Great food! Great people and atmosphere. Service was so great. Laidback and good vibe for a pop in light dinner.

I went here for a friend's birthday and the food was great. Service was a little slow, but the restaurant was clean and they gave her some free sopapilla well chips really not actual sopapillas for her birthday and they sang to her. We got three different things and each of us enjoyed our food. I always love the different dips. They provide with the chips and eat way too much. They're a little overpriced, but they are good and I enjoyed my food, especially the grilled fish Tacos.

We have been meaning to try El Patron since we attended an election watch party 2 years ago. We finally got around to it. The ambiance and the service were excellent. It's very spacious and the black decor is elegant and creates a relaxed atmosphere. What I like about the lunch menu is that you can choose your sides in addition to your entree. Dan and I don't like rice. We were happy that we could order guacamole instead of rice. We both got a chile relleno, beans, and guacamole. We thought the food was a bit bland so we asked if they had a hotter salsa. They did and it was hot. It was perfect with the milder sauce they brought with the chips. We added the salsa to the food and were happy. We always ask for a hotter salsa at Mexican restaurants and are surprised at how many restaurants have it but you just have to ask for it. Many a meal has been saved by just asking for a salsa with more heat.

We were visiting in Tulsa and El Patron Cocina was recommended to us. It did NOT disappoint. The food was amazing and the service was great! We loved the chips and "salsa's" !!

Delicious Tex-Mex. Go with the nachos for lunch or dinner. Very flavorful. Service is very speedy for a quick lunch.

I'm a big sauce girl, so I love that they have 3 sauces: red, ranch, and sweet green. The red was good but compared to the others they were better. The ranch one is like a more spiced (but not necessarily spicy) version of your regular ranch. My family seemed to like it the best. I really like the sweetness of the green still and how it's unique. Refreshing too. It isn't your typical verde sauce, more like a fruity or cucumber type flavor than green chilies. Very large menu which I love so I had trouble deciding but ended up on the verde enchiladas with chicken. Very good. I always forget how simple they are on the inside, pretty much just chicken but that's ok. Good flavor and somewhere right in the middle of juicy and dry. Fairly Good amount of chicken. LOVED the verde sauce! Different from complimentary green sauce mentioned above, which I was wondering about and happy about it being different/ more the normal verde sauce for the dish. It's one of the kinds that's more sour. Lots of good flavor. Would totally order again just for the sauce being the verde sauce how I like it. The beans were standard (still good) but I'd say the rice here is actually a bit better compared to many others. Just seemed to have more flavor like chicken broth, and good amount of veggies to add more of the flavor. I also have ordered the verde pozole (I think is what it was) which at the time was a new item. I haven't been in a while and I hope they still have it. It was so delicious!!!! The flavor was amazing, and the broth just warmed my soul!!! Would love to order it again.

I enjoyed El Patron! Their lunch is pretty affordable and our waiter was great! I got the Pick 2 with a quesadilla and enchilada. It was pretty good!

Update 3/16/24 The shrimp on the Pollo Norteño was fabulous. Large plump fresh tasting shrimp, perfectly cooked to deliver a nice snap when biting into them. Lightly seasoned and covered in hot melted cheese. All this, over a large thin grilled chicken breast floating on a bed of peppers, onions and tomatoes sauteed in butter. An outstanding plate of flavor. Not a light meal. This meal is absolutely recommended! My wife had the El Patron Bowl. A big healthy bowl of black beans, lettuce, and Pico de Gallo topped with grilled seasoned chicken. Both meals were very good. I would like to have given El Patron 5 stars on this visit. The service is still lacking. It was adequate. We got our meals and the waitress disappeared until time for the check. An offer to refill our drinks was all I was hoping for. El Patron is a nice large comfortable restaurant with an upscale ambiance, creating an expectation that the quality of the service will match the quality of the food. It didn't quite succeed.

Server was attentive at first then started getting busy, had to ask for refill, to go box and our check like dang cmon get it together!!! Full service bar to have cocktails or a date. Live music as well, nice sound as well!! Large dining area heard group of 40 or 14 coming in for birthday. Either way I'm sure they can accommodate. Chips and 3 salsas for starters red- white-green all tasty but not too spicy. Ceviche was fresh and flavorful maybe needed a lil more juice to it. Kinda dry El Acapulco was shrimp with chunks of pineapple and grilled onions topped with queso on bed of rice, wow this was delish!!! Larger portions! Could definitely share both plates!!!! Had some for lunch next day! I was impressed on the flavor. Large parking lot but it was full. So get there early! They stayed busy the entire time. Inside is nicely decorated from ceiling fixtures to lighting. It really is fancy inside and nice but okay for casual dressed. We will be back to try something else for sure!!!!

Add "everything ," which means salsa, cilantro, onions, etc. to get the full flavor. The chunks of meat in the steak tacos are chopped more finely than at some other places, which gets them a higher score. It's easier to eat and not so chewy. The family running the restaurant has always been warm and friendly, and I've been eating here for many years. Be patient as a long line can appear suddenly. Definitely not your typical Mexican joint playing music with a joyful atmosphere.
