This is an older building, but I'm not sure how long they have been here. In summary, I was not really impressed with my meal, but this is a super casual place and the prices are right. I started off with their house small frozen margarita. If you just need a basic one, this will do. It's nothing fancy. For comparison, their fresh margaritas start at $12 currently. Their salsa is served at room temp and you receive both a green and a red one. The red one was my fav. It was also the spicier of the two. I ordered their beef fajitas for one which is only $20. Let's see how it compared to my favorite in town which is much more expensive. Beef fajitas- these are your basic beef fajitas with store-bought tortillas. The sizzling skillet comes with 2 types of grilled onions, tomato, and grilled bell pepper slices. The beef is tender, I'll give them that, but the quality is low. You receive a lot of Pico de Gallo, not much guacamole, and an avg amount of rice and beans. The grilled onions were not grilled very long at all. I noticed a couple of the slices of beef were not cut against the grain, so they were a bit more chewy. Overall, service was average. They never asked me if I wanted a 2nd margarita until after I sat around for 10 mins and then even asked for the check. By then, its way too late to ask a customer if they want a 2nd drink, I guess that's how low key they are. At the end of the meal my glass of water was nearly empty too, but no server was to be found at the bar. In fact, they didn't really even man the bar most of the time with the 4 customers sitting there, including me.

CHECK Well, those are the critical check boxes. So good returned the following day for lunch. Hmm.... Might come back tomorrow. Too. This chill little place located just north of woodlands pkwy. The Pico de Colibrí was the perfect starter--bright, fresh, with just the right balance of sweet corn, cilantro crema, and cotija cheese. The Costillas de Res con Frijoles Arrieros were incredibly tender and packed with rich, savory flavor, and the hearty black bean stew paired perfectly. The Filete de Pescado Campirana was another standout--the sea bass was flaky and moist, and the tomatillo, serrano, and epazote gave it a delicious, authentic flavor without overpowering the fish. The service was friendly, the atmosphere was welcoming, and every bite was outstanding. We didn't have a single dish that disappointed us. We'll definitely be back!

Everything was even better than expected. Everyone was so kind and helpful. They provided explanations and recommendations. The decor and neat, comfortable and cozy. Finally, the food. Man was it great. We had the Pico appetizer, Jamaica for drinks, the green Chili enchiladas and a shrimp dish. I would order any and all of them again. We also added a half dozen empanadas to go. The apple one was the I only one we tried as we were stuffed! Overall, spectacular experience. Will return and bring others.

The previous dining experience before this one, was not good, but I didn't post about it. I was really hoping it was a one time issue. The chips were so greasy you feared eating them for getting sick. The manager acknowledged how bad they were, and said they had an issue with the supplier. He said rather than not serve chips, they decided to serve them. They were inedible. Also the once delicious salsa has gotten watery. After my food arrived, I sent the taco back because the shell was the same as the chips. So greasy and the taco poured grease out of it. This last trip, the chips were better, but still very greasy and tasteless. The nachos I had would be about the quality of Chilis. No refried beans. Most restaurants layer refried beans, cheese and meat for SIX almost $20 dollar nachos. The chicken fajita meat was dry, and the beef was not good. A few bites were not edible. Another note- The once delicious tortillas were super thick and gummy. The manager came by and I explained everything to him . He didn't have much to say and didn't really seem concerned... other than taking off $2 of the bill. Which I do appreciate! It's still a beautiful restaurant, just sadly the food has changed too much for it be a top place for me.

You will be back, because there is plenty of seating- outside patio and roomy interior and because the items we love are incomparable at any other Tex- Mex and because the prices are much more reasonable than the other most popular Cantinas for high quality food and nice ambiance. Our service was adequate- the waitress forgot our necessary extra onions - the fajitas come with 4-5 segments of a little onion! And she forgot we were having a birthday celebration after the meal--oh, no!!! (The restaurant itself is attractive, but the area off Tamina Road on the other side of 45 is slightly inconvenient and nearby power lines and overgrown grass seem out of place near this nice restaurant.)
