When we got home, my wife's chicken bowl was missing the chicken and my chicken quesadilla had the shredded burnt stuff that sticks to the grates of your grill in it. NO chicken. This was the absolute worst dining experience I have ever had, the employee at the counter Nicholas basically started yelling at me, did not want the serve us because we came in at 8:50 pm, and he said they close at 9:00 pm, even though the web site states the hours are until 10:00pm. Typically I never go to a location that has 2 stars but it seems to me Temecula people just love to be pessimistic. I work in Temecula so seeing this food chain there makes me feel not so guilty. I went into the drive thru despite the horrible reviews and their was a young lady with Glasses and Her name started with a Y I'm not sure what her name was but very beautiful name, attentive and sweet young lady. I had gotten my order mixed up and asked to change it at the window and she was pleasantly attentive, quick, and very respectful. Wasn't rude when I asked for extra salsa and dressing. So polite. Definitely will come back because of her and the food. Also, the manager on duty was very sweet and very helpful as well. This place seem to get along with each other quite nicely. read more

This is the worst one I have been to. I was waiting at the speaker for 3 minutes, when I said seriously out loud and a lady came on and said yea, so I gave her my order and as I was trying to order she kept interrupting me, you couldn't even understand her. Then when I got to the window she was rude I handed her my card and she snatched it from me, the pretty much threw the card back at after it was done being used, she got my food and held it out the window and said here. The online order process is horrific. The store will not accept any phone orders and there is no way to coordinate the online order with the store to get exactly what you want. Literally the worst do pollo loco ever. I have been there 3 times and have never gotten my order correct. NEVER! Its not even like I have any complicated orders. For example I ordered a salad and they forget the dressing. Also the employees all seem to have attitudes when you request the order to be fixed. Its just a big headache. read more

The service at this place is continually bad. The employees rarely make eye contact when you come in and often don't greet you when you enter like most restaurants do. I have had several bad experiences, even when using the app to order. The order was done through their website so I was a little apprehensive there would be something missing. When I arrived at the predetermined time to pick up the order, everything was ready and the order was complete. They were very busy, very organized, and very friendly. Went thru the drive up window, the food and service was good. My only complaint is as I sat in the car in their parking lot to eat, I looked around and noticed how bad the landscaping is kept up..its awful weeds, trash laying around, dead bushes and plants. Based on the other reviews posted the customer service and quality of food is hit or miss. I have been to this location several times since they opened, as I work there at the mall. I also have been there at all different times of the day or night, weekdays and weekends, and I have always had great customer service and real good food each time. As with most fast food places, service and food isn't always consistent. Management can and should strive to change that. read more

This has to be the worst El Pollo Loco in the area. Drive the extra few miles to get to the one off of Murrieta Hot Springs. First issue was the service I received in the drive thru. The young man was extremely rude. I would give you his name but by the name on my receipt he was logged into the cash register under another employee (female name). That's another issue. Then I get my food and ask for Pico on the side. Has to be the most bland flavor I have ever tasted. It was pure tomato with no salt and very little jalapeño. My corn tortillas were hard like they had been sitting out for a while and salad dressing was completely watered down. This location was given two opportunities to provide a meal in a reasonable time. It failed on both occasions. The first time at the drive through after making my order, only to arrive at the window to be told they were out of chicken. Many months later (2days ago) the drive through had 4 cars in line, so going inside to order appeared to be a reasonable option. After taking my order, was told it would take 5-10 minutes, while you could see ample chicken on the grill to handle the four cars and my order. They made excuses for the wait, which turned into 15 minutes, as 7 cars were served. The el pollo loco off Temecula Parkway has never been so delayed, nor any in San Diego. Had the best customer service here. Richard rang us up at the register and was very patient with our complicated order. He was also extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome. The first few times at this location it was a nightmare getting my food I'll keep it simple by saying that. Now I'm probably on my 8-10 time here as they've been open a while and I'd expect the bugs to be worked out by now and their no where near that. Just finished my meal as I was writing while waiting for my food and I gotta say it's wasn't anything worth talking about. My mash potatoes were cold but more importantly is the total lack of management in this location. It looks as though it's a bunch of teens who don't take their job seriously, I feel for the owner who's just loosening money all day long. In a nut shell GET REAL MANAGEMENT and get rid of the ones who are not serious about working there. Let's start this off by stating that I have an allergy to gluten. This being said no where on their menu does their Mexican rice state whether the rice is seasoned with any type of gluten product. I would hate to chance it so me thinking out side the box I ask if I can substitute the rice inside the The original pollo bowl for brown rice because they have brown rice. I was told no. So then I ask, well is your Mexican rice gluten free? And the person on the other side of the drive through goes let me ask my manager. When he FINALLY comes back he states that his manager doesn't know. First off how can you be a manager of a restaurant and not know critical ingredients in your food that could potentially harm your costumer. So I brush it off, whatever finally I ask, well can you sell me the bowl without rice and just sell me the brown rice on the side and again I am told no because they don't have a button for that. We have always come to this Apollo Loco but after this HORRIBLE experience I doubt we'll be going back anytime soon the first cashier we got was very nice we told we wanted the chicken juicy like always and the cook Enrique was very rude and said we would get what we get and that it would all be juicy anyways. That was the first sign that this wouldn't be a good trip when we got the chicken it did not look juicy at all I took back and politely asked Royale if they could get it juicier straight away she hadn't even looked at it and said no that it was already juicy and gave me a rude look she took it back saying that's as juicy as possible and that it was even a little raw which is NOT true we checked it so she comes back saying the same thing this time my mom goes up Royals kept up with her attitude and was VERY rude towards my mother also the manager then came up and talked with my mom my mom told her what Enrique said and she turned towards him and questioned him about it in front of us he just gave my mom a rude look but stayed quiet they finally gave us our money back since they refused to make the chicken again.
