Not really my thing. It's kind of an odd collection of Mexican'ish food - not really a fastfood Mexican place like Taco Bell, but it feels like it - and not really a high end restuarant, but the food seems to try to be that as well as the prices. More like a Kenny Rogers Roasters with a Mexican-ish theme I guess. We waited way too long in no line at all to order, then waited even longer to get the food which was good, but not for the price. I didn't know what to expect going in, probably won't be going back. It was a pretty clean place, but unless I just missed a huge rush of people that left most of the tables dirty, they don't have enough people working or they don't care. UPDATE: it's not often people take the time to contact us about our experiences when less than satisfactory. I received a pleasant message from the management. I can see they do care about their customers and their establishment. I'm impressed. I think I'll give it another try to be fair. read more

There food is actually so good! Ahhh! But there service today was absolutely terrible. We were sitting for about 20 minutes without food on our table and we kept checking what they were doing, they were literally just standing there. Anyway, we ordered 16 pieces of chicken. They came and brought only 8 and the lady said she would bring more in like 5 minutes. But a literal more 15 minutes, I go up there and ask them like what happen and the guy says "uh, what did you order" so I told him that i needed my 8 piece and then they take 7 minutes to go to the computer and check if it the order was actually real. So, today was the second time I stopped here, and both times I went to the drive thru, they forgot something on my order. First time my drink, and this time the Guac to go the the chips they gave us. I mean what's the purpose of ordering Guac and chips if all you get is the chips, large order at that. I don't know if ordering inside is better, but from other reviews, I don't know if I'd dare go in. I think they need to step it up, maybe hire people who know what they are doing, and can make sure people get what they order. I thought that the food tasted great, at least the food I got. I just went through the drive thru and ordered a 14 piece Familia Meal. They asked me what type of tortillas I wanted and I stated corn. Get to the window and ask the young man if he was sure everything was there in my bags, he stated yes. Get home and not one tortilla was included. Called and asked to speak to Manager and I speak to a Zane. He offered to give us double tortillas on next visit. I told him who needs double tortillas on a future visit? He then stated very callously I don't know what you want from me? This store has always been awful half of the time they don't have enough chicken to fulfill a family meal. I like the place...about half the time. The food is okay, but the dining area is filthy. My wife and I stopped around 4:30 on Cinco de Mayo. There were two booths occupied and two tables - 6 people total. We found one booth that was semi-clean. None of the tables were clean nor was the floor. They have fountain drinks, juices and horchata. Tres leches cake, chocolate chip brownies, cheesecake burritos or churros for dessert. Both times I've been here they messed up our order. The manager tried to fix it, but we had already started eating and wanted to keep the food hot. Other customers had problems using coupons. Some tables hadn't been cleaned. Totally not impressed. Tonight I decided to splurge and get "fast food" during this corona virus crap going on. I went to the Washington, Utah location, but in the past I have visited the West Jordan, Utah location and liked it well enough. First they were out of avocados, so I couldn't get the chicken avocado burrito I had liked well enough twice before. Then, they offered me a combo with chips and a drink, but I got back to my hotel and they had forgotten both of the salsas that I had requested for the chips, so I now have a useless bag of tortilla chips to throw away. Lastly, and most importantly, the Shredded chicken burrito I opted for (instead of the chicken avocado burrito) was the same size as a $2.79 shredded chicken burrito from Taco Bell. It literally took only 4 bites to eat the tiny thing, but didn't taste as good as Taco Bell. There is no way this was what a $7.00 burrito should be; not even close. I think I'll stick with Taco Bell in future for mediocre burritos. So tonight I instead had to leave my hotel again and went to Wendy's to get a decent burger... lame! read more

While the food was good... the dining room/lobby was disgusting! The drink station was all sticky and had straw wrappers sitting on it. We had to clean off a table because they were all sticky. And why does a small fast food joint need table pagers like big restaurants?! Just seemed tacky. While we were eating, one of the workers pulled out all of the garbage cans and took the bags out. Don't come to this location!!!! I blame it all on the management! The girls at counter have been nice but like other reviews below, ALWAYS closed before posted time. For the person who was told it was because grill was broken....nope you're pretty much guaranteed that they'll close early every night, they're out of chicken in the middle of the day and I even came at opening and was told to come back 30 mins later. I never get what I order because they're out and I've had to compromise and take something I didn't even go for. I would have gone somewhere else but I always have my kids with me and if we're out getting food, its because mommy is exhausted. I've yet to do a review on Yelp as a long time user but I just can't sit back and say nothing. This place is an absolute disaster. We stopped by this location on 9/23/2018 at around 4pm. I should've gone with my instinct, as soon as we walked in to the store it was a total disaster. It took them a couple of minutes to take our order and got around to it. After placing our order we went to the drink station and it looked like it hadn't been serviced for weeks. Filthy, under stocked and the same went for their salsa bar. It looked like the salsa bar had been recently purchased from a garage sale. Their restrooms? We're beyond disgusting. The women's room had no soap, my wife asked for soap twice. When one of the employee's finally decided to do something about it, all he did was go in and do nothing. As my wife went back to wash her hands after the employee only to discover he hadn't filled the soap dispenser. The floors and dinning room tables looked like they hadn't been cleaned in weeks. As for the food? It ended up in the trash. Taquitos were burnt and tasted like old oil. We left that establishment hoping we wouldn't end up with food poisoning from the few bites we did take. I even contacted their corporate offices and have not heard nothing yet, and I don't think I ever will. People, do yourselves a favor. Go some where else. There's a In N Out Burger across the street and other restaurants in the area. This place should be avoided like the plague!!! read more

Wow! Really skeptical of this place due to the amount of poor reviews it has received.... But I must say that I am really glad that I finally tried El Pollo Loco. I ordered the avocado chicken bowl....it was just amazing. Chicken was perfect, amazing avocado, pico was really great, Spanish rice was excellent. It's a huge portion too... I also got one of the street tacos and it was also very good. Drive thru wait was short. No problems there. The employee at the window was polite and worked fast. Will definitely be returning. I almost forgot, they gave us 2 churros (not sure if this is a regular thing that they do but...) They were excellent!!!!!!! read more

El Pollo Loco is great. Food and the staff were great and worthy of a repeat visit. The prices are a bit steep for fast food (hence no 5 stars), but if you are looking for the dollar menu you are probably looking for McDonalds. I personally think the burritos are the best thing on the menu. read more
