El Pollo Loco has opened and EVERYONE in Tracy is out to try it! The chicken here, just like other locations, is moist and marinated well. Not a fan of the rice, though. I tried the chicken mango tostada, and it was delicious. The mango salsa went well with the smoky black beans, and there were lots of avocado. The cilantro sauce was good too, and I didn't need a lot of it. The wheat tortilla was toasted well, and surprisingly flavorful. I started using it to scoop out the salad near the end. This place is going to be busy for awhile, but if you're nearby and want really good chicken, this is the place to go. read more

El Pollo Loco is practically #1 when it comes to flavorful chicken, buuuut the chicken portions are some of the smallest I've ever seen. Two stars taken for that! Not only that but they're also very stingy about their chips. Thankfully, though, they came out with their Tamale Bowls and these are big enough to keep me coming back again (that's what she said). I tried El Pollo Loco for the first time today. It was great! I ordered a two piece meal with rice and pinto beans. The drive thru took a little longer than usual but I was in no hurry so it wasn't a problem. There were also a few handwritten signs saying "CASH ONLY". I'm guessing that there was a temporary issue with credit card payments. Luckily I had cash so it was fine. The gentleman in the drive thru was really friendly which I appreciated. I had to wait to eat until I got home which took about 25 minutes. The food was great! The chicken was nicely seasoned and moist. The beans had a good flavor, but unfortunately I didn't care for the rice. The portions seem to be on the smaller side when you compare it to other fast food places. The bottom line is that I've already researched closer El Pollo Loco locations, and will definitely be back! read more

I just got the worst customer service here 03/06/23. Never coming back. I went through the drive through and the girl taking the order at 8:55pm was extremely rude, didn't acknowledge me at all, and slammed the window on me multiple times. The Tracy el Pollo Loco seems to be correcting its past misdeeds. I decided to visit them again, first time in months. They actually have mature management in place, with attentive employees now. What a difference. The Double Avocado Chicken Salad actually had a decent quantity of chicken, not the tablespoon serving I had the previous time. It wasn't particularly warm chicken, but quite edible. Previously the Tracy el Pollo Loco was doing a disservice to the franchise. If I could give this experience a zero, I would! I ordered a family meal and this is what I received for chips. Nothing but crumbs in the bag. Not to mention that my chicken was in the bigger bag and not even in the box, like they boxed some of it and threw some in the bag. The food was very good and tastes very fresh. Had the chicken tostada with a very crispy big shell, fresh chicken, beans, rice, fresh avocado. Unfortunately they forgot my avocado cilantro dressing! Sad when I was finished. Their chicken tamales were surprisingly good. Too bad they couldn't find a better location because the drive through gets ridiculously long and it's hard to get a parking space. It was so crowded inside around 6 pm last night that the manager (who was so nice) told everyone individually that there's a 15 minute wait in line. We ended up leaving and coming back today. Me and my step mom came here to eat. This is one of her favorite restaurants to eat at. However, this location is so messy and disgusting!!! The reason I put 2 stars is because the food was edible. Minus my moms burnt rice and the fact hat they supposedly had NO FLOUR TORTILLAS !!!? Even though they were making burritos and quesadillas.. salsa bar had about 3 empty areas, floor looked like it hadn't been mopped in days, trash just left on tables from before we got there and was never cleaned up! Mind you we were in there about 30 mins. The cashier came and got salsa from the salsa bar and looked around and seen how messy it was and went back behind the counter and did nothing. 2 workers were seen just standing around while the store is messy and unstocked. Waited almost an hour in this drive thru. Literally didn't move at all. I actually had to call the store to ask what was going on? They said they were short staffed & got a big order. By the time I finally was able to pay, I saw like 5 employees inside. Wasn't offered anything for the long wait or an apology for the inconvenience. After reading all the negative reviews I liked the chicken family meal before so went down to satisfy a craving. My daughter checked the contents, got home, she checked again and realized pollo loco didn't put the two side orders. Went back across town to rectify this. The employee asked could he help. I showed the receipt and told the two sides were not in the take out. He asked if I wanted two small or two large sides. I said two large. I looked at the receipt it was in print TWO LARGE sides. After that visit went home, my wife opens the side of beans. It smelled burnt, tasted burnt. I don't know if I'll give another try but I will check my order before leaving. Having to wait to order isn't because there is a line out the door. It is because there is literally no one having any urgency to take your order. Never send a fast food joint to do a fast-casual's job. Had a quesadilla with a negligible amount of cheese and horrendously dry/chewy chicken. The flavor of the chicken was nice, but the actual meat was inedible. Chips served with the meal were horribly stale. Salsa bar is always poorly stocked and employees never get around to refilling it when we ask. Then you bring up the pricing, which is certainly not right for the quality. My wife and I had originally planned on Going to the Texas Grill in Tracy as we hadn't been there in quite a while. Sadly, there were NO parking places to be found and the place was beyond jammed. We did find 1 parking space in front of Polo Loco, so we decided to give it a try, and we're both very glad that we did! My wife got a leg & thigh dinner with a side of Cole slaw and corn. I ordered chicken as well and got 2 thighs and 1 leg with a side of broccoli and mashed potatoes & gravy. Since they grill their chicken on an open fire, the taste was incredible, the chicken was perfectly grilled and it was very tender and juicy. Their's is far better than we've ever had at KFC or any other place for that matter, and much healthier as well. I might add that their broccoli was very fresh, and their mashed potatoes and gravy were all excellent. KUDOS!! The place was very clean, the staff was friendly and efficient, and we only spent $16.00. Had we dined at Texas Grill, we would probably have received a bill for over $50 + tip. amazing!!! went in about 5pm may 17th and not one person was working. there were customers waiting at register to order. there was young kids all hanging out in back that work there. they finally came back to the kitchen and started taking orders. then as we started ordering more kids came thru the door im street clothes and started walking in back with the employees. again they all retreated to the back of the kitchen to hang out while all the customers waited in dinning area. not once did i see these kids wash there hands while making food. might report to food and safety board... hey dumb ass owner check the fucking cameras! read more
