Long overdue review here! Found this gem some time ago. Fortunately It wasn't a part of the city that i was normally around, so i couldn't go as often as i would want to. Now my new job is close by so I've been doing smooth phone orders to pick up and take with me to work. I call ahead of time and im in and out within 2 minutes! I also have ordered using Door Dash as well to be delivered to my job. Hidden gem! It's in an industrial area, so you probably won't come across it as fast as you normally would, thanks to Yelp I had found it over a year ago. The food is really good! I have yet to explore more things off the menu. I love the quality of the Asada that they use! The asada meat quality always speaks volumes of the place to me, personally. My go-to is the Tostada Salad! I get it with shrimp and even added asada the last time I got it! Worth the price of the upgrade! Not to mention their in house sauces they have for you! I love when places have all those sauces, like the spicy grey one and some other ones that aren't at typical mexican joints. My last order was the wet fajitas burrito! I would say, i was left with something missing on it. I think rice definitely needs to be on that burrito. I do know some restaurants are practicing burritos without rice and even though that may sometimes come out well, it is definitely needed on this one. I was overwhelmed with all the meat, veggies, and tortilla i had, i felt there was space for something else! I'll for sure be adding rice to mine next time. The burrito caught attention from several co workers when I began to dig into it. It was well prepared and served! I'm telling you all, they have a unique way of how they serve their food. Their portions are big and true! I'm soo happy and lucky to find a place that isn't shortening their customers while still charging the same. Next on the list for me will be the Chilaquiles & a Torta! And last but not least, the location; It is small but normally not busy, there's always a seat open for you. Restroom is also clean. Parking is easy as well! Oh! And they have reeeeally good agua frescas. However, i do wish they offered a smaller size as sometimes we don't always want a big portion! Excellent food and excellent service! Very fast food delivery to our tables! Very clean with a great menu and variety of Mexican foods. Inside and outside seating with large screen TVs. We had enchilada plate and shrimp fajitas. We couldn't finish the plates, there was so much great tasting food on our plates! This location is listed on Uber Eats as Breakfast Beauties, but the food I received was anything but a beauty. I ordered a house sandwich (described on Uber eats as having "eggs with crispy bacon, hash brown, melted cheese, and house sauce") with an add on of avocado, sausage egg sandwich, a side of hash browns, and a side of breakfast potatoes. The house sandwich did not have any bacon in it and the eggs were so fried that parts had turned black (I had asked for scrambled eggs). The sausage sandwich had two measly sausage links that had been cut in half. Instead of the breakfast potatoes, I received a cheesy egg and potato burrito, which was just as unappealing as the sandwiches. I understand that El Primo might be the ghost kitchen for Breakfast Beauties, but some care to the food prep and presentation would go a long way. If the breakfast was good, I would have considered eating at El Primo, but now I would never consider eating there if this is the standard that they seem to have, or at least be associated with. read more

Yum! I needed a quick bite on my way to visit a friend in Lynwood. I stopped here due to good Yelp reviews. I got the fish taco and the mushroom taco thinking 'they will probably be so-so". Wow was honestly impressed as El Primo is truly le prime. Had ordered the California burrito wet with both red and green. You know what they say, you eat with your eyes and props to the chefs for making not only a beautiful looking wet burrito but also making it denk. The Cali burrito waa pretty good as i always love fries in my burrito. Obviously not fresh made fries bc you know we are in Vernon and people probably won't care if they are frozen or fresh. Also very happy with the salsas they have as they had a very nice habanero salsa with a decent kick. Also really liked that they give you chips on the side as well too. This place has good quality food. I ordered the El Pastor and shrimp taco, both are really tasty. The meat in El pastor is juicy and seasoned well, same for the shrimp too. This restaurant left me impressed. It is a bit hidden, because it's located in a commercial area. It has on site parking, and a good variety of food. This restaurant is more of a help yourself restaurant, you order and pay first and food is brought to you. Walked in, was greeted by the employee and guided me to the menu. Fast service and had a pleasant experience. We ordered carne asada plate, mixed fajitas, and a breakfast plate. Fajitas arrived sizzling and the carne asada was cooked perfectly. My family and I have been coming to yearly for a few months out of the year to Bakersfield for the past three years and this place has become our all time favorite. When our family come and visit from Southern Arizona where the best Birria gets cooked we bring them here and they say who would've thought that the best tasting Birria they have ever tasted in their life! would be in Bakersfield at El Camino Real, and not back home or even in Mexico which is a few minutes away from our house in Arizona. I'm gonna be honest. The service is horrible lack of professionalism, lack of care for the customers and I saw this with everyone. They should have someone to answer calls and someone for cashier because is horrible to be ordering food while the cashier is on the phone. On our first order the cashier was taking my order and taking a order on the phone that she charge me for the wrong meal. I'm glad I saw hat before they started to make my food. Then we order the churros and the second cashier because the first one left already was on the phone making a personal call while was taking my order and using words like shit in front of us customers. My husband ordered al pastor torta it had a lot fat, the fries were good. I had ceviche shrimp and it was good. Then we order churros and ok they were good but not worth $4.25 plus tax. It sucks because this was our first time and I'm not sure if this place even deserves a second time for us to go based of the customer service.
