The food and service at this location has declined over the years. Used to be one of our go to place after skating practice for its convenience and good food. I will not be going back. We've noticed the servers progressively getting worse and worse. Service can be overlooked if the food is good, thus the continued business but we are just sick and tired of Angelica specifically, giving us attitude and the vibe that we're intruding on her space/time. She'd come take our order and just start walking away before we're even done. Orders are brought out and dropped onto the table. There are a bunch of other restaurants in the area and new ones coming, I do not need to put up w this kind of attitude especially with my kids. Went back yesterday before the wife and kids went to see a play at the Norris Theater. We had a narrow window before the play and service was nice and fast. When I ordered, I had to pull up my last review to remind myself of the dishes I've enjoyed and I was really torn between the lamb stew, Picante de Pollo or the Pescado a lo Macho. The friendly waiter confirmed that the Pescado a lo Macho was very good so I went with that. The portion is quite large and it's as tasty as I recalled. I have plenty of leftovers. The price has gone up $2 from when I last ordered it on February 2024 which I feel is reasonable with inflation. The boy ordered the Saltado de Mariscos ($20) and it was very good. The wife always orders the half chicken ($14 + $2 beans + $1.50 white meat only) and loves it. The girl ordered a large Aguadito soup ($9) and that is quite tasty as well. We also ordered an order of fried yuca con huancaina ($11) and that was great. The sauce is a creamy cheese sauce in which to dip the perfectly fried yuca. All meals come with delicious rolls, green sauce (YUM!) and a cup of Aguadito soup. The Pisco Sours ($11) are still amazing as well. Highly recommend! read more

First time to this location, great atmosphere seating looks fancy compared to Torrance location down the hill, I guess this place had to look the part for the rich folks on the hill. Service was awesome, waiter was nice always on top of refills and asking if we were ok. Food is always food, you can never go wrong with chicken and fries, that's what both my girls ate. Calamari was also got it at happy hour price for $11 beer was $4 on happy hour, happy hours ends at 6pm so get there before 6pm. Place was very lonely and quiet for a Tuesday night. If your siting by front door on a late night, do your self a favor and take a jacket, a lot of cold air does go in. Came here for lunch and ordered the lunch special Lomo Saltado for $15. This is the PERFECT amount of food! They first bring out a basket of warm bread with butter and then complimentary soup. This soup is aguadito de pollo which is a traditional Peruvian chicken soup with rice and cilantro. It's SO DELICIOUS with very tender pieces of chicken inside. My friends and I add the green sauce to it. Well we add the green sauce to everything. Resembled like a rice porridge in a great way. I definitely wanted more! The Lomo Saltado comes with a small cup of rice and an even amount of steak and fries, but the star of the show is definitely their green sauce. It's very spicy in the best way, while still having flavor!! The red onions and tomatoes were cooked through while still having a nice bite to them. The fries were on the soggy-ish side, but they're not really supposed to resemble crispy American french fries but more like fried potatoes essentially. The steak was cooked to perfection!! It was cooked more on the medium well side and I personally prefer my steak done medium but that green sauce really made the small things disappear! My mouth is salivating thinking about this meal. We absolutely love this place! It is a bit of a drive for us, but completely worth it. There is plenty of parking and staff were very friendly and welcoming. We were sat right away on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered a ceviche trio to share, my bf got the 1/2 chicken and I got the beef anticuchos. The ceviches were all really good, but 2 of them had a bit of kick to them. They also brought their bread rolls which are always very fresh and fluffy and their chicken soup which is very tasty. Their soup is really good and reminds you of a homemade soup. The chicken is their staple and it was very juicy and tasty! Their cilantro rice is the best! You cannot miss their cilantro sauce which goes perfectly with everything. My anticuchos were tasty and I was glad the sauce was on the side because it was very spicy. I love the papa huancaina that they include in the dish. We got iced tea to go with our meal and those were freshly brewed. Overall the price for the portion sizes are very reasonable and the food is very tasty. This is our favourite Peruvian restaurant in south cal. Rolling Hills Estates, CA. In a shopping mall close to the Palisades, I came here with family as this was a local and favorite spot for rotisserie chicken, which happens to be Peruvian. You walk in and you are in this immense dining room with large and beautifully memorable murapics of Peru, a nice and comfy space, tables and booths, a full bar and super helpful staff. We came around 1p and was served lunch immediately. The Peruvian chicken with flavors or cumin, garlic, cilantro was out of this world good. It was juicy, well seasoned and crave worthy. We also loved the chicken and rice soup Another standout was the platanos; firm, ripe, nicely crisp on the outside from the caramelized sugar, we fought for the last bite. Lol. The Lucuma ice cream was super delicious --- with favors of brown butter, maple syrup, cinnamon was so good, we ordered a Togo cup. And it was not sweet. I've had the fruit in Asia and like it. Love that there are Peruvian restaurants around here. I love that they have fun Peruvian drinks, like Inka cola. My