My wife and I had originally planned on Going to the Texas Grill in Tracy as we hadn't been there in quite a while. Sadly, there were NO parking places to be found and the place was beyond jammed. We did find 1 parking space in front of Polo Loco, so we decided to give it a try, and we're both very glad that we did! My wife got a leg & thigh dinner with a side of Cole slaw and corn. I ordered chicken as well and got 2 thighs and 1 leg with a side of broccoli and mashed potatoes & gravy. Since they grill their chicken on an open fire, the taste was incredible, the chicken was perfectly grilled and it was very tender and juicy. Their's is far better than we've ever had at KFC or any other place for that matter, and much healthier as well. I might add that their broccoli was very fresh, and their mashed potatoes and gravy were all excellent. KUDOS!! The place was very clean, the staff was friendly and efficient, and we only spent $16.00. Had we dined at Texas Grill, we would probably have received a bill for over $50 + tip. OK, I've been to this location twice and both times the chicken was way over cooked. Dry and splintery. There where a couple of legs that were so over done the meat was crunchy. The only sides I've had were the slaw and rice. Slaw was ok but the rice has no flavor. I remember El Pollo Loco from when I lived in the San Jose area decades ago. I loved it then. I had to try out this location to see if it was like what I remember. It's OK, but nothing special. I ordered the two shrimp tacos for six dollars plus. They were OK, but I was still hungry afterward. I could have easily eaten twice that amount. My wife ordered a burrito, plus some chips and a drink. She said her burrito was nothing special. I ate all her chips before she could try them (only about 3/4 of a cup's worth), and ended drinking all the salsa cups dry to get more calories. Im growing to love this place! NO processed meat :) I love love love their shrimp tacos, they have the perfect flavors. Another reason why I love it is because they individually wrap each taco in aluminum foil. This is a given, it keeps each taco warm as you enjoy the other. Ive tried there chicken and its so fresh. This site is a fail for me. My husband loves El Pollo Loco, so we try out several branches whenever we're out of town. I'm a Tracy local so we frequent this place. When dining in, everything's okay, because if there's something wrong with the order, we can always complain and they will fix it. I get it, people make mistakes sometimes, and we're very patient about these things. We don't complain about the chicken pieces that are smaller and waaaay drier than other outlets, because it could be just us nitpicking. However, when we go to the drive through, they always mess up our order. I always order a salad and I have yet to get the right dressing because they give me guacamole instead! Don't they have markers somewhere to distinguish between cilantro dressing and guacamole? There was one time when I even told the lady at the window to make sure that she's putting cilantro dressing in my bag and not avocado, because that was what I got the last time, and when I got home, it was still guacamole!! Then another time they made me park because the chicken was not ready. Again I told them that when they take my order to where I parked, to please, please, check that they are giving me salad dressing. And then again, the guacamole comes home with me. How lazy can you get to not even check for two seconds if you gave me the correct item? This happened all of 2018 and 2019. Now it's 2020, and after several months of taking a rest from this local Pollo Loco, I decided to try the drive through again, yes stupid me, because I was too tired from work and I didn't have time to cook. First love the el ranchero burrito it's delicious but sometimes they don't put the sauce on it! I've used the drive thru over 5 times and it doesn't matter what time of day it is as long as there is a line it takes longer than 15 mins to get your food. Then no matter what if you get to the window and you ordered a drink they never mark the top as to which drink is which and they constantly forget the dressing and chips. I believe years ago there was one in Pleasanton that I would go to occasionally for lunch, so thought we would try this today, since we were in Tracy. My husband had 2 piece chicken plate, but really it's only 1 piece of chicken and a dried up wing, with no meat on it. He did like his chicken breast. I ordered avocado burrito and asked if I could have skinless chicken breast put into it and was told that is what they use, I don't believe it was chicken breast, looked like dark meat and was dry. I didn't like it. Plus I didn't like the tortilla it was put on grill. When you order you can see all the chicken cooking on large grill, I really didn't like it. Chips and salsa were good...just ask for the bigger cups of salsa as they give you one tiny cup, which is enough for about 2 dippings. I was hoping it would be like Baja Fresh, but not even close. Very unhappy with the customer service at this location. Almost every time I go to this one, drive thru they tell me to park out front to wait for my food and say 10 minutes wait. So lucky if we find PARKING to wait! The parking lot is small and shares with another restaurant. The last time they told me to wait out front for them to bring out our food, we waited over 10 minutes and thought maybe couldn't find our car so my husband walks inside to check but finds out another 10 more minutes. A couple ahead of us asked for a refund because they already have been waiting 20 minutes and had somewhere they needed to be and won't have time to eat now. I am in LOVE with the shrimp tacooos! I have also eaten the chicken avocado quesadilla as well, and that's pretty bomb too. But the shrimp tacos are on point. They come in a corn tortilla but it seems like it's home made not like the store bought. And it's delicious. I seriously go and buy those tacos like once a week. They come as two tacos for..
