Taco Tuesday, during which most tacos are $2.50 each (besides tripas and lengua which are special). There is usually a line, but it goes by quick. The cashier takes your order down on a notepad and you get a ticket, which you show when they call your number up. Their agua frescas are delicious. The strawberry one isn't strawberry-flavored through syrups--it tastes like FRESH strawberries! We also like getting a horchata which has a perfect consistency, not too thick and not too thin. I preferred the strawberry drink over it though. After ordering, you could get your salsa through a self-serve salsa bar, as well as coleslaw, cucumbers, and radishes. I used to love the habanero in the coleslaw, but I think it may be too spicy for people, so they seemed to have replaced it with shredded carrot on my recent outing. All of the salsas are good and have a bit of a kick to them; I'm not the biggest fan of the nutty, peanut-y orange sauce but I love the roasted chili salsa, salsa verde and salsa roja. The tacos come with a side of grilled serrano peppers, onions, and mini onions. The mini onions are SO delicious. I love peeling them! Sometimes the onion slices taste like meat juice since they're nearby on the grill. The peppers have heat; there were times I received some that were not grilled as much as those are even spicier. The size of the tacos are hefty! Three keeps me full although my cousins and brother can do four to six. One of my cousins even had eight for his first Taco Tuesday, but he regretted it a little bit afterwards. I've got the campechano, carne asada, cabeza, al pastor, and tripas. Campechano (chorizo + carne asada): My favorite one! This one is my brother's favorite too. I'm not the biggest fan of chorizo, but the chorizo here is so delicious and packed so much flavor to the carne asada. I've considered getting the chorizo alone, but I do like the texture of the carne asada with it. Carne asada: This is a classic. It is not too dry and goes well with the salsas. Cabeza: Soft meat and a good vehicle for salsas as well. Al pastor: Usually a go-to for Taco Tuesday but this one did not stand out as much compared to the others. Tripas: I usually love tripas but this one was a bit too chewy. I'd recommend sticking to the other meats. All in all, I highly recommend Tacos Mi Reynita! read more