daughter got the pasta but she said it was a little oily. They have kids' menus and crayons, which is great. I got the Lomo saltado with beef. Honestly, I needed quite a bit of salt and pepper for this dish. It wasn't super flavorful, and the beef was really, really chewy. I've been to several Peruvian restaurants, several in the Bay Area, and unfortunately, this is not the best Peruvian restaurant I've been to. The disclaimer is that my mom is Peruvian, so I grew up with a lot of these foods. Some other people in our party got the yucca frita, and parts of it were not cooked. The service was great. They were really friendly towards our two kids, so it's definitely a family friendly place. We didn't have to wait too long for the food either. The restaurant was clean, the bathrooms were great, but the food lacked the flavor and didn't really wow me. If you aren't used to Peruvian food and you want a family friendly restaurant, this would be a good place to go to. Great location, as it's in the Promenade. Under the sitr fry of beef, onions, and tomatoes is like a pan fried version of Spanish rice. So if you like Spanish rice and lomo saltado, give this dish a try. The meal came with a 1 cup serving of aguadito soup. I ate my meal with the green sauce of course. Even put some in my soup. Gotta have that yummy spicy kick! If you don't like spicy, just try a dab first because it might be way too hot for some people. The good: This is a great location for family gatherings or special occasions. It was easy to make reservations ahead online but they weren't necessary. The space is big and they can accommodate large groups. They have both inside and outside seating. The outside seating area is cute with string lights. They have a kids menu as well. I've tried around 5 dishes here (not counting desserts). For my husband's birthday, they brought a flan with a candle and sang to him. It was festive how multiple waiters came to sing to him instead of just one. The prices are fair. The cilantro rice soup that comes with lots of the dishes is very tasty. We also tried the pisco sour sampler and another cocktail. I like all of the Peruvian interior decor, art and furniture pieces. The bad: I came twice and both times the waitresses forgot to bring our credit card back. During my 2nd visit, the host forgot to give us menus. During my 1st visit, one of our appetizers (yucca fries) never came out and we were charged for it. The waitress during the first visit didn't seem to know the menu very well. We had a high chair and a wheelchair during our 2nd visit but they situated us at a booth table in the corner that was tricky to get in and out of. The interesting: The interior decor and lighting reminds me of Cheesecake Factory. The cleaning solution smell here reminds me of a Vegas casino (in a good way). read more

It has the feel of a clean but lifeless Peruvian cafetería, with the charm of an Outlet Center fast food joint. The ambiance in this place, with its overly lit lights - and 90% emptiness - gave me the distinct feeling we'd accidentally walked into a Taco Bell @ Midnight. (no offense, you bell beefer lovers) There was all this fussing about over getting us situated in this one certain booth - right by the front door. They're clamoring to clean THAT table, reset it, find a human to service it. Yet the restaurant was nearly empty save like 3 other parties. Why on earth are you getting so wigged out just to stick us in THAT booth...by the front door?? We finally sit down and are greeted by a lovely older gal that knew what she was doing. Family vibes, nice chatter and service. Drinks, ordered. Appetizers (PAPA RELLENA), ordered. Beer selection included a GOOSE ISLAND IPA, which was nice - and between that and our kind server you now know why I went 2 stars on this review versus 1. I know...how generous of me. They start you out with your little bowlitos of aguadito soup. It was fine. Certainly not the "Peruvian rave-worthy" elixir we were hoping for, but at least something to do with your mouth and dominant hand while waiting for actual food. When Course 1 of the 'actual food' arrived (the PAPA RELLENAS), it was another swing-and-a-miss. This 'Dish Of Peruvian Homeland Pride', yada yada...it was a potatoey thing with onions, raisins, overcooked beef and some of their constantly talked about "secret sauce" heaped all over it. Honestly, the sauce is so over-powering, it's not worth putting on your food other than to moisten it up. Maybe that's the concept! They rave about this sauce like it's the blood of Veracocha himself...and they slather it on. Take it easy on that stuff, Inka Pollo People...this is not a food crime scene. (few will get this) My 1/2 POLLO was 2/2 dry and lame. It could be renamed The Dry & Lame Chicken. Or maybe the Chicken of Shame. Or The Chicken of Shadows & Disgrace. The Pollo Void. The Foul Fowl. I saw some FRIED RICE going around the table and a couple of other dishes that looked okay but...saucy. When it was quittin' time for the staff, boy, they sure didn't hesitate to let us know. That front door we were sitting right next to got cranked open while one of the cats wheeled in the sloshing mop bucket (squeaky wheels and all) and the soaking dirty mop riding shotgun. It came right by us once. Then, it made another pass. As this was going on, chairs were being slammed up onto tables. Forget American Pie - THIS was the night the music died...mid-bite into our 'Peruvian delights'. Nothing says "GET OUT" quite like a squeaky-wheeled mop bucket sloshing by you while you're finishing your fried rice and Chicken of Shame. The only thing worse than all of the above, would be having to return here at the obligatory invitation of the manager on duty after he/she reads this review. No. I won't do it, so don't even ask. Try to "make it right" by offering better service. And maybe fewer mop runs during dinner hours. read more
