Walked in on a Friday afternoon, not very busy and was helped immediately. We were also given a small sample of a green potato pork soup, which was delicious. Beans needed salt and my table had no salt/pepper shakers available. Both the lechon and chicharones plates were delicious. Potato balls were small and sadly over fried, but very flavorful. Dusty, one of the owners greeted us and was thrilled that it was our first time and guarantee it wouldn't be our last! All I can say was is it was slap yo mama in Cuba good!! the black beans were on point! In fact all he suggested was over the top for us! Now that's why I call flavor town on a plate! I really felt like I really mattered to them. One thing I really liked about the Cuban hut is that it was a a spot that reminds you of just being by the beach. Before I went to the Cuban hut, I didn't even know what Cuban food was, but after I went, it's one of my favorite types of food. I was looking for a place that had had oxtail and saw that they made Rabo Encendido ($21.74) which is tender oxtail in a stew of chopped onions, bell peppers, and olives in a tomato paste-based sauce. It comes with a side of maduros (fried plantains and black beans). The oxtail was piled on top of white rice and had plenty of sauce. The empanadas were very good! I loved both beef ones especially the ropa one. The chicken had a little kick but that was also very tasty. I ordered online and came in for pick up it was really easy.
