Came here for the first time on a Friday afternoon (around 5pm) and it was empty. It was a quiet tucked away restaurant with tons of outdoor seating, a dining room and a bar area. We were quickly seated which was nice. We sat in the bar area by the window and there was a small view of the ocean which was a fun bonus. The staff were all welcoming upon arrival. We ordered the guacamole to start with some skinny margaritas. The guacamole was good but nothing special. The margs were good but seemed to lack tequila. My friend got her margarita blended and I don't think it had any liquor. For my main dish, I got the shrimp fajitas. They were very good! It came with rice, beans, sour cream and choice of flour or corn tortillas. By time we finished our meal, it was starting to get busy so I'd consider making a reservation if you come after 6pm. There is free parking in the front of the strip mall but there is not a ton. Overall it was good! read more

We have been driving vibe past this spot for so long and this day we decided to stop and we are so happy we did! The restaurant is really clean, large and well decorated. We were immediately greeted and were offered any available table. We were there at lunch and it wasn't busy at that time. The very sweet server came over with chips and salsa and menus and took our drink order. We ordered, the crispy taco lunch special, chicken tortilla soup, potato flautas and alacarte cheese enchilada. Everything was really delicious, tacos were actually crispy, soup was brothy and full of chicken n veges, enchilada sauce was amazing, my husband only wished he had ordered the flautas with the sauce on the side. Stopped in here for Sunday lunch, we live on the hill but don't frequent Lunada bay often. We have been wanting to check out this little section of Lunada and we are glad we did. We decided to give salsa verdes a try as we walked around. Located in the center of a building, right in that little downtown area. We ordered mole enchiladas and shrimp tacos. The shrimp was plentiful and huge, and the mole had great seasoning! We got our daughter steak tacos and she ate them right up. Our waiter was nice and the service was quick. I always say how much I wish PV had more restaurants on the hill, so I am thankful for salsa verdes! We will visit again! read more

Tried this spot for the first time, and it did not disappoint! It's a charming restaurant with a cozy atmosphere, a lovely patio, and even some ocean views from inside. The staff is warm, welcoming, and super accommodating. The salsa was decent but a bit too mild for my taste. For the mains, we went with the grilled steak burrito with red sauce and the chile verde burrito with green sauce--both were absolutely massive and packed with flavor. The first time here and I ordered the Carne Asada platter. It was very good, too! The presentation was pretty impressive and wasn't your typical slopped together prison food that most Mexican restaurants serve you. I liked everything I ate and vosed to come back. The next time I came I ordered the Mahi plate because I was told by the server its a really good dish and I would love it. Hmm, I can't help feeling what was so special about it?? I had high hopes and it was a let down. Nothing special, no taste at all, in fact! Okay so I gave it a pass and thought next time I'll order something else. The third time I came I ordered the Steak Fajitas and the meat was full of grizzle! It was steak to me, it look like thin slices of beef, not steak cuts! Even my husband steak burrito was full of grizzle. Terrible!! I just don't understand why there isn't one good awesine Mexican Restaurant in this area. All sub par!! The owner is super friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is perfect -- they even have firepits outside, so we can bring our fur babies along. I love that I can have my dogs in their stroller while enjoying great food, and they even get to enjoy some grilled chicken too! Tucked away in Lunada Bay, sits this gem. My date brought her dog and although it was a cool night, we sat outside and enjoyed the warmth from the burners. I ordered the shrimp taco plate and there was plenty enough to take home. The tacos were plump and the shrimp themselves springy and juicy. Can't forget about the complimentary chips and salsa too! We are so disappointed in our experience. We came in for dinner, ordered three different entrees and all were not tasty. The steak fajitas looked like boiled meat, the color was light gray, it did not look like meat, it was soft with the weirdest look and texture. The sea bass entree was a big mess in a plate. So many ingredients on top of the fish all mixed in together and the fish was overcooked and buried underneath it all. The chicken quesadilla was bland. The only good thing was the salsa and chips. The waitress asked if we wanted our dishes to go since they looked untouched and when I asked her about the fajita steak and why it tasted that way she brushed it off as "this is how we prepare it" and did not offer us anything, not that we wanted a comped meal but the way it was handled wasn't professional. We were there with our King Charles Cavalier outside on the patio yesterday. It was such a warm and beautiful day after the rains. Katrina helped us and I had the Camarones Enchilada entree and my husband had the Chile Relleno one. It was all so delicious. It felt like home there. Truly a memorable experience. From the fresh salsa on the table I knew I was not on the east coast any longer. The carne enchiladas in red sauce was a great choice.
