I got the Pan con Bistec sandwich and the ham croqueta. The Bistec meat was very tough and dry. The bread on the other hand was good, nicely toasted. It came with a side of spicy sauce which did help a little. Potatoes chips were not bad. Croqueta was good, inside has creamy potatoes. It came with a side of the sauce which was not necessary as it is good by itself. There is a display case with some delicious looking puff pastries. Fun spot! Came here after I went to the dentist lol! Figured I would just grab a coffee. I've never had Cuban food before. I am so glad that the people that were already eating there told me how good it was! I ended up ordering the oxtail, Puerto Rican and Cuban Tamales. The oxtail came with rice and beans and I got a iced coffee. Everything was great! I want to try their garlic shrimp next time. I was not expecting there to be as good as flavor as there was! OMG my new favorite place! I got the Ropa Vieja empanada with the mojo sauce and it's soooooo delicious! The sauce is my favorite! I wish I could have a huge bottle to myself! The empanada is pretty big and so is the Papa Rellena! I also got a Guava pastelito and let me tell you I could eat 5 The owner is super sweet and welcoming! Beans needed salt and my table had no salt/pepper shakers available. Both the lechon and chicharones plates were delicious. Potato balls were small and sadly over fried, but very flavorful. I Love the Cuban Hut! It's one of my absolute favorites in Temecula. Jose the owner is one in a million. He cares about his customers and his food! Today we had the Picadillo, the Garlic Shrimp Special and the Oso Buco Special. We also tried the soup of the day which was their Pea Soup. Everything was outstanding! It always is. We were helped by an older gentleman - my husband loved his sarcasm, yet I could tell he cared for his customers, as I noticed that he went up to each kid in the restaurant and gave them a lollipop. The last time I had Cuban food was over two decades when I went to Miami to visit a friend and she took me to a Cuban spot. I wasn't all that impressed so to be honest I had my reservations. Dusty, one of the owners greeted us and was thrilled that it was our first time and guarantee it wouldn't be our last! All I can say was is it was slap yo mama in Cuba good!! the black beans were on point! In fact all he suggested was over the top for us! Now that's why I call flavor town on a plate! SO attentive! was concerned because I didn't have a drink and brought me water. he also passed out samples of garbanzo soup - delicious!!! the REAL reason I came was to try their Picadillo plate since Havana Cuban no longer makes it (no idea why not). I have been here 3 times. The first time was amazing. Oz tails white rice black beans sweet plantains. So delicious. The last two times, just ok then not good at all. So I have to say inconsistent cooking is not the mark of a good restaurant. Especially with the cost of a meal these days. I am bummed. read more
