Through Grub Hub I ordered the Bisteck a lo Pobre. I requested salad and received white rice instead; but, that is not why I am giving a 1 star review. The steak was extensively overcooked and had to literally pick it up and bite off a piece (as I got frustrated trying to cut with knife). After the first bite I phoned and expressed my dismay and offered to bring it back after I was off work. The lady who answered said "let me ask the cook." I asked if there was a manager available and she said no but, we will "make it better next time on my next order." I replied "if one of my Clients were not satisfied with my services, I would attempt to correct." To that she, had nothing to say. I'll still tip the Grub Hub driver 20%, for it was not his fault. Good Peruvian is difficult to find in LA and after Mario's, the rest of the places fall under even more scrutiny. I usually get Lomo saltado and most will agree that it's the best dish to judge how the rest of the menu stacks up. This is a solid 3.5 star place. Fast friendly service, fresh ingredients, very reasonable prices, and my lomo's beef was tender. Here is what they need to improve on; small menu, small portions, and that marriage of flavors that lomo must have was lacking. I barely had any sautéed tomatoes and cilantro in my dish which I think is key. Again, I tend to compare the food to Mario's and rather pay a few extra dollars for bigger portions and better flavor but if you're in the valley and want Peruvian, this place is worth a visit. read more

Okay so I just moved from the area and wanted to try this place out. Sadly I never tried their plantains because they were sold out. However their lomo Saltado was pretty good. My brother got the cau cau which is a tradition Peruvian meal and he gives that . I brought some friends to eat late at night. One of them asked for Ceviche de Pescado but the order was brought as Ceviche de Camarones. My other friend asked for Lomo Saltado and I asked for some anticuchos and a plate of green spaghetti with chicken and papa a la huancaina. The waitress brought us some old cold bread with butter. I asked for for hot bread and she said "this is all I got now, we ran of bread". So far not a good impression. The ceviche was spicy but only 5 shrimps for a plate that was $15.00. El ceviche de camarones had good taste and the quantity was if California had a shortage of Shrimp or someone in the kitchen was really cheap about it. Lomo Saltado was cooked good and had good flavor, again the plat shrinked but it was a good size portion of rice. Anticuchos were awesome. Cooked to perfection and very tasty. I would do this all day! My plate of green spaghetti was a disaster. It's suppose to come with papa a la huancaina and I probably saw a quarter of a potatoe with a pinch of sauce of huancaina. As far as presentation, this was a joke. The spaghetti was not fully cooked and had a hard time chewing the damm spaghetti. I had to drink a lot of Chicha Morada to kind of help me digest. The chicken that was added was tasty and well cooked. Overall the service was good but I wished the lady was more attentive and asked if "everything was ok" Would I come back? Hell NO! For all I've paid I could get better service and food somewhere else. I'm really disappointed of most of the Peruvian restaurants around here. The ceviche was the perfect blend of lemon and spice and the lomo Saltado was tender and flavorful. The service was great. Would definitely come back again.
